I saw two shows in Las Vegas. One was "ICE: Direct from Russia" at Riviera Casino Hotel. 42 Russians perform skating, dancing, acrobats, and comedies. It's from 8 PM on Saturday to Thursday. Dark on Fridays. The first 6 rows are stadium seating. Then, there is a 1-meter-length (3.3 feet-length) skate link to flow from the edge of the stage to the other side of the stage. Performers flow and skate on this link from time to time. From the 7th row to the rest was cabaret style seating with tables.
All performances was done with skating shoes. There were Russian cool beauties, comedies with Russian talks, nice looking Russian boys and young men, and ordinary looking but great acrobatic performers---a lot of varieties and styles in the show. I enjoyed it very much. There was a back-stage tour at $15 after the show. I will attach a home page of ICE with a video clip below.
Another show was "Steve Wyrick Real Magic" at Planet Hollywood Casino Hotel. Steve Wyrick performs grand scale illusions that will remind audiences why they fell in love with magic in the first place. Wyrick is an escape artist, an illusionist, and all-around amazing showman.
The show was like a theatrical production, using lots of sets and equipments. It started out with Hip-Hop dancing of five terrific female dancers. Steve Wyrick appears wearing jeans and performs tricks including helicopters, escape from a shackles as an industrial saw hangs above his head, card magic, disappearing motorcycle and etc. in a relaxed style. He is very friendly and gets up close and personal with audiences. Many of his tricks include audience participation.
It was his 1000th magic show when I watched it from 7 PM on October 9, 2008. At the end of the show he mentioned about it and introduced his mother in the audience. She was sitting right next to me on the 2nd row in the middle. She had curry silver hair and looked kind. Steve is 39 years old. His magic was something he imagined and cultivated since he was a child. He is still a kid at heart. The show was very entertaining. The show is from 7 PM and 9 PM, twice daily from Saturday through Thursday. Dark on Friday.
I purchased show tickets at "Ticket-4-Less" ticket booth on the 1st floor of Fashion Shaw Mall in Las Vegas at discounted price. They are selling available tickets for the day. If you really want to see these shows, it's better to buy tickets on-line at each casino website or other vegas show tickets sites.
