運転中の携帯電話規制法が2008年7月1日からカリフォルニア州で施行されます。
運転中の携帯電話の事故多発を改善するための交通法。
18歳未満の人間は運転中の携帯電話使用禁止。
18歳以上の場合、ハンズフリー（両手が使える状態）でなければならない。
ブルーツース、イヤーフォンの使用かスピーカーフォンにての会話であること。
警察がさっそく取り締まりを始める。初犯が20ドル、二回目から50ドルの罰金が課せられる。
3倍以上の罰金が課せられることもあるそう。
違反は運転免許記録に残るが、ポイントは引かれないそう。
車両保険代がどうこれによって影響されるのか、心配になった。
この法律はカリフォルニア州で運転する全ドライバーに適用される。他州から訪問中の人も含まれる。

Cell Phone Driving Laws
New Cell Phone Driving Laws go into effect on July 1, 2008.
The first law prohibits all drivers from using cell phones while driving.
The second law allows people over 18 year old to use "hands free" device, such as blue tooth, ear-phone, and speaker phones while driving.
So drivers under 18 are prohibited from using cell phones while driving.
Police officers will patrol from 7/1/2008, and $20 fine will be charged for the first time, and $50 fine will be charged from the 2nd time. The fines can be more than triple amount of the base amount.
The violations will be recorded in driving records, but points will not be deducted.
I wondered car insurance premium will be increased for this violation or not....
This law is effective to all drivers in California, including out-of-state visitors.

高校で運転の講習クラスがあるところも多い。
