Others are Azusa near Angeles National Forest burning from last Tuesday, Hemet and La Canada burning from yesterday afternoon. In Hemet nearly 500 acres were burned, and in Azusa, nearly 2000 acres were burned.
About 500 homes in La Canada Flintridge, a suburb just 12 miles (20 kilometres) north of downtown Los Angeles, also were ordered evacuated late Thursday as flames made their way slowly down from the San Gabriel Mountains,
Another fire in the San Gabriel Mountains spread a lung-burning haze over much of metropolitan Los Angeles, and was 60 percent contained late Thursday after burning across 2,000 acres (810 hectares). The fire, believed caused by human action began Tuesday near a dam and reservoir in San Gabriel Canyon, six miles (10 km's) above the city of Azusa.
From Wednesday to Saturday, the temperature wills go up over 100 F (38 C) in most area, some going over 110 F (42 C) and very dry. I pray for the safety of evacuated residents and firefighters in the affected areas. I could not find any news sources in Japanese media, yet.
The wildfire in Rancho Palos Verdes is near Donald Trump International Golf Resort where my acquaintance, Mark, had a Super Bowl party in February 2008 and 2009. I visited both parties. I will attach the links to the blogs below.
A wildfire northeast of LA has spread to 164 square miles of brush and timber and it continues to grow. The fire, which nearly doubled in size overnight, grew to 164 square miles by early Monday afternoon. It's burned 21 homes and another 12,000 are threatened in foothill communities near the Angeles National Forest. Also there is another fire in city of Glendale, just 11 miles north of Los Angeles downtown.
The fire is a half-mile from Mount Wilson, home to transmission towers for 20 TV stations, and the historic Mount Wilson Observatory. Los Angeles County fire Capt. Mark Whaling says it probably will reach Mount Wilson sometime Monday. Fire crews have laid down retardant, but Whaling says all they can do now is wait. Several television stations have warned viewers that they may go off the air if the fire damages their transmission facilities

Still it's been hot with 99 to 117 F degree temperature and wildfires in Greater Los Angeles. We need to be careful.
