長年米国生活して欲しかったもの、それは『たこ焼きグリル』。ついに先月末購入しました。マルカイなど日系マーケットで売ってます。 After living in USA for a long time, what I wanted was "A Grill for Takoyaki (Octopus Balls)." You can find them at a Japanese market, such as Marukai.
Until I got this grill, I waited for Japanese Takoyaki (Octopus Balls) store such as "Kukuru" from Osaka and "Gindako" from Tokyo to come to a food fair at Mitsuwa or Marukai market, a few times a year and line up over 45 minutes to buy 2 boxes (6 pieces per box) per person limit. Or I could buy them at Japanese Summer festivals a few times a year.
Ingredients (for 40 balls): Flour 400 cc, 2 Eggs, Water 540cc, little Salt, Baking Powder 1/2 tea spoon. Octopus leg meat, Green Onion (chopped), Red Ginger, and Tempura Kasu. Okonomi Sauce, Seaweed Powder, Dry Bonito Flakes, Mayonnaise, etc.
Oil and heat the grill first. Add Flour and Water base batter, chopped Octopus meat, Green Onion, Tempura Kasu on the grill. When the surface is done, you need to turn it with Takoyaki pin (a tool came with the grill) to shape balls. We used special forks for Crabs since there was only 1 Takoyaki pin tool.
After living in USA for more than 20 years, finally I got a "Takoyaki Grill". You can find Frozen Takoyaki (Octopus Balls) at Japanese Markets, but freshly cooked Takoyaki (Octopus Balls) are great! You can arrange the ingredients, too.
