一月ほど前になります。2007年12月22日にラスベガスで「ブルー・マン・グループ」ショーを見た。ベネシアン・ホテル・カジノにて上演。当日にファションショーモール内の割安チケットショップにて半額で手数料と消費税を入れ$80で購入。前から11列目の中央あたり。夜7時か10時のショーを選べ、10時のショーにした。
劇場の通路に有名な絵画が6点飾られている。よーく見ると、どれにもブルー・マン3人が登場している。手前から奥に進むにつれ、ブルー・マンが大きくなっていく。面白いので、行きと退場するときに写真撮影した。下にその写真をアップします。
劇場の入り口にたくさん使い捨て耳栓が置いてあったので4個ほどつかみ中に入る。前から6列の人々はビニールのポンチョを渡されほぼ全身それをかぶっていた。
ショー開始とともにブルー・マン3名がステージ中央でドラムを叩く。またステージ左側上から檻に入ったドラマー３人がロック演奏などで使われる３つ連携のドラムを4台ひきながら降りてきた。、ステージ右側上から檻に入ったロックバンドが演奏しながら降りてきた。ドラマー、ベースギター、リードギター、キーボードの4名。合計7人がドラムを高いボリュームでたたいている。スピーカーの音量もかなり高い。耳栓を両側にしていたが、その上から手でふさいでもまだうるさい。最初の7分と途中5分ぐらいが2回、このドラム演奏があった。高音が苦手な人や心臓が弱い人は注意ください。
全く会話がないショーはコメディータッチで続き、面白かった。ばかげたコントもあったが、それなりに笑える。視聴者の中から（たぶん前もって）選ばれた二人がステージの上でブルー・マン3人とのコントやスタント・ショーっぽいギャクを繰り広げる。
このブルー・マン・グループ・ショーはニューヨークで始まり、ラスベガスでも上演。今月からロサンゼルス、2007年12月から今年4月頃にかけ東京などでも上演している。人気がありどんどん値段が上昇している。私は一度でもういいかなー、と思いました。私の上司(アメリカン)はブルーマン ショー大好きで毎年のように見ています。
About a month ago on 12/22/07, I saw "Blue Man Group" show at Venetian Hotel Casino, Las Vegas, NV from 10 PM. At a discount ticket booth at Fashion Show Mall in Las Vegas, I purchased it around $80. It was a half price ($75) plus fees and hotel taxes. Our seats were at the 11th row and 4th and 5th from the right isle in the middle section. We had a choice of 7 PM and 10 PM shows, and we selected 10 PM show.
As we passed through the hallway to the theatre, we saw six famous paintings. As we looked carefully, three Blue men were in all of the paintings. As we passed through, the blue men got bigger. I took photos and uploaded below.
At the entrance of the theatre seating area, there were tons of disposable ear plugs. We grabed about 4 each of the ear plugs for in case. The people seating the front six rows were wearing clear plastic ponchos.
The show kicked off with drum beating sounds. Three Blue men were hitting three drums on the stage. A cage containing three drummers with full set rock drums came down from the left side roof of the stage. A cage containing a rock band with 4 players (a drummer, a lead guitar, a base guitar, and a keyboardist) came down from the right side roof of the stage. In total there were 7 drummers, beating drums so loud. The speakers were set at high volume. I placed ear plugs on both sides and covered both ears with my hands. Still it was noisy. The first 7 minutes of the show and two more times, 5 minute each in the middle, they played loud drum beating sounds. For people who cannot bear loud drum sounds or those who have heart problems should reconsider before watching this show.
There is no talking during the show but lots of comedy stants and live actions were performed by three Blue men. Two audiences inter-acted with three Blue men and played on the stage. One lady and a young man. I believe they were pre-selected from the audience.
This Blue Man Group show started in New York. They play in Las Vegas. They started to play in Los Angeles from this month. They started shows in Tokyo last month and they will perform until this April as well. This show is getting quite popular and the show ticket price has been increasing so much. But for me I think this one time experience was enough. Many people love this show and become repeaters, though.
