HIKOBAEロサンゼルス公演が来る3月30日（土）と31日（日）にリトル東京のアラタニ日米劇場で開催されます。 "HIKOBAE Los Angeles" theatrical play will be performed on 3-30 (Sat.) and 3-31 (Sun) at Aratani Japan America Theatre in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles.
It is a story of courage and sacrifice that focuses on the medical personnel of Soma City, Fukushima on March 11, 2011.
It's been 2 years since Eastern Japan Disaster on 3-11-2011. We received supports and donations from many parts of the world and regions and trying to rebuild. Many people still have trauma and sorrow that could not be healed, and they are fearful for their future. Some hundreds of the survivors commit suicide in despair every year. They are afraid that "People will forget about the disaster and about the victims and survivors."
This "HIKOBAE"project was funded by Shun Shioya who listened to the voices of the survivors and victims with hopes "We need to continue to tell about the Eastern Japan Disaster". He started the project to tell stories of the 3-11 disaster around March 11 to many people.
In 2012, we premiered the performance at the United Nations in New York and received endorsement and supports from Culture Ministry and many private corporations and groups. We will perform "HIKOBAE" at LA, NY, Tokyo, Hyogo, Osaka, Fukuoka, and Iwate, 7 cities in 2013. We hope many people will share the feelings of the victims and survivors through this play and do not forget about them.
This project will go on forever so that the memories of the Eastern Japan disaster, the kizuna links and the love people all over the world experienced regardless of nationality, religion, and race through 3-11-2011 will not be forgotten..

We went to see the garden outside. It was so beautiful with Azalea, Tulips, Lavenders flowers, etc.
After playing with Happy and other dogs, we went to "Seed Kitchen" for dinner. The so popular special menu, "Holiday Bowl" became "Winter Seitan Bowl" and now "Rosemary Seitan Bowl". They cannot discontinue it due to popular demands. It was so good!
Inside story of 2011 Japanese Tsunami relief & Fukushima nuclear disaster. A critical look at how the authorities handled the nuclear crisis and Tsunami relief by an American who volunteered in the clean-up. It is in short, a documentary of the devastating events in Japan and 6 months of the after-math that followed. It features true stories from those affected by the disaster, the government and even TEPCO. It highlights the struggle in dealing with: The Tsunami clean-up, Government response to the disaster, radiation plus the future of nuclear power after the accident.
At the Reiki meditation I attended on March 9th, I saw beautiful Tenderstem broccoli flower filed shining with sunlight and received the following message:
"Japan has skills and technology to purify air, delete radiation, create alternative and bio energy, and technology for tissue engineering medicine. It takes 5 to 10 years for the Japanese government to approve the technology.
You and others should talk about those issues on blogs, twitter, and etc. and start petitions to speed up the Japanese government's approval process. Then Eastern Japan will be reborn in a shorter period of time."
What was happening after 311? This documentary film was created by Hori Jun who is risking his job by doing so and who have caused controversy on Twitter.
2011 Fukushima Daiichi accident following Tohoku Earthquake and Tsunami, 1979 Three Mile Island accident, and 1959 Santa Susana Field Laboratory, the details of these meltdowns have not been publicized even though these have lasting impacts until today. This film documented the situations around nuclear power plants in Japan and the United States. (The opening music was composed by Ryuichi Sakamoto.)
