Bellagio Conservatory 3 "Spring"温室　春

ラスベガスのベラージオカジノホテルには、季節や行時ごとに飾りつけられた温室（Conservatory) がある。5月7日と9日朝8時過ぎから訪れた時は春のセレブレーション仕様。朝から多くの人で賑わっていました。写真をアップします。色とりどりの花が美しく、あげは蝶がきれいで、てんとう虫の飾り付けが可愛かった。

At Bellagio Casino Hotel in Las Vegas, NV, there is a botanical garden, called "the conservatory". They decorate for each season and holiday event. I uploaded several photos from my visit on 5/7/08 and 5/9/08. It was 8 AM, and there were a lot of visitors at the botanical garden.　The display was "Celebration of Spring" with variety of spring flowers and beautiful butterflies in the green house. Especially, the display of ladybugs were cute.

Casa Pedro Domecq Winery カサ・ペドロ・ドメク・ワイナリー

L.A.セット・ワイナリーを訪れたあと、バスはカサ・ペドロ・ドメク・ワイナリーに向かった。このワイナリーはメキシコで２番目に大きい。L.A.セット・ワイナリーの次。ここではワインの他にブランデー、ウイスキー、コニャック、ボッカ、テキーラーなども作られている。

このワイナリーは1730年にアイルランド人パトリック・マーフィー創設。1816年にフランス人ワインメーカーのピエール・デ・ドメク・レンビエに受け継がれ、1972年にグルポ・アライド・ドメク社が買収した。

ガイド付き無料のワイナリーツアーのあとは、無料のワインテースティングを楽しんだ。その時試飲したワインとテキーラの写真をすべて撮影。下に添付します。なかでも白のマスコット葡萄から作られたパドレ・キノ・ビノ・ビヤンコ・ワインが美味しかった。これは3ドル50セントで売られていた。1000ＭＬの素敵なカラフ入り。1本購入。もっとたくさん買いたかったが、クルーズ船への配達はしてくれない、とのことで思い荷物を持つ自信なく断念。アメリカで売られてないとのこと。また是非今度は車で買いにきたい。

After visiting L.A.Cetto winery,
the winery tour bus went to Casa Pedro Domecq Winery. This winery is the second largest in Mexico next to L.A.Cetto winery. This winery makes brandies, tequilas, cognacs, whiskies, vodkas, and etc.

This winery was started by an Irish, Patrick Murphy, in 1730. Pierre de Domecq Lembeye, a French wine maker, continued from 1816. It was acquired by Grupo Allied-Domecq in 1972.

After a free winery tour with a guide, we enjoyed free tasting. I took photos of all wines and tequilas I tasted at this winery. I liked thier Padre Kino vino bianco table wine, the best. It's made of white muscat grapes. It was smooth and little sweet. I bought one bottle of it at $3.50. It came in a 1000 ml carafe. I wish I could have purchased more, but they did not have a delivery service to our cruise ship, and I did not want to carry heavy load. I wish to come back here by car and get lots of wines from here next time, since their wines are not sold in U.S.A.

Azteca tequila. It was very very strong. I tasted a little, but I spilled it out, and I still got drunk.
アズテカ・テキーラ。かなり強烈なアルコール度。一口試飲したが、強くて吐き出す。それでも酔っ払うほどでした。

I liked this Padre Kino vino bianca the best. It's made of white muscate grapes. It was little sweet and refreshing.
このパドレ・キノ・ビノ・ビアンカ・ワインが一番美味しかった。白いマスカット・葡萄から作られた甘めのワイン。

L.A.Cetto Winery, Mexico ワイナリー 1

4月19日土曜日メキシコ・エンセナーダに上陸。クルーズのオプショナルツアーに「ワイナリーツアー」を選択した。午前8時半に船を下りてすぐのところに集合。40名以上集まる。4～5名遅れ、午前9時前にツアーバスが出発した。

港から街を通り45分ほど山手に向かったところにワイナリーが9軒ほどある。そのうちの2つに今回訪れた。最初に向かったのはＬ．Ａ．セット・ワイナリー。1928年にイタリア人ワイン制作家ドン・アンジェル・セットが創設した。

ワイナリーのブドウ畑を海からの強い風から守るため、まわりにオリーブの木を植樹。オリーブ油と酢づけオリーブが名産品として売られている。オーガニック（有機栽培）なので健康にもいい。無料のワイナリー見学を受け、ワインテースティングの時そのオリーブ油とオリーブも試食。美味しかったので購入した。ここのワインはロサンゼルスのサンアントニオ・ワイナリーでも売られているそう。ヨーロッパのワイン大会で一番多く賞を取ったという、ニエブリロ・ワイン（赤ワインのニエブリロ・ぶどう品種）を1本だけ購入した。

このワイナリーはあちこちに薔薇（ばら）の花が咲き美しかった。ワイナリーの葡萄（ぶどう）を攻撃する害虫は薔薇を好み、葡萄より薔薇を先に食べるらしく、それで害虫駆除のため薔薇が植えられているそう。

For the optional tour at Ensenada, Mexico,
my friend and I selected a "Winery Tour" on Saturday, 4/19/2008. We were supposed to meet a tour guide at the pier, off the cruise ship, at 8:30 AM. 4 to 5 people came late, and the bus departed around 9 AM. The winery tour took us to L.A.Cetto Winery first. Their wines are sold at San Antonio Winery in downtown Los Angeles. It was found by an Italian wine maker, Don Angelo Cetto, in 1928.

To protect grape vineyards, olive trees were planted. The winery sells organic olives and olive oil as well, and they are tasty. Also to protect grape vineyards, they planted roses. The insects that eat grape vineyards attack roses first.

We enjoyed a free tour at the winery and wine tasting after the tour. Their Nebbiolo wine received most awards in Europe, so I purchased a bottle of that wine, a bottle of olive oil, and a bottle of olives.

Mexico Ensenada Cruise 2

4月18日土曜日にメキシコのエンセナダ港に到着したときちょうど1年に1回行われる第29回国際自転車ツアーが開催されていた。ロザリトからエンセナダまでの80 kmの自転車レースだ。ワイナリーツアーのあとエンセナダ港に戻る時交通規制による渋滞に巻き込まれた。レースは海沿いのパシフィックコーストハイウエー沿いで行われていた。30～60分の渋滞だった。

エンセナダのダウンタウンでワイナリーツアーのバスを下車し、シーフードレストランを探して歩くこと20分。メキシカン風シーフードのお店ならどこでも良かったが、なかなかない。アメリカ系資本のバーやイタリアンばかりが目に付く。
数百数千のアメリカンらが飲んではしゃいでいた。

やっと「マリスコス・ムエヨ・ヴィエホ」というシーフードレストランを発見。そこは最初にバスを降りたところから半丁ほどだった。本当はあわびを食べたかったが、一人前46ドルもする。4年前車で行ったときの2倍の値段なのでやめた。「えび、たこ、いかのにんにくバターいため」と「白身魚のにんにくバターいため」を注文。メキシカン・ビールをできたてトティアチップスとサルサソースで食べながら料理を待つ。暑い日に歩きまわったあとの冷えたビールは最高でした。料理も新鮮で美味しかった。

When we visited Ensenada, Mexico, on Saturday, 4/19/08,
they were having an international cycling tour from Rosarito to Ensenada.

The world famous Cycling Tour Rosarito-Ensenada is a journey of 50 miles leaving from the Benito Juarez Avenue in Rosarito Beach, journey includes the coastal route to the town of Mission, and then introduced the fields interior, through the road free number 1, reaching the target the port of Ensenada, where the party continues until sunset.

There were thousands of visitors in the town, and due to the cycling race, the traffic along PCH, Pacific Coast Highway was backed up for 30 to 60 minutes.

On the way back from the winery tours, my friend and I got off the tour bus in downtown Ensenda and looked for a seafood restaurant. We walked and walked for 20 minutes to find one.
There were so many American established bars and Italian restaurants in downtown Ensenada with lots of American visitors, maybe thousands of them, drinking and talking, and being really noisy.
We went to a wrong direction. A seafood restaurant, Mariscos Muelle Viejo, was there at a half block away from where we got off the bus.

At the restaurant, we wanted to eat abalone, but it was $46 per order. It was too expensive.
We ordered "Shrimp, Octopus, Squid, with garlic and sauteed" and "White Fish with garlic and sauteed". Off course, we ordered Mexican beer first and munched with tortilla chips and salsa sauce. The food was really tasty and fresh. The cold beer was great after walking around for 20 minutes in the town. It was sunny and hot.　We wished we could have stayed there longer for a dinner and order abalone.

There are McDonald's, Burger King, Papas Beers, and etc., but there is no Taco Bell in Mexico.
