Happy Valentine's Day: St.Valentine's Day is celebrated on Feb. 14th, in Japan as a day girls give chocolates to boys. In USA, it's a day a man gives gifts to his girlfriend or wife, or a couple exchanges gifts, or family members gift each other. The popular gifts are Red Rose bouquets, Chocolates, Jewelry, Perfume, lingerie, and etc.

There are heart-shaped Paradise (Chiffon) Cakes and Guava Cakes... Pretty!

There are hear-shaped Dark Chocolate Cakes, too...

こちらはいつも売ってるブルーベリーマフィン、パイナップルマフィン、ダークチョコレートマフィンなど。

Blueberry Muffin, Pineapple Muffin, Dark Chocolate Muffin, etc. They are always sold there.



2月8日のランチタイムにこんだけ買ってきました。2月10日から14日の間は、イチゴのチョコレート・ディップがけを１ダース$24.95で販売してるそう。

I got this much for myself during lunch time on Feb. 8, 2012. They are selling Chocolate Dipped Strawberries for $24.95 per dozen between Feb. 10 and 14, 2012.

映画『二重被爆』、『二重被爆～語り部・山口彊の遺言』、『運命の背中』を4月16日アーバインに観たさい休憩時間に映画館の隣にある『Champagne Cafe』で見つけた絶品メレンゲを紹介します。
(ストロベリーバニラメレンゲ/Strawberry Vanilla Meringue↓)

"Great Meringue, Champagne Cafe": We found them when we went to see the movies,"The Back of Destiny", "Twice Bombed, Twice Survived", and "Twice Bombed The Legacy of Yamaguchi Tsutomu" on April 16, 2011 in Irvine. The cafe was located next door of the movie theater.

ケーキとコーヒーで軽く休憩したかったのですが、前の客が時間かかり時間切れ。
一緒に映画観に行ったブロ友のワニさんがメレンゲやマカロン大好物。お値段も1袋＄５とお手ごろだったのでチョコレート入りのを購入。ワニさんも同じもの買ってました。

We wanted to take a coffee break with a cake, but the customer before us took a long time to order, so we were out of time. My blog friend, Wani, went to the movies with me and she loves Meringue and Macaron. I got the one with Chocolate. Wani got the same one. It was $5 per bag.

ストロベリーバニラ・チョコレート・メレンゲは甘さもちょうどよく、ふんわり口の中でトロケマス。かなりの量ありましたが、2日で無くなりました。美味しかったです。

Strawberry Vanilla Chocolette Meringue tasted great. The sweetness was just right, and it was soft and melt it in your mouth. One bag was a lot of volume, but I finished it in 2 days. They were delicious.

M&M　などを作っているマアーズ社の社長婦人「エッセル」さんが1911年に自宅台所で始めた高級チョコレート。ラスベガスに工場と販売店ありあとはネット通販のみです。防腐剤を使用してないので、製造から３週間が賞味期限です。

Ms. Ethel Mars, the first lady of Mars Corporation that makes M&M Chocolates, etc. started making this high-end chocolates in her kitchen in 1911. The factory is located in Las Vegas. They are sold in Las Vegas and On-line shop only. They don' use any preservatives, so the shelf life is 3 weeks from manufacturing.

1箱650円ぐらいでした。

Made in Belgium. Soft Fresh Chocolate inside melts in your mouth. I purchased one box on Feb.11, 2011 at $3.99 to taste it. It was great. I posted photos of the chocolates on my "Valentine's" blog in the morning of Feb.13th. I thought of taking them to my work on Feb.14th, so I went back to Trader Joe's in North Torrance on Sunday, Feb. 13th. It was all sold out! I wonder lots of people in my neighborhood are checking my blog!?

lisaky777--December 16, 2009--I went there on Dec.13 and 15, 2009. The factory tour is open 7 days a week, but it's in production only on weekdays, Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 5 pm. I added music to the video clip on 2/15/2011.

メイド喫茶、LA初登場！『Beach City Baked Donuts』が今週末11月6日と7日メイド喫茶になります。11月6日と7日午後6時半から9時まで。早速初日行ってきました。

"Maid Cafe@Beach City Baked Donuts": The event is being held this weekend, Nov. 6th and 7th from 6:30 pm to 9 pm. The baked donut shop is converted to "Maid Cafe" for 2 nights. I went there on the first night, Nov. 6, 2010.

秋葉原のメイドカフェ「雲雀亭」の女装男の娘KIAちゃん（右）とメイドの女の子たちが『お帰りなさいませ、お嬢様。』とお出迎え。

A boy maid KIA from "Hibari-tei" in Akihabara, Tokyo, and other maid girls greeted me, "Welcome home a princess."

まず入場料兼食券（アイスドーナツとコーヒーかアイスティー）を$11で購入。

First I purchased a ticket at $11. It covers admission fee, a drink (coffee or Iced Tea), and Icy Donut.

希望すれば、メイドさんがアイシー・ドーナツの上に可愛い絵を描いてくれる。
絵を描いてるところ、秋葉原風ジャンケンなど、動画に収めました。

このドーナツは、あの噂のアイスクリーム・ドーナツ。フォークとナイフでいただきました。

A maid will draw cute pictures on an Icy Donut upon request. I took a video clip of a maid drawing pictures on an Icy Donut, doing "jankenpon", Scissor, stone, and paper game,etc.

We ate the Icy Donuts with a knife and a fork.

ジャンケンゲームしたり、キアちゃんや他のメイドさんと話したり、なかなか楽しい。

It was fun doing "Janken" game, chatted with Kia and other maids.

$6で、プリクラ写真を撮影し、飾りをつけ、お土産にくれます。ついでにデジカメでも　ハイ、ポーズ！

With another $6, they take a pre cra photo, a small photo for a souvenir. I asked for extra photos taken with my digital camera.

午後7時ごろ到着。16分ほど並び、相席させてもらいました。混んでる場合、30分の時間制限あり。

Maid Cafe is being held on Nov. 6 and 7, 2010 from 6:30 pm to 9 pm, the last entry at 8:30 pm. I got there around 7 pm and waited in line for 16 minutes. There is a 30 minute time limit when people are waiting in line.

聖林日本語学園 (Hollywood Gakuen)で日本語を学ぶ現地のオタクや学生たちとの交流あり、収益金は一部同じ学園の基金にあてられるらしい。

There are friendship gathering of local "otaku" and students from Hollywood Japanese Language School. A part of the revenue will benefit Hollywood Japanese Language School fund.

11月11日と12日はパサディナ・ヒルトンで、パシフィック・メディア・エクスポがあるらしいです。

The place is a baked donut shop. I wondered how to convert it to a maid cafe, then, I decided to draw pictures on donuts.

I studied drawing of ketchup on Omelet Rice at a maid cafe in Akiwabara, Japan.

I heard there will be Ice Cream, Pocky snacks, and "Hoopla" (Quoit, or throwing rings) games, etc. for fun. Are they doing the Hoopla games, thinking of "donuts"?

先週土曜日ハロウイン・ドーナツを取りに行ったとき、長い行列でした。

Last Saturday, it was crowded to pick-up Halloween Special Donuts.

ブロ友のわにさんは同じレドンドビーチ市在住。同市の水蒸気発電所に見学に行ったそう。（映画、ドラマでおなじみのあの場所に潜入←）「ターミネーター」シリーズや「ダイ・ハード」等の映画や、ＣＳＩシリーズ、２４などのTVドラマドラマなどいろいろな映画やＴＶの撮影が行われたアメリカで2番目に古い水蒸気発電所とか。最古の水蒸気発電所は存在しないそう。シュワッチネーガーカリフォルニア州知事の写真も飾ってあったそう。

My blog friend Wani and I talked for a long time. She visited a steam power plant in Redondo Beach a few weeks ago. The "Terminator" and "Die Hard" movie series, "CSI" and "24" TV drama shows were filmed in the power plant. It's the second oldest steam power plant in U.S.A. The oldest power plant does not exist any more. She saw a photo of Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger with his autograph displayed in the power plant.

It's individually wrapped and easy to eat. It will be OK for 3 days in a room temperature. It will last a few days longer in a refrigerator.

長いこと2人でお喋りしていたら、オーナーのコージさんもお喋りに合流。コージさんは大阪出身。
この焼きドーナツを1セット作るのに2時間半かかるそう。去年6月開店当時は、午前3時に店に来て、午前5時半から開店し、午後6時閉店。あとかたづけをしてたら、午前12時になり、寝る時間がなかったとか。。。営業時間をじょじょに変えて落ち着いたそう。

We were chatting for a long time, and the owner, Koji, joined our conversation. Koji is from Osaka, Japan. He told us it takes 2 and a half hours to make 1 set of baked donuts. He opened the shop in June of 2009. At first he came to the shop at 3 am and opened the shop from 5:30 am. The closing time was 6 pm. He cleaned up the shop, and it became 12 am. he had no time to sleep. Gradually he changed the hours to the ones he has now.

風月堂の桜餅。３月13日バルボア公園での桜花見のあと、ミツワマーケット・サンタモニカ店に寄ると、風月堂のブライアン・キトさんが店頭で実演販売してました。

When cherry trees are in bloom, it's a season for Sakura Mochi, Cherry Rice Cake. Freshly made Sakura Mochi, Cherry Rice Cakes look delicious!


3月13日と14日はミツワ・サンタモニカ店。20日と21日、27日と28日はミツワ・コスタメサ店で桜餅を実演販売する予定、とのこと。他の種類の餅も販売してました。ここのチョコレート餅、美味しいです！
Brian said he would be at Mitsuwa Santa Monica on March 13 and 14, and at Mitsuwa Costa Mesa for the next 2 weekends, March 20, 21, 27, and 28, 2010, making and selling Sakura Mochi Rice Cakes and other Rice Cakes. I like their Chocolate Rice Cakes, too. They taste great!


3種類の桜餅が4個入ったのを1パック購入。1パック4ドルぐらいでした。
I purchased a pack of Sakura Mochi Rice Cakes with 3 kinds of Sakura Mochi. It was around $4 a pack.

今年は急に寒くなったせいかロサンゼルスの桜の満開時期が少し遅くなりました。サウスベイの桜は3月18日ごろから満開です。今週末、サウスコースト植物園、トーレンス190番とプレーリーの公園などの桜が見ごろです。

This year it got cold all of sudden, and the cherry blossom in Los Angeles got delayed little bit. Cherry trees in South Bay area are full bloom from around March 18, 2010. It's a great time to see the cherry blossoms this weekend, such as South Coast Botanic Garden and a park at 190th street and Prairie Ave. in Torrance.

3月7日『85℃ ベーカリーカフェ』に行きました。『くら回転すし』の並びにあり台湾から進出。行列のある人気ベーカリーカフェです。日曜昼過ぎで混んでました。中に入るのに28分待ち。

"85℃ Bakery Cafe": We went there on March 7, 2010 after visiting "Kula Revolving Sushi". It's located in the same corner mall in Irvine, California. It's a very popular bakery cafe from Taiwan. It was Sunday afternoon and very crowded. We waited 28 minutes to get in.

店右側に100種以上の焼きたてパンが並びます。写真撮影は禁止されているので、少しだけ隠し撮りしました。
There are over 100 kinds of freshly baked hot bakeries on the right side. No photography is allowed, so I took a few sneak shots.


値段もお手ごろ。1個$1～$1.25。ベーカリーをトレイに載せ2番目の列に並び支払いします。
Reasonable Pricing. It's $1 to $1.25 per a bakery item. After picking bakery items on a tray, you wil l line up at the 2nd line to pay at the bakery cashier.


100種近いケーキ類が店中央にずらっと並びます。注文したあと3番目の列に並び支払いします。
There are about 100 kinds of pastries displayed at the center of the cafe. After ordering pastries, you will line up at the 3rd line to pay for the pastry items.


ケーキ類は1個$3.25ほど。ホールケーキは1個$16~$25ほど。お手ごろな値段です。
Sliced cakes are around $3.25 per piece. Whole Cakes are around $16 to $25 per cake. Reasonable pricing.

焼きたて熱々アーモンドパンを1個外のテーブルで食べました（左）、お持ち帰りしたパン（右）
イカ墨パンは2個入り＄１。あとトマト・ベージルパン、ブルーベリーパン、ホールグレイン・パンなどを購入。

I had a freshly baked, hot Almond Bread at the outside patio (Right), and took the rest of the bakeries (Right). Squid Ink Bread was $1 for 2 pieces, I got Tomato Basil Bread, Blueberry Bread, Whole Grain Bread, etc.

店の左側に、コーヒー、紅茶、エクスプレッソ、ラテ、ボバティーなど飲み物用長い行列がありました。こちらは40分待ちかもっとかも。日曜午後がたぶん一番混みます。30分並んで入り出るのに1時間以上かかることを覚悟して行きましょう。

At the left side, there was another long line for drinks, such as Coffee, Tea, Espresso, Latte, Boba Tea, etc. It will be 40 minutes wait for this drink line. Probably Sunday afternoon is the busiest. Prepare to wait 30 minutes in line to get in and more than 60 minutes to get out of there.

もうすぐバレンタインデーですね。バレンタインデーに最適なデザートを紹介します。2月7日第44回NFLスーパーボール開催。今年もランチョＰＶのマークさん宅のパーティーに呼ばれ、デザートと寿司を作り持参しました。チョコがけフルーツのデザートです。

"Dolci Frutta, Chocolate Covered Fruits": Valentine's Day is just around the corner. I will introduce a great dessert good for Valentine's Day. Last Sunday, on Feb. 7, 2010,the 44th NFL Superbowl was held. I was invited to a party at Mark's place in Rancho Palos Vedes. I made and took a Dessert plate and a large Sushi plate with Futomaki Rolls and California Rolls. This is Chocolate Covered Fruit Desserts.

"Dolci Frutta(ドルチフルータ)"という商標。COSTCOでイチゴ売り場にありました。他大手スーパーマーケットにもあると思います。1箱に8 OZパック4個入り。$6弱でした。イチゴは２ポンド(約900グラム)で＄７でした。

"Dolci Frutta", I found them at COSTCO near fresh Strawberries. Other large supermarkets might have them, too. There are 4 packs, 8 OZ each in a box. Strawberries were $7 for a 2 pound pack.

第1回目、1月30日にまず試作。
イチゴを良く洗い、ペーパータオルでふき、ドルチフルータを電子レンジで2分。説明書には30秒ごとかき混ぜるよう指示あり。イチゴを1個ずつ溶けたチョコに浸して、ワックスペーパーをひいた大皿に置いて乾かします。乾いたらできあがりです。チョコが溶けてるうちに試食しましたが、乾いてからの方が美味しかったです。

First Time: I tried on Jan. 30, 2010.
Wash the Strawberries and dry them with paper towel well. Heat "Dolci Frutta" in a microwave oven for 2 minutes. The instruction said to stir it every 30 seconds. Dip one strawberry at a time in melted Chocolate and place it on a plate with Waxed Paper to dry. It's done when the Chocolate is dry. I ate a few while the Chocolate is still melted, but it did not taste good that much. Dried Chocolate Covered Strawberry tasted much better.


第2回目、2月7日。スーパーボールパーティーに持参。。
今回は新鮮なイチゴ２ポンド、バナナ3本、ドルチフルータ2パック使用。新鮮なパイナップルも用意しましたが、チョコがなくなったのでやめました。トレーダージョーズのホワイトベーキングチップでも試しましたがうまく溶けませんでした。彩りに3個だけ、白いホワイトチップを溶かしたものをのせました。

Second Time, Feb 7, 2010, Superbowl Sunday I took it to the party.
I prepared 2 pounds of fresh Strawberries, 3 pieces of Bananas, 2 packs of "Dolci Frutta", a fresh Pineapple, and Trader Joe's White Baking Chips. Before I tried Pineapple, the 2 packs of "Dolci Frutta" was gone, so I did not make it with Pineapple. Trader Joe's White Baking Chips did not melt well. I pasted some melted White Baking Chips on top of three Strawberries for the decoration.

大皿にのせ乾かしたあと、タッパーに入れパーティーに持参しました。このあと太巻きとカリフォルニアロール寿司を作りました。

I dried them on a large plate and packed them in a Tupperware. Also I cooked Futomaki Roll Sushi and California Roll Sushi and took them to Superbowl party that day.

毎年冬場は高級チョコレート店でもイチゴやバナナのチョコレートがけを販売してます。バレンタイン用ギフトやデザートに最適です！
アメリカではバレンタインデーは、男性から恋人や伴侶(女性または男性)にバラの花束、宝石、チョコレート、セクシーな下着、などがバレンタインに贈られます。親子間でもいいし。。。。日本のように男性が女性から義理チョコや本命チョコをもらう日とは違います。

In Winter, many Chocolate Specialty shops sell Chocolate Covered Strawberries and Bananas, too. These are great for Valentine's Day gifts and desserts!
On Valentine's Day in USA, usually Men send gifts of a Rose bouquet, Jewelries, Chocolates, sexy lingerie, etc. to the loved ones (women or men). The gifts are exchanged among family, too..... It's different from Japanese custom of women giving chocolates to men, giri-choch (obligation chocolates) and honmei-choko (Chocolates to loved ones---boyfriends, husbands, and lovers).

1965年創業の老舗『スタンズ・ドーナツ』の『ヒュードーナツ』を食べました。同僚ビルとジョーが1月23日土曜日できたてを１ダース買い月曜日会社に持ってきてくれました。UCLA(カリフォルニア大学ロサンゼルス校)のある街ウエストウッドにあります。

"Stan's Corner Donut Shoppe": It's established in 1965 and known as the oldest and the best donuts shop in Los Angeles, I had its "Huell Donuts". My coworker Bill and Joe got a dozen of freshly made donuts last Saturday, Jan. 23 at the shop in Westwood where UCLA (University of California Los Angeles) is located and brought them to work last Monday.

テレビのグルメ番組でお馴染のヒュー・ハウザーがたびたび訪れるこのドーナツ屋。彼が好きなこのヒュードーナツは中にピーナツバターが入り、周りはチョコレートとチョコレートチップがけです。たぶんワールド・フェーマス・ピーナツバタードーナツの中の1種です。
The TV Gourmet reporter, Huell Howser frequents this donuts shop. Huell loves this "Huell Donuts" with Peanut Butter inside with Chocolate and Chocolate chips outside. It's probably a kind of "WORLD FAMOUS PEANUT BUTTER DONUTS".


ヒュードーナツは変わった味でした。ピーナツバターとチョコレートと砂糖が混じった甘みです。できたてアツアツの方が美味しいでしょうね。ハリウッドスターもこの店でよく見かけられてます。

"Huell Donuts" had a very unique taste. It was a combined sweetness of Peanut Butter, Chocolate, and Sugar. Probably hot oven fresh peanut butter donuts will be much tastier. Many Hollywood celebrities have been seen at the donuts shoppe often.

12月20日『85℃ ベーカリーカフェ』に行きました。『くら回転すし』に行ったあとその並びにあるこの行列店をのぞいてみました。アーバイン市にあります。台湾から進出した人気ベーカリーカフェのようです。

"85℃ Bakery Cafe": We went there on Dec.20, 2009 after visiting "Kula Revolving Sushi" for the first time. It's located in the same corner mall in Irvine, California. It seems to be a very popular bakery cafe from Taiwan.

中も外も大勢の客で賑わいます。客層もいろいろです。
It's crowded both outside and inside the bakery cafe. The customers are mixed in varieties.


写真撮影禁止と注意されたのでこそこそ隠し撮りしました。美味しそうなケーキがもっとたくさんあります。
I was told "No Photography", so I took some sneaking shots. There were many more good looking cakes.


季節柄クリスマスケーキがいろいろあり、注文受付中でした。
There were many kinds of Christmas cakes, and they were taking orders in advance.

調理パンや菓子パンもいろいろありました。値段もお手ごろです。

There were many kinds of snack bread and sweet bread. The pricing is reasonable.

あんパン、ねぎパン、イカ墨パン、フレンチチーズパンを購入。$4.50ぐらいでした。
あんパンは１個１ドルでコシあんとつぶあんあり。あんの量は少なめでした。

I purchased Red Bean Bread, Green Onion Bread, Japanese Squid Ink Bread, and French Cheese Bread for $4.50. The Read Bean Bread was $1 each, and it had two kinds: Smashed Red Beans or with Grain.

イカ墨パンはガーリック味でまるでイカ墨パスタのような味付けでした。ケーキもお持ち帰りしたかったけれど、パンとは違うまた別の列に並ばなければならず、断念しました。またの機会にします。エクスプレッソ、コーヒーや紅茶、ボバティーなどもありました。

The Japanese Squid Ink Bread had Garlic taste and it tasted like Japanese Squid Ink Pasta. We wanted to get cakes to go, but there was another line for cakes, after lining and paying for the breads. They also had Espresso, Coffee, Tea, Boba Tea, etc.

先週日曜『Casa Arigato』のケーキをお持ち帰りしました。和洋融合したやさしい味。サウス・レドンドビーチにあります。

"Casa Arigato": Last Sunday I got some cakes here to go. Their cakes are kind and mild taste of European and Japanese fusion. It's in South Redondo Beach.

カフェのすぐ左側は太平陽の海とビーチが広がります。店は左がすし屋で右がカフェ。
地下に無料駐車場あり。

There are Pacific Ocean and Beach on the left side. They have a "Sushi Restaurant" on the left and a Cafe on the right. Free parking is available in the basement.

ここの名物はシフォンケーキ。何種類もあります。ジョーンズ(犬用)ケーキやクッキーもいろいろあります。

They are famous for Chiffon Cakes with many varieties. They also have several kinds of John's (dog's) cakes and cookies. I got 4 cakes after wondering which ones to get.

迷いに迷い買ったのがこちらの4種。
ストロベリーシフォンショート（左）、抹茶あずきロール（右）
どちらもスポンジケーキがふんわりしっとりなめらかで甘さ控えめ。美味しい！

Strawberry Chiffon Short (Left) and Green Tea Red Bean Roll (Right).
Both have soft and silky smooth sponge cakes and mild taste with reduced sugar. So good!

チーズケーキはふわふわで和風。甘さもチーズも控えめ。
バナナチョコレートムースは1度に2種食べられお得な気分。上下違う味。

Cheesecake is very soft and mild taste with reduced sugar and cheese. Banana Chocolate Mousse gives two different cakes at the same time, Chocolate Mousse on upper and Banana Cake on the bottom.

11月15日、『風月堂』を舞台にした劇『Nihonmachi-The Place to be』を観た。『風月堂』は1903年ロサンゼルス市リトル東京に創業の和菓子屋。

"Fugetu-Do" and "Nihonmachi-The Place to be": On Nov. 15, 2009, I saw a musical play, "NihonmachiThe Place to be" based on a story of "Fugetsu-Do", a Japanese confectionery. It was founded in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles, in 1903.

このミュージカル劇は、リトル東京公共安全協会交番主催、グレートフル・クレーン・アンセンブル・プロダクション制作。アラタニ日米劇場にて11月15日午後2時から開催されました。

This musical play was presented by "Little Tokyo Public Safety Association, Koban" and created by "A Greateful Crane Ensemble Production". It was performed at Aratani Japan America Theatre from 2 PM on Nov. 15, 2009.

ストーリーは、創業９９年の和菓子屋『さくら堂』の３代目オーナーのアランが、跡継ぎがいないため店をたたむことを決意する。息子は開業医の歯医者、娘は大手マーケティング会社勤務だった。
祖父に当たる初代オーナーのサンキチが幽霊となってアランの前に現れ、９９年前創業してから『さくら堂』や日系人の日本町で起こった楽しいできことや苦難をたくさんの日本の歌謡曲（おもに美空ひばりさんの曲）とアメリカの歌謡曲の歌声にのせ、アランに見せる。


The story is: Alan, the 3rd generation owner of "Sakura-Do", a Japanese confectionery shop decides to close his family business of 99 years, because there is no one to succeed the business. His son became a dentist with his own practice. His daughter works for a large marketing firm.
Sankichi, the first generation owner and his grand-father appears as a ghost. Sankichi shows Alan of fun things and struggles happened in Nihonmachi (Japanese Town) over the years with lots of Japanese pop songs ( mostly of Hibari Misora) and some American pop songs of 60's and 70's.


１５分の休憩をはさみ、午後４時40分頃終了。そのあと、別館で、『風月堂』和菓子、餅とお茶のリセプション。３代目オーナーのブライアン・キト（鬼頭）さんと劇団員自ら、お餅を振舞ってくれました。
柔らかく熱い切り餅に醤油と海苔を付けた餅、チョコレート餅、イチゴ餅、名物栗饅頭、大福餅、スアマ餅など。

It finished around 4:40 PM with a 15 minute intermission. After the play performance, there was a reception with "Fugetsu-Do" sweets, Rice Cakes, and Green Tea at a separate hall. Brian Kito, the 3rd generation owner of "Fugetsu-Do" and the actors of the play served Rice Cakes. There was soft plain Mochi (Rice Cake) with Soy Sauce and Nori Seaweed, Chocolate Mochi (Rice Cake), Strawberry Mochi (Rice Cake), the famous Kuri Manjyu (Chestnut Cakes), and Daifuku Mochi (Soft Rice Cakes with Red Beans).

The ticket was a "Sponsor ticket" to support Little Tokyo Koban. I got a T-shirt, Chestnut Cake, Strawberry Rice Cake, Green Tea bags, and Chocolate as a gift.


リセプション・ホールの表では和菓子や餅を販売してました。和菓子４個入り＄４、つきたての餅12個$3で購入。

They were selling Swees and Rice Cakes outside of the reception hall. I purchased a pack of 4 Sweets at $4 and a bag of 12 plain Rice Cakes at $3.

風月堂社長のブライアン・キトさんは、リトル東京公共安全協会交番の会長でもある。この劇はその非営利団体の募金活動でもある。1996年にリトル東京に設置された交番は、ロサンゼルス市警察の指導のもと、ボランティアが自転車で街をパトロールする。リトル東京はロサンゼルス市内で最も犯罪率が低下した地域として有名らしい。近くのチャイナ・タウンもリトル東京の交番をモデルとして、自治パトロールを始めたそう。

Brian Kito, a President of "Fugetsu-Do" is also a President of "Little Tokyo Public Safety Association, Koban". This play served as a fund-raising of the association. "Little Tokyo Public Safety Association, Koban" was established in Little Tokyo in 1996. Volunteers got patrol training by LAPD, Los Angeles Police Department. They patrol Little Tokyo by bicycles. Little Tokyo is known as a community with the most decrease in the crime rates in city of Los Angeles. The adjacent China Town learned from Little Tokyo as a role model and started to do patrols.

『幸せはこぶたい焼きくん』。最近週末だけガーディナ市にあるマルカイパシフィックマーケット店頭にこの屋台が現れます。タピオカ粉を使用しているので白く、外はパリパリ、中はモチモチしています。11月1日買ってみました。

"Happy White Taiyaki" : A vending cart appears only on weekends at the entrance of Marukai Pacific Market in Gardena city. Tapioca starch is used, so it looks white and it is crispy outside and soft inside. I bought some last Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009.

漫画を買い、帰宅して袋を見ると、2個しかありません。4個のつもりが、まちがえて3個入れてたみたいです。次回からは、買ったときに確認します。

I showed a coupon and purchased $5 worth of Happy Taiyaki. I ate one in my car right away. It's hot, soft, and tasty! It's crispy outside, and it's fluffy like Rice Cakes inside, using Koshi-an (strained Red Beans)!

After getting comic books at near-by store, I took the rest home. I thought I will find 3 more Happy Taiyaki's, but there were only 2. Next time I will make sure I am getting 4 pieces with the coupon.

10月31日午後6時噂の焼きドーナツ屋『Beach City Baked Donuts』に初めて行きました。家から車で3分ぐらい、Redondo Beach市内、PCH沿いBeryl Street の少し北側にありました。

"Beach City Baked Donuts": On Oct.31, 2009, I went there for the first time. It was 3 minute driving distance from my house, located along PCH and little north of Beryl Street in Redondo Beach.

土曜日は午後6時閉店。ぎりぎり間に合いました。

It tastes gentle like Donuts my grand mother in Japan used to make. It's baked, so low on calories and low on sugar. It's not that sweet.

１ダース買うと２個無料のクーポンがあったので、ハニー以外の７種類を２個ずつ購入。このクーポンは10月31日まで有効でした。

I got 2 each of 7 kinds of mixed donuts, because

常温で３日間保存可能だそう。ただし涼しい場所で。。。。冷蔵庫に入れた場合は、５秒から１０秒電子レンジで加熱するといいそう。

It can be stored at a room temperature in a cool room for up to 3 days. If you place them in a refregirator, you can heat it up in a microwave for 5 seconds or 10 seconds.

あれこれ試して美味しかった。チョコレートチップやココアよりも、サツマイモ、キナコ、抹茶などの和風テーストの方がいけました。

I tried 7 kinds, and they were all good, but I liked Japanese tastes, such as Sweet Potato, Golden Soy, and Macha Green Tea, rather than Chocolate Chip and Cocoa.






関西方面出身の若く謙虚なカップルがなさってるお店です。応援したくなりました。またどこかにクーポン出してくれるといいですね。。。。

10月31日トーレンスとアンザ通りの角を通ると「ハロウイーン・スペシャル＄１フローズン・ヨーグルト」の旗が。パビリオン・ヴォンズモール内『Bomball Frozen Goodies』でこのスペシャルを出してました。ロサンゼルス国際空港から南に25分車で行ったトーレンス市南西地区にあります。

"Halloween $1 Frozen Yogurt@Bomball": On Oct. 31, 2009, I drove by Anza and Torrance Blvd. and saw a flag, "$1 Frozen Yogurt for Hallween Special!" It's located at the corner of Vons Pavillion Mall. It's located in south west Torrance city, about 25 minutes driving distance from Los Angeles International Airport.

『アンザ寿司』の2軒左隣です。フロントガラスにも、「ハロウイーン＄１フローズンヨーグルト」と書かれてるました。

It's located 2 doors left of "Anza Sushi" Restaurant. It says, "Halloween $1 Frozen Yogurt" on the front window.


青と白で統一された店内。店員さんにやり方を説明してもらいました。

小さいカップ1個に好きなだけヨーグルトを詰め、1個1ドルとのこと。トッピングは別のボールに別払いで計り売りとのことです。

The interior is coordinated with blue and white. I asked the shop keeper to explain me how I can get the $1 Frozen Yogurt.

She said I can put any Frozen Yogurt I like in a small cup, and it will be $1. And the toppings will be charged separately in a separate bowl by weight.

これだけで$1.50でした。
ヨーグルトは10種ありました。チョコレート、バニラ、ピンク・レディー、ピーナッツバター、クッキー・クリーム、タロ、ジャングル・ボーイ、ピナコラーダ、ざくろ、ココナッツ。

店中にとさか頭（モヒカン刈り)の高校生が数名いました。ハロウイーンの仮装なのかいつもどうりの装いなのか不明です。。。
There were some high school students with Mohikan hair. I am not sure it was a part of the costume for Halloween or a regular hair style.

『Golden Spoon』、 『PinkBerry』、 『Yogurt Island』などと数ブロックしか離れてません。トーレンス西南地区はフローズン・ヨーグルトの激戦区になりました。

There are "Golden Spoon", "PinkBerry", and "Yogurt Island" just a few block away from here. The South West Torrance area became the highly competitive market for Frozen Yogurt.

フェースブックのページによれば、この『Bomball Frozen Goodies』では、『ボンボール・チャレンジ』なるフローズンヨーグルト大皿大食い競争もあるそう。。。巨大なフローズンヨーグルト大盛りを15分内に食べ終わると無料。その巨大マティニーグラスを贈呈。ダメなら30ドルとか。。。

25日日曜ロサンゼルス・エンジェルスはニューヨーク・ヤンキースに第6試合で敗退。アメリカンリーグ優勝はヤンキースでした。28日水曜からいよいよヤンキース対フィリーズの優勝戦が始まります。

When you go to a ML baseball stadium, you will see "Cracker Jack" snacks being sold. It's caramel coated popcorns and peanuts. I will write about some stories behind "Cracker Jack".

In 1896--Louis Rueckheim, F.W.'s brother and partner, discovers the process for keeping the molasses-covered popcorn morsels from sticking together. Louis gives the treat to a salesman who exclaims, "That's crackerjack!" "So it is," says F.W. Rueckheim, who then has the words trademarked.

先週日曜『Yogurt Island』トーレンス店でフローズンヨーグルトを食べました。自宅の給湯ボイラーが壊れ2ヶ月ぶりにジムに。。。銭湯がわりにサウナ、スチームルーム、シャワーを浴びると、ジムの隣にこの店があります。去年の9月オーブン。

"Yogurt Island@Torrance": Last Sunday I had frozen yogurt at this store. A water heater/boiler at home got broken, so I went to my gym for the first time in 2 months to relax in the sauna, steam room, and to take a shower. After that I saw this shop, right next to the gym. This shop opend in September of 2008.

セルフサービス。ヨーグルトもトッピングも重さ1オンス当たり35セントです。フレーバーはバニラ（無砂糖）、チョコレート（無砂糖）、ストロベリー、パイナップル、青りんご、ココナツ、ニューヨークチーズケーキ、ハワイアンディライト、マンゴなど12種類。

トッピングも自分で好みのものをかけ、計りにのせて支払いします。

It's Self-Service and 35 cents per ounce. There are 12 Flavors including Vanilla (no sugar), Chocolate (no sugar), Strawberry, Pineapple, Green Apple, Coconut, New York Cheesecake, Hawaiian Delight, Mango, etc.

You will add toppings as you like and place the cup on the scale to pay.

チョコレート（無砂糖）、パイナップル、ハワイアン・ディライト・ヨーグルトにキーウイーとラズベリーがけ。
軽そうなトッピングを少しかけたので、$1.69と安く済みました。

Because I added little bit of light-weight toppings, it was $1.69, pretty cheap!

月曜の晩仕事帰りにジムへ行き、またここに来ました。夜11時か12時まで開いてるそう。

Monday eveing I went to the gym after work and came here again. They are open until 11 pm or 12 midnight.

しばらく銭湯（ジム）通いが続きそうなので、ここのヨーグルトを試す機会も多そうです。パームスプリング側のラキンタに本社があり、あとはこのトーレンス、オークリー（サンフランシスコ近く）、テメキュラしか情報が探せませんでした。あまりホームページに力を入れてないようです。それほど甘くなく味はまーまーです。何より1オンス当たり35セントと安い！

For a while, I will be going to my gym for shower, so I have a plenty of opportunity to try their frozen yogurt. Their headquarter is located in La Quinta near Palm Springs. Other shops I found on the Internet is this Torrance location, Oakley (near San Francisco), and Temecula. Their home page does not give much information.　It's not too sweet and so so good for the price, 35 cents per ounce!

10月11日午前9時半過ぎです。今日は朝7時から10時まで近所のマンハッタンビーチで「トライアスロン大会」開催中です。近辺のビーチ沿い道路が11時まで閉鎖されてるとか。すぐ近くのレドンドビーチに住んでるので、朝5時に起きれたら見に行こうと思ってましたが、遅かったです。。。

It's 9:40 AM on Oct. 11, 2009 now. A "Triathlon race" is being held in Manhattan Beach from 7 AM to 10 AM today. Streets along the beach near-by will be closed until 11 AM. I live in Redondo Beach. 夏といえば『かき氷』。今年はロサンゼルスも冷夏で涼しい日が続いていましたが、今日から土曜日まで暑くなるそう。ダウンタウンＬＡあたりは華氏98度（摂氏37度）、盆地内陸地区は108度（摂氏42度）、ビーチ沿いは87度（摂氏31度）まで気温上昇するそう｡先週末自宅でかき氷作りました。

"Shaved Ice" is great for Summer. It's been cooler in Los Angeles compared to previous years. The forecast says it will be hot from today through Saturday this week. It will go up to 98 F (37 C) in downtown LA, 108 F (42 C) in Valley, and 87 F (31 C) in Beach area. We made "Shaved Ice" at home last weekend.

かき氷の史実上の記録は平安時代に清少納言の『枕草子』「あてなるもの」（上品なもの、良いもの）の段に、金属製の器に氷を刃物で削った削り氷（けずりひ、文中では「けつりひ」）に蔓草の一種である甘葛（あまかづら・あまづら、蔦の樹液または甘茶蔓の茎の汁と思われる）をかけたとして「削り氷にあまづら入れて、新しき金鋺（かなまり）に入れたる」と記述されている。

Ancient Japanese literature, "Makurano Soshi," from the Heian period (794 to 1185) talks about Shaved Ice (snow cone) made by hand with a ice carving device. The first mechanical snow cone-making machine in Japan was patented by Mr Murakami in 1887.

手動の氷削り器を台所の棚から引っ張り出し、ミネラル水で作った氷を入れ削ります。

We pulled out a manual type Ice Shaver from a back of the kitchen cabinet and shaved ice made of mineral water.


ミツワマーケットで買った抹茶味の氷蜜と缶入りあずきで宇治金時のかき氷を作ります。

We will make "Green Tea Red Beans" Shave Ice using Green Tea syrup I got at Mitsuwa Market and a can of biled Red Beans.


けずった氷が皿の半分ほどになったら、抹茶味の蜜をふりかけます。

Pour "Green Tea" syrup all over on ice when you finish shaved ice about a half of one bowl.


その上にさらに氷を削り、山盛りにしたら、また抹茶シロップをかけ、ゆであずきを上の載せる。

Continue shaving ice on top of the other bowl. When you get a full of shaved ice, pour "Green Tea" syrup all over on ice and garnish it with Red Beans.


宇治金時のかき氷が二山できました！いただきま～す！
次回は福岡市西新にある蜂楽饅頭名物『コバルトアイス 』に挑戦します。乳糖とコバルト色のシロップが必要みたいです。

今朝は6時（日本時間午後10時）過ぎからＦＣ２ブログ管理画面にアクセスできませんでした。私のブログと他４つのブログアカントは4時間以上メインテナンスに入ってたとか。。。。便利になった世の中ですが、インターネット不調だったり、ブログ管理サーバーが不調だったりいろいろありますね。のんびり行きましょう！

This morning from 6 AM (10 PM in Japan), I could not access the control menu of FC2 blog server. It seems FC2 was maintaining mine and 4 other blog accounts for over 4 hours..... We live in a convenient world, but sometimes we have problems with Internet access, blog control servers, etc. Let's take it easy!

「豆乳ミニチョコアイス」。トレーダージョーズで見つけました。風呂上りや暑い日にちょっと食べるのに最適。１つずつパックしてあり便利。今年2月から何度も食べました。

"Soy Creamy Mini Chocolate Sandwiches"are sold at Trader Joe's. It's perfect for a little bite after a hot bath or on a hot day. Small pieces are individually packed, and it's convenient. I had it many times since last February.

豆乳、大豆粉、チョコレートを使用。
牛乳や小麦粉アレルギーの人でも食べれる。



It's smaller than a palm.
Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert, using soy milk, soy flour, and chocolate. It's safe for people who are allergic to wheat flour and cow milk.

京都の新和菓子『京乃ぴょうんや』がマルカイ・パシフィック店で限定販売中。7月23日から26日まで。同店で行われている「ハワイアンサマーフェア」に出展中。さっそく昨日金曜日買ってきました。

Chocolate is wrapped with Mochi Rice Cake and coated with chocolate powder. It's a fusion of traditional Japanese sweets and European sweets. It goes well with Green Tea, Black Tea, and Coffee. It can be stored at room tempreture and sealed as it is for 30 days. $10 for 8 pieces in a box. I ate it right away.



7月25日午前10時30分から「マルカイパシフィック」店では、マグロの解体ショーを行い、マグロのトレイ入り1個$10で販売するそう。現金のみ。他にハワイアンダンス、抽選会、屋台など盛りだくさん。行ってこようと思ってます。
Tuna Slicing show will be performed from 10:30 AM, 7/25/09 at Marukai Pacific store as a part of "Hawaiian Summer Fair." There will be Hawaiian dancing, Flea market, Yatai (food stores), and drawings, too. I plan to visit there.

『パイ生ぷりんしゅう』を7月17日ミツワマーケット『九州沖縄展』で見つけ購入。1個$2.80．2個で＄５。その場で窯出しされたシュークリームにできたてカスタード・プリンを詰めたもの。7月16日から19日までミツワトーレンス店にて限定実演販売中。。

“Custard Pudding in a Fresh Cream Puff”:
I found it at “Kyushu Okinawa Fair” at Mitsuwa Market Torrance store on Friday, 7/17/09. They were baking piecrust Cream Puffs, and placing custard pudding in a fresh Cream Puff on site. It was $2.80 for 1 and $5 for 2 pieces set. It’s sold only limited time from 7/16 to 7/19/09 at Mitsuwa Torrance store.

発売元は大分湯布院にある花麹菊家。ぷりんどらや鉄人坂井シェフの鉄人ロールなども売られていました。

こんがり焼かれたシューにカスタードクリームとプリンが入っている。新鮮卵と深いコクの牛乳を使ったプリンと特性のカスタードクリーム、パリパリサクサクットしたパイしゅうのハーモニー。甘さ控えめ。優しいお味でした。

The maker is Hanakoji Kikuya in Yufuin, Oita, Japan. They were also selling “Pudding Pancakes” and “Iron Rolls” made by French Iron Chef, Mr. Sakai.

A Custard Pudding is in a freshly baked Cream Puff. It is a harmony of Custard Pudding made of fresh eggs and tasty milk and crunchy Cream Puffs baked fresh. It was not too sweat and mild and refined taste.

『アイランド・ウエイ・シャーベット』。ピナコラーダ、パイナップル、ココナツ、レモン、マンゴ・オレンジのシャーベットが生の果物殻に入ってる。低脂肪の果物シャーベット。コストコで見つけましたが他のマーケットでも販売してると思います。

Island Way Sorbet:
There are Pina-Coladas, Pineapples, Coconuts, Lemons, and Mango-Oranges Sorbets. Low fat fruit sorbets are in natural fruit shells. We found them at Costco. But I am sure they are sold at other markets as well.

1箱にココナッツ（2個）、パイナップル（2個）、ピナコラーダ（2個）、レモン（3個）、マンゴ・オレンジ（3個）の計12個入りで$12.99ぐらいでした。

There are 12 Sorbets in 1 box--2 Coconuts, 2 Pinapples, 2 Pina-Coladas, 3 Lemons, and 3 Mango-Oranges. It was $12.99 per box.

今年の南カリフォルニアは6月から49日間マリンレーヤー(と呼ばれる海から移動してくる低い雲)の影響で例年より涼しい日が続いています。今週末から少し気温が上がりそう。
暑い日に冷た～く冷やしたフルーツ・シャーベットは、たまらなく美味しいことと思います。フルーツの味を生かしているので甘さは控えめです。

A Marine layer (an air mass which develops over the surface of a large body of water such as the ocean in the presence of a temperature inversion with cooling effect) has been stretching along Southern California for 49 days since June, and it's been extending the lower than the average temperature this year.　It's expected to rise little from this weekend.
It must be so good to have frozen cold Fruit Sorbet on a hot day. It's not too sweet, and you can taste the natural fruit sweetness.

6月30日夕方、サウスベイ・ギャラリア前の『マリー・カレンダー』で目にした、「チョコレート・クリーム・パイ$6.99」のサイン。1度通り過ぎましたが、裏道を曲がって戻り店に飛び込みました。

On 6/30/09 evening, I saw a sign of "Chocolate Cream Pie $6.99" at "Marie Callender's" in front of South Bay Galleria mall. I passed it by, but I drove around alleys to return and entered the restaurant.



自宅に到着するなり、さっそく試食で～す！

I tried a bite of it as soon as I got home!



新鮮ないちごを添えてみました。チョコレートとバニラカスタードをブレンドしたチョコレート・クリームはまろやかでクリーミー。
普段$11.99するこのチョコレート・クリーム・パイが$6.99でした。＄５もお得でした！

I added fresh Strawberries on the side. Chocolate is blended with Vanilla Custard Cream to make the "Chocolate Cream." It's mellow and creamy!
Regularly, Chocolate Cream Pie is $11.99. It was $6.99, so it was good deal for 5 bucks!

この$6.99パイ・セールは6月30日で終了したようです。次にあるときはホームページや店頭にサインが出るのでわかります。

It seems this $6.99 Pie Sale ended on 6/30/09. You will see a sign on their homepage or in front of the restaurants when they have this sale next time.

6月19日断食前最後のデザートは、『ビアードパパ』の『フォンデー・オー・ショコラ』。ここ5年ほどでロサンゼルス郊外あちこちにフランチャイズ店ができた『ビアードパパ』。ハリウッド・ハイランドのモールにもある。ロサンゼルス1号店のガーディナ市マルカイ・パシフィック店フードコートに行った。

直径5センチほどのチョコレート・ケーキ。甘さもにがみも控えめ。中からとろ～りとチョコレートが溶け出す。各店によって値段が違うが、ガーデナ店のは1個$2.25。1個370カロリー。

It's a chocolate cake about 2 inches in diameter. It's not too sweet and not too bitter. Melted chocolate flows out from inside. The pricing is different at each store, but it's $2.25 at this Gardena store. It is 370 calories per piece.

"Beard Papa's" is expanding all over the world through franchising. It has locations in New York, New Jersey, Florida, Washington state, Hawaii, Guam, and Canada. When this first Los Angeles store opened, there was 35 to 40 minute wait to get their creme puffs. Now there is no wait.

　　　『Pinkberry(ピンクベリー)』に昨日初めて行ってきました。西海岸の流行の先端ウエストハリウッドで2005年1月創業以来『ピンクベリー中毒者』やファンが続出の無脂肪、低カロリー、無農薬フローズン・ヨーグルトやスムージーのお店。ロサンゼルスを中心に南カリフォルニアに56店、ニューヨークに14店開店。今年9月には中東クエート店オープン予定。海外にどんどん進出しそうな勢いです。

Pinkberry Frozen Yogurt:
Yesterday I went to "Pinkberry" for the first time. It started out in West Hollywood, a trend setter of West Coast, in January 2005. Since then there are may "Pinkberry addicts" and followers. They serve non-fat, low calories, and organic frozen yogurt and smoothies. It has 56 stores in Southern California with Los Angeles base and 14 stores in New York. In September 2009, they are opening a store in Kuwait, Middle East. It seems they might be opening many stores overseas soon.

韓国出身の韓国系米人でUSC（南カリフォルニア大学）MBA取得したシェリー・ホワングさんと建築家のヤング・リーさんの共同経営で始業。近年スターバックス創業者などからの投資を受けている。
お洒落な店内は建築家のヤング・リーさんのデザイン。癒し系の緑を基調にしている。

It was started by Korean Americans, Shelly Hwang who has a MBA from USC (University of Southern California) and Young Lee who is an architect. Recently the founder of Starbucks and some others have invested in Pinkberry.
The trendy interior design is done by Young Lee. Healing green color is used as a base.

少しずつ抹茶とザクロ味を試食し、オリジナルにいちごのトッピングでオーダー。消費税を入れて$4.32でした。どれも甘みがほとんどなく酸っぱめ。この酸っぱさが中毒の原因だと言ってるファンが多い。
抹茶はほろ苦く、ザクロはさらに酸っぱかったです。
1週間に1回は食べたくなるかも !? 病みつきになるのわかります。

I tasted Green Tea and Pomegranate little by little and ordered Original flavor with Strawberry topping. It was $4.32 with sales tax. All flavors were not sweet and sour. Many fans say Pinkberry's sourness gets them hooked to Pinkberry. Green Tea had bitterness, and Pomegranate is even sour.

I might crave this at least once a week!? I can understand how many people get addicted to this.

　　フラワーフィールドの駐車場では近所のカールスバッドイチゴ農園の採れたて新鮮なイチゴやショートケーキを販売しています。お花見の帰りにストロベリー・ショートケーキ（＄4.50）を食べました。

Strawberry Short Cake@Carlsbad:
At the parking lot of the Flower Fields, they sell Strawberry Short Cake and fresh Strawberries from Carlsbad Strawberry Company, a farm near by the Flower Fields. We stopped by there and shared a Strawberry Short Cake ($4.50) after enjoyed viewing flowers at the Flower Fields.

フラワーフィールドのチケット売り場右奥の店（上の写真）と駐車場入り口近く（下の写真）の2箇所販売スタンドがあります。下の写真のところの方はきちんと生クリームを冷蔵保存していたので、そちらで購入。

There are two sales stands. One is in the right rear of the ticket booth of the Flower Fields (above photo), and the other is at the entrance of the parking lot of the Flower Fields (below photo). We got ours at the one at the below photo, because they kept the Whipping Cream refrigerated at all time.

こちらのスタンドでは、ラナンキュラスの花束も販売。1束5ドルでした。（フラワーフィールドの出口にあるArmstrong Garden Store では1束４ドル。3束買うと1束＄3.50でした。

The stand at the below photo was also selling Ranunculus flower bouquets at $5 per bunch. (It was $4 per bunch or $3.50 per bunch if you buy 3 bunches at Armstrong Garden Store, at the exit of the Flower Fields.)

完熟もぎたてイチゴからは甘い香りがただよいます。１つ味見をさせてもらったら、何もつけなくても甘い。箱入りは16ドル。ラック３つ入りが＄8.50でした。ラック3つ入りを１つ買い2人でシェアしお土産に。

The sweet flagrance floats from the fully ripen freshly picked Strawberries. We sampled one strawberry. It was sweet by itself. The Strawberries in a flat box was $16, and the ones in 3 racks were $8.50 each. We bought one 3 rack strawberries and shared them to take home.

当日夜、ヨーグルトをかけてデザートに。。。。甘くてやわらかい。病み付きになりそうです。。。
翌日、電子レンジを使って抹茶シフォンケーキを作り（5－6分）。缶入り生クリームを買ってきて、残りのイチゴを載せ、イチゴのショートケーキを作りました。

That night we had the Strawberries with Yogurt for desserts. They were sweet and soft. I cannot forget how good they were.....

Next day, I made a green tea sponge cake (took 5 to 6 minutes). I went to get a Whipping Cream in a can and made a Strawberry Short Cake.



手抜き料理です。冷蔵庫で冷やすとスポンジケーキが硬くなりました。電子レンジにかけすぎたかも。。？
材料に「蒸しパンミックス」を使用。そのミックスを水で溶くだけだったのですが、なんとなく卵を1個入れました。入れなかったほうがよかったかも。。。

It's an easy cooking. As I chilled the Strawberry Short Cake, the sponge cake got harder. I might have over-heated it in a microwave oven.

For ingredients, I used "Steamed Bread Mix" that I got at a Japanese market. The instruction said to just add water to that flower mix, but I added one egg, because I felt like it. It was probably better not to add that egg.
