"Pho So 1" Vietnamese Restaurant: We went there for lunch 10 hours ago. It's located at Tozai Plaza Mall, Gardena, CA.

場所はLA郊外ガーディナ市東西プラザモール内です。

2人でシェアーしたいと伝えると、スープ入り容器をもう１つくださいました。（上の写真でご覧ください）。もやしやライムジュースなどを好みの量加えます。

We mentioned we wanted to share the noodle soup among two of us. A spare bowl with soup was served for us. (The photos of the bowls are posted above.) We could add Sprouts and Lime Juice as much as we like them.

春巻きはレタス、キュウリ、人参などを巻いて食べました。美味しかったです。

Egg Rolls can be eaten with Lettus, Cucumber, and Carrots. They were delicious.

カレーハウス・トーレンス店を6月27日に7ヶ月ぶりに訪問しました。30周年で3割引でした。7月1日朝6時から毎朝書こうとして、FC2ブログアクセスが多く載せられませんでした。すみません。

"Curry House": I visited its Torrance branch on 6-27-2013. It was my first visit in the last 7 months. They were offering 30% Off with Ecoupon until 7-3-2013. I tried to write a blog about this since 7-1-2013 every 6 am, but FC2 blog had lots of access and I could not access to write a bog until today. It's 10:30 am now. Sorry.

少し前レドンドビーチの『Kincaid's』で晩餐。食べないようにしていた牛肉を７年ぶりに食べました。ここはステーキ、シーフード、パスタのお店。海の上にあり眺めが絶景。窓側は予約席で内側の席がウオークイン用です。

Kincaid's Restaurant@Redondo: We went there for "Surf & Turf" special dinner for a while ago. I had Beef steak for the first time in 7 years. It's a restaurant on the sea by Redondo Beach pier, offering Steaks, Seafood, and Pasta,etc. Window side tables are for reservation, and several tables near the kitchen are for walk-in customers.

I picked Bar-B-Ques and Baked Potato on a plate to eat. This Potato was huge, about 7 inch long.

They have 3 kinds of Bar-B-Que sauce, Original (Sweet), Hot&Spicy (Medium Spicy), and Memphis (Very Spicy). If you did not specify the sauce upon order, it's cooked with the Original sauce. You can use the ones on your table, too.

The Stone Bowl is heated on gas stove fire until it's very hot. Steamed Rice, Vegetable, Menchi Beef Katsu, and Raw Egg are placed on top of Rice. Hot Curry Sauce is poured on to it. You will mix them to eat. You can get Brown Rice instead of White Rice with $1 more.

This used to be called "Chicken Medallions. It's a favorite of my coworker L.

The first photos is "Shrimp and Chicken Jambalaya." It's my favorite. You get to choose White Rice or Brown Rice. I always get Brown Rice.


ハーフ・アンド・ハーフ

アイスティー半分とレモネード半分。他所の店では、このドリンク好きのゴルファー名、「アーノルド・パーマー」とも呼ばれます。お替り無料でした。

A half Iced Tea and a half Lemonade. At other restaurants, it's called "Arnold Palmer," the golfer, Arnold Palmer, loves this drink. Refills were free.

12時過ぎると混むので、ランチは少し早めに行ったほうがいいです。今回は注文して5分ぐらいで食べ物でてきました。

It gets crowded after 12 pm. It's better to go there little early for lunch. We got our food 5 minutes after we ordered. It was pretty fast.

『キングハワイアン』で先週末ブランチ食べました。トーレンス市南西にあるベーカリー・レストランです。朝食は1日中あります。他にカレーライス、スパム結びなんかもあります。

"King Hawaiian Bakery Restaurant": We went there for a brunch last weekend. It's located on Sepulveda Blvd, East of Maples Street in South West Torrance. It's a bakery restaurant. They serve Breakfast all day, Curry Rice, Spam Musubi, etc.

冒頭の写真は、卵２つの朝食セット。

ベーコン、リンク・ソーセージ、スパム焼き、フリフリチキン、七面鳥ソーセージ、ポルトガル風ソーセージ、または新鮮なフルーツの中から1品を選択。白いご飯か焼飯から1品。トーストかマフィンから1品。
自分はフリフリチキン、炒飯、マフィンにしました。それに卵が２つ。これはオーバーイージー（両面を軽く焼いた目玉焼き）にしました。

Served with your choice of bacon, link sausage, fried spam, Huli Huli Chicken, turkey sausage, Portuguese sausage or fresh fruit. Served with Steamed or Fried Rice and Toast or Muffin. I selected Huli Huli Chicken, Fried Rice, and Muffin. For two eggs, I asked for Over-Easy.

Generous skewers, each coated with panko and coconut flakes. Served with a spicy cucumber relish, ramen salad and steamed rice. A drizzle of our special sauce and our homemade sweet and sour sauce make this dish super delicious.

大きな木に囲まれてハワイっぽい雰囲気の店内です。
午後12時前に7人で到着。人気があるので、30分待ちでした。もう少し待ったかも。

待ってる間に入ってすぐのベーカリーで、マフィンやパンを購入しました。ハロウイン向けの商品もいろいろありました。

It's surrounded by big trees, and you feel like you are in Hawaii. Seven of us got there little before 12 pm. It was 30 minute wait. Maybe little more.

I shopped for Muffins and Bread in the Bakery located at the entrance while we were waiting. There were several Halloween goods there, too.

I got Pineapple Muffin, Pumpkin Muffin, Apple Turn-over Muffin, Blueberry Muffin, and King Hawaiian Sweet Rolls with Butter.

うろこ雲がぷかぷか浮んで晴天。気持ちのいい日でした。

トーレンス南西が遠い人は、数年前からトーレンス北東に姉妹店あります。

There were lots of fish scale clouds in the sky. It was sunny and a comfortable day.

If you think this location in South West Torrance is too far, they opened a sister store in North East Torrance several years ago.

『The Pan』に9月3日レーバーデー祭日のランチに行きました。ガーディナのWestern Ave.沿い、166番の南西角にあります。2年前まで、伊良部投手経営の『Super Udon』だった店舗です。

"The Pan" in Gardena: We went there for lunch on Labor Day, Sept. 3, 2012. It's on Western Ave. at South West corner of 166th Street. This building used to be "Super Udon", managed by a Japanese baseball prayer, Irabu until 2 years ago.
その日は祭日なので午後4時までの営業。パティオも室内席も満席。行列に10人ほど待ってました。

It was a holiday, so they were open only until 4 pm. All tables at the patio and inside are occupied, and more than 10 people were on the waiting list.



美味しいと評判のディープディッシュ・ピザをお持ち帰り用に注文しました。
14インチ（35ｃｍ）サイズの”The Pan Deluxe Pizza"は$19でした。

We ordered a "The Pan Deluxe Pizza" to go. That pizza is a very popular dish here. We ordered 14" size. It was $19.

パンみたいにふんわり柔らかいピザ生地にとろけたチーズたっぷりで美味しい！
ペッパローニ、ソーセージ、マッシュルーム、オニオン、ピーマン、ニンニク片入り。

25分待ちと云われていたけど、実際は35分待ちでした。

The deep dish Pizza crust is fluffy soft like a soft bread. It has lots of melted cheese in it. The topping was Pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, onions, green pepper, and a touch of garlic. We were told to wait 25 minutes, but actually we waited 35 minutes.

朝食メニューが豊富。パンケーキ、ワッフル、クレープ、オムレツなどもあり。昼でも朝食メニューを注文してる人いました。次回はパンケーキかワッフルを試したいです。

They have varieties of Breakfast menu, including Pancakes, Waffles, Crepes, and Omelets. I saw many people ordering Breakfast items during lunch time. Next time I would like to try some Pancakes or Waffles.

『Ya Yaa Thai』で先月夕飯しました。Mちゃんが教えてくれた隠れ家的タイ料理店で料理は全品$5.99と安い! ガーディナ市北東にあります。

Ya Ya Thai Cuisine : We had a dinner there last month. This place is a hideaway, a friend M introduced us, in North East Gardena. The price is great! Every dish is $5.99 each.

8人の会食でしたので、８品以上じゃんじゃん2皿ずつ頼みました。トムヤムクン・スープ、焼き飯、ヌードル、デザートまで、全て$5.99です。ランチもディナーも同じ価格。

There were eight of us, and we ordered more than 8 kinds of dishes, 2 orders each, generously. Everything, including Tom Yum Koon Soup, Fried Rice, Noodles, Desserts, is $5.99 each. The pricing is the same for Lunch and Dinner.

まだ熟せぬ青いパパイヤと人参の千切りを酢で合えたサラダ。唐辛子がピリピリして、かなり辛くて酸っぱい。辛いものと酸っぱいもの好きな人用かも。。！？

Shredded Green Papaya and Carrots are marinated with Vinegar and Red Pepper. It was very spicy and sour. This is for somebody who loves Hot and Sour taste....!?

”シルバーヌードル”とも云う。透明なハルサメのような麺を卵と野菜で炒めたもの。味付けが上品で、美味しかった！日本では”パッド・タイ”が有名ですが、タイではコレが一番人気の麺。

It's also called "Silver Noodle". Clear glass Noodle are sauteed with Eggs and Vegetables. The seasoning was mild and sophisticated. It was delicious! In Japan, "Pad Thai Noodle" is most famous, but this Noodle is the most popular Noodle dish in Thailand.

Sweet Sticky Rice with Mango
蒸したての暖かくて甘いもち米は、おはぎ餅のような感じ。冷たくて新鮮なマンゴと相性バッチリ。お勧めの一品。これはマンゴが出回ってるシーズン限定品。

Steamed Sticky Rice was still warm and sweet. It tastes like "Ohagi" Red Bean Rice Cakes. It matched very well with cold and fresh Mango. It's highly recommended. This dish is available seasonally when Mango is in season.

落ち着いた店内。夕陽が当たるころなので、眩しかったり陰ができたり、写真撮影は難しい時間帯でした。

The interior decor is cool. It was around sun-set time. It was not easy to take photos with bright spots and dark shades.

I did not post a few more photos of "Catfish with Basil" and some other dishes, because the photos were not good. We also ordered some Brown Rice.
They also have "Vegan Menu" for Vegetarians.

人気バーガー店「イン・アンド・アウト」。ここはシンプルさで売ってますが、裏メニューを最近知りました。ロサンゼルス近郊ボールドウインパークに1948年発祥。

"IN-N-OUT Burger"'s Secret Menu: This burger joint opened in Baldwin Park near Los Angeles in 1948. They have simple Beef Hamburger menu and provide good burgers. I recently found out they have a "Secret Menu".

去年12月トーレンス市西側、Hawthorne & Del Amo Blvd.の角に出来た「イン・アンド・アウト」のメニュー。

ここは冷凍されてない、新鮮な牛肉で作ったハンバーガー、じゃがいも100％のフレンチフライ、シェーク、レモネードのお店。チキンバーガーやサラダなどはありません。

They are a hamburger shop with fresh, never-been-frozen, 100% Beef, French Fries made of 100% Potato, Shakes, and Lemonade. They don't serve Chicken nor Salad.

これは、表メニュー。ハンバーグ・パティー2枚とチーズ2枚が入ったハンバーガー。他にレタス、トマト、オニオン（入れるかどうか注文の際にきかれる）が入ってます。

This is a regular menu. There are 2 Hamburger patties, 2 Cheese slices. Lettuce, Tomato, and Onions are included. They will ask whether you like Onions in it or not.

こちらは裏メニュー。ハンバーグ・パティー３枚とチーズ３枚が入ったハンバーガー。他に「フォーバイフォー」の裏メニューもあるそう。

A slice of Cheese, well grilled Onions and Bacon Bits are placed on top of French Fries, and heated in an oven. A Thousand Island Dressing is poured on top. It's good! It can be addictive.

アニマルスタイル：好みのハンバーガーに、レタス、トマト、牛肉パティーをつぶしたのをのせ、ピクルス、焼いたオニオン、エキストラ・ドレッシングをかけたもの。

Animal Style:burger of your choice with hand-leafed lettuce, tomato, a mustard cooked beef patty; add pickle, extra spread with grilled onions.

This was my lunch on Friday recently. A Lemonade, Veggie Burger, French Fries Animal Style.

トマトやレタスは注文の際に在庫管理してないらしく、「エキストラ・トマト・アンド・レタス」と云えば、同じ値段で多く入れてくれるそう。野菜不足をそうやって解消してる人もいるらしい。

Tomato and Lettuce are not their Inventoried items when ordering, so you can say "Extra Tomato and Lettuce" to get more of them at the same price. I heard some people get extra Tomato and Lettuce to get more vegetables in their diet...

夜9時ごろ仕事帰りに前を通ると、いつもドライブスルーに並ぶ行列に驚かされます。仕事帰りにバーガーを買う人、またはジムに行ってその帰りにバーガーを買って帰る人が多いのでしょうね～。。

I pass by here after work around 9 pm. I am often surprised with the line of cars at the Drive Through. Maybe many people get Burgers for dinner after work or after working out at a gym....

海老入りラージサイズは$10.50でした。辛さはマイルドにしてもらいました。酸っぱくてあっさり味です。

We ordered a large size with Shrimps. It was $10.50. We requested mild spiciness. It was sour and refreshing.

パッド・ウーン・セン $9.25
Phad Woon Sen
豆から作った透明なシルバーヌードルを野菜や肉と炒め卵を加えたもの。タイではこれが一番ポピュラーな麺ものメニューだとか。

Stir-fried silver noodles with chicken, mixed vegetable and egg. The waitress told us this is the most popular Noodle menu in Thai.

ディナーのカレーにはライスが付いてないので、玄米を２つ頼みました。

The dinner Curry did not include Steamed Rice, So we ordered 2 Brown Rice.

Duck Red Curry
バーベキューした鴨肉、パイナップル、トマト、バジルが入った贅沢なカレー。美味しかったです。

BBQ duck in special curry sauce with pineapple, tomatoes and basil.　It was delicious.

誕生日だと言ったら、可愛いココナッツアイスクリームにキャンドルを立てて出してくれました。6月28日が誕生日だったので、友人がお祝いしてくれました。

We told the waitress it's for my birthday, and they treated me for a cute Coconut Ice Cream with a candle. My birthday was June 28th, and my friend celebrated it for me.

「ベスト・タイフード」の賞状をローカル誌から毎年もらってる様子。

"Best Thaifood" was awarded to this restaurant every year for several years from a local magazine.

『メイゾン･リッツ(Maison-Riz)』を6月の土曜日再訪。レドンドビーチ・ピアに2009年4月頃開店した和風フレンチです。どの席からもオーシャンビューです。最近は和風は減らし、アメリカン・フレンチに落ち着いたようでした。

"Maison-Riz"at Redondo Pier: We re-visited there for lunch on Saturday in June. It opened in April 2009. It's on the Redondo Pier, so it's sitting above the ocean and offers great ocean view from almost all tables in the restaurant. They used to have Japanese French recipes and seasoning. It seems they have changed to American French tastes.

窓際に案内されました。南側と西側両方がオーシャンビュー。

We were seated by the window. Great Ocean view on the South and West sides.

クリーミーなバターとあいます。以前はここのオリジナル海苔バターでした。

It goes well with creamy Butter. They used to serve Seaweed Butter.

クラム・チャウダースープ

ハーフサイズ、＄４。
牛乳たっぷりで熱々。さらっとしたクラムチャウダースープでした。

It's full of Milk and very hot in temperature wise. It's a refreshing Soup.

シーフードパスタ $19
Seafood Pasta
ホタテ、あさり、ムール貝、イカ、海老のカンズリトマトソースパスタ。ホタテの貝殻が載せてあり豪華です。
パスタの湯で加減はアルデンテ。ソースとからみ美味でした。

Kanzuri Tomato Sauce Pasta with Scallop, Clam, Mussel, Squid, Shrimp. It looks gorgeous with Scallop shell on top. Pasta was done al dente, just right. The Tomato sauce went well with the pasta noodle, and it tasted great!

Baby Back Ribs
前来たときは無かったメニュー。量感がありお徳です。フレンチフライドポテトかサラダのチョイスあり。サラダのドレッシングはバルサミコ酢でした。

It's a new menu. They did not have when we came here the previous time. It's a value meal with lots of volume. You have a choice of French Fries or Salad. The Salad dressing was Balsamic Vinegar.

5月12日ドジャーズ野球観戦しました。対戦相手のコロラド・ロッキーズ関係者に無料券をいただいたのです。ロサンゼルスで一番美味しいと評判の「ポートーズ」のサンドイッチを同席したＳちゃんに買ってきてもらいました。同野球場内でもホットドック、ナチョス、カールズジュニアのハンバーグなどを販売してます。

Dodgers Game & Porto's Bakery: I went to a Dodger's baseball game on May 12, 2012, because I got four free tickets from a friend who works for the opponent team, Colorado Rockies. There are hot-dogs, Carl's Junior's Hamburgers, Nachos, etc. available at the stadium. I heard Porto's Sandwiches are the best sandwiches in Los Angeles.

It's a Beef Steak Sandwich. There are more than 20 kinds of Sandwiches, including Beef Fajitas Sandwich, Ham Sandwich, Vegetarian Sandwich, etc. It started and owned by a family who immigrated from Cuba to California in 1960's.

There are lines to buy the bakery and sandwiches at all three locations. It could be 30 to 60 minute wait.
3軒ともベーカリーやサンドイッチを買うのに行列があるそうです。30分から1時間待ちとか。

ドジャーズで活躍した野茂英雄選手のポスターがまだ球場に飾ってあります。野茂選手はドジャーズにとって特別な存在なのでしょうね。

Hideo Nomo was an ace pitcher for Dodgers over a decade ago. His posters are still displayed in the Dodgers stadium. Nomo is probably a special player for Dodgers.

無料でいただいた席はとってもいい席でした。ホームペースの後ろより少し1塁側。冒頭の写真がその席からの光景です。3塁ベンチ側にいるドジャーズ選手陣が良く見えました。

The seats we got for free were good seats. The view from the seat is the top photo. It's little bit First Base side behind the home base. We could see the Dodgers players very well in the Third base side bench.

今年ドジャーズで一番活躍しているマット・ケンプ選手。長打を良く打ちます。

This is Matt Kemp. He is the most valuable player for Dodgers this season. He hits long range hits often.

ドジャーズの試合を観るのは2年ぶりでした。

ドジャーズのシーズンチケット所持者にきいたところ、テイクアウトした食べ物の持ち込みＯＫ。タッパーウエアーに入りはダメ。水は未開封のプラスティックボトル入りならＯＫとのこと。一度開けた痕跡があると、お酒や焼酎を混ぜてるかも知れないので、入り口で没収されるそうです。お酒類の持ち込み禁止です。食べ物持込ＯＫとは知りませんでした。

It was the first time to see Dodgers game in 2 years.

According to a Dodgers Season ticket holder, you can bring in takeout foods. You cannot bring in foods in tapper wears. Unopened plastic bottled waters are OK. Opened bottled waters will be confiscated at the entrance, because it might contain Sake or Vodka. You cannot bring in cans and alcoholic beverages. I did not know we can bring in foods to the stadium.

『アルパインドイツ村』で毎週水曜、ポークリブ食べ放題 $9.95 とカラオケ・ナイトやってます。フェースブックの広告によると８ＰＭからとあり、8時半頃行きました。（実際このＢＢＱディナーは６ＰＭから９ＰＭまででした。）

"ALL-You-Can-Eat Ribs BBQ" at Alpine Village: They have this at $9.95 on Wednesday for dinner. The Facebook ad appeared on April 11, 2012. It said it's from 8 pm, so we went there around 8:30 pm on Wednesday. (It turned out the BBQ dinner was from 6 pm to 9 pm.)

8時55分頃お待ちかねの「ポーク・リブＢＢＱ」がサーブされました。柔らかくて美味しい。サイドに沖縄団子のようなジャガイモ団子と酸っぱめのコースロー付きでした。お肉も柔らかくて美味しかったです。

Around 8:55 pm, the "Pork Ribs BBQ" was served. It had Fried Potato Balls and Coleslow on the side. The meat was tender and tasty!

9時5分ごろ、ウエイトレスさんを呼んで、あと1皿追加したい、と訪ねたところ、「キッチンは９ＰＭで閉鎖されました。もう出せません。」と云われました。8時半に注文する時に云ってくれたらもっと良かったです。アルパインビレッジのフェースブックページにそのこと書き込みました。

Around 9:05 pm, we called our waitress and asked for another plate of BBQ. The waitress said, "The kitchen closed at 9 PM, so there is no more BBQ." We wished the waitress told us that when we first ordered it around 8:30 pm. I mentioned it on their Facebook page.

『Oh La La』フランス料理店で少し前にディナー食べました。レドンドビーチ市PCH通り沿いにあります。

"Oh La La French Bistro": We went there for lunch little while ago. It's located along PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) in Redondo Beach city.

フランス料理にはフレンチ・バゲットは欠かせません。ワインと前菜のエスカルゴとあいます。

You've gotta have French Baguettes with French cuisine. It goes well with Wine and the Escargo, an appetizer.

エスカルゴ・パフペーストリー付き $13.95
Vol au Vent Escargots with Puff Pastry
とってもクリーミーなエスカルゴ。このソースはパセリか？良くわかりませんでした。

The Escargots was very creamy. I guessed the sauce is Parsley, but I'm not sure.


シーフードリゾット $22
Seafood Risotto
貝柱、海老、ムール貝入りのリゾット。粉チーズもたっぷりでした。

It came with Scallops, Shrimp & Mussels. Lots of Cheese powder was mixed in.


マグロの赤ワインソースがけ $22.95
Tuna with Marchad Red Wine Saunce
ご飯の上に盛られたマグロのたたきに赤ワインソースをかけたもの。変わった一品。

Seared Tuna is placed on top of Steamed Rice, and Marchard Red Wine Sauce is poured. It's a very unique dish.

お洒落で上品な店内。絵が素敵です。
The interior is trendy and elegant. The paintings on the wall are beautiful.

東日本大震災映画「Pray for Japan~心を一つに～」を3月14日夜観たあと、スチュー・リービー監督とスタッフとの打ち上げパーティーに参入。場所は"BJ's"でした。

Celebration at BJ's Restaurant :I saw the documentary film "Pray for Japan"on March 14, 2012. The director, Stu Levy appeared after the show at AMC Del Amo Torrance (LA area) and greeted the audience and did Q&A session. Then, there was a celebration dinner for the staffs at BJ's Restaurant Brewhouse near by.

先土曜レドンドビーチの『Kincaid's』で晩餐しました。ここはステーキ、シーフード、パスタなどのお店です。夕方3時半に予約入れると、8時15分以降しか空いてませんでした。たぶん窓側は予約のみで内側少しの席がウオークイン用です。
(バターミルク揚げ烏賊のカラマリ/ Buttermilk Fried Calamari ↓)

Kincaid's Restaurant@Redondo: On Feb 11, 2012, we went to "Kincaid's Bay House" at Redondo Beach Pier. It's a restaurant on the sea, offering Steaks, Seafood, and Pasta,etc. When I called around 3:30 pm for a reservation, 8:15 pm or later was available. Window side tables are for reservation. They probably reserve a few tables near the kitchen for walk-in customers.

Jumbo Prawns, fresh Nova Scotia Scallops, baby Spinach, fresh Tomatoes, Smoked Salmon Cream Sauce, Herb Gremolata. It was hot and tasty.

マヒマヒはハワイで良くとれる白身魚。これはフィジー産。それをピスタチオ・ナッツの衣でまぶし、フライパンで蒸し焼きにしたもの。

Mahi Mahi is white fish often caught in Hawaii. This Mahi Mahi is from Fiji. It's covered with Pistachio Nuts flower and Pan Roasted.

サラダはあまり味が無く、ちょっとがっかりでした。。。

There was not much of taste to Salad...

Vegetable Curry
675円でランチセットが食べれます。お得です。
カレーの辛さは5段階。1番がマイルドで辛みなし。２番にしたのですが、辛くて涙が出て、途中から食べれなくなりました。。。

The whole Lunch Set is $8.95, so it's a good deal. There are 5 kinds of Spiciness. Number 1 is mild with no spiciness. I chose Number 2. It was very spicy, and tears kept pouring from my eyes. I could not continue eating it later.


ウエイターさんが自家製ヨーグルトを持ってきてくれました。これを混ぜるとカレーがマイルドになり、食べられました。

The waiter brought a home-made Yogurt. By adding this Yogurt to the Curry, it got milder and I was able to eat the Curry.

新商品のコーンスープ開発中らしく、試食しました。味見をしたところ、新しいコーンスープは、ＭＳＧ未使用。自分はこちらの方が好きです。自然の味。アメリカンの強い要望でＭＳＧ未使用のコーンスープを開発したそうです。

We were offered a new type of Corn Soup under Research and Development. As I tasted the new Corn Soup, no MSG was used in it. I like this Corn Soup with no MSG better. It is natural. They are developing Corn Soup without MSG upon several American customers demand.

Deluxe Menchi Katsu Curry (Ground Beef)
ドライカレーオムレツとメンチカツにカレーソースがかかった新しいメニューです。ディナーは＄12.75。

Curry Sauce is poured over Dry Curry Omelet and Menchi Katsu Curry (Deep Fried Ground Beef Cutlet). It's their new menu. It's $12.75 for dinner.

7月4日独立記念日花火大会前、『Old Tony's』で友人と4人でお食事。レドンド・ビーチ・ピアにあり、ここも海の上にあるレストランです。

A bowl is $4.25, and the Extra Large Bowl is $6.25. I believe this was Extra Large.

ボリュームたっぷりでした。

It was a lot of Shrimp Salad.

Deep Fried Calamari
お馴染のイタリアンのイカフライ。レモン、トマトソース、タルタル・ソースが添えてありました。

It's the familiar Italian Squid appetizer. It was garnished with Lemon, Tomato Sauce, and Tartar Sauce.

虹鱒（２） $19.95
Rainbow Trout (2)
炭火焼の虹マス２尾。レモン汁とタルタルソースでいただきます。虹マス大好物です。サイドはベークド・ポテトにしました。
Two Char-Broiled Rainbow Trouts were served with Lemon and Tartar Sauce. I love Rainbow Trouts. I selected a Baked Potato for the side dish.

6月28日夜久ぶりにレドンドビーチにある『キンケーズ』で晩餐。海の上にあるレストラン。Eクラブに登録すると誕生日、アニバーサリー、特別プロモーションの時に＄20Eクーポンなどを送ってくれます。今回もそれを利用。

On June 28, 2011, we went to "Kincaid's Bay House" at Redondo Beach Pier. It's a restaurant on the sea. If you join their e-club, they will send you $20 coupons, etc. for your birthday, anniversary, and special promotions. We used a $20 Ecoupon again.


月曜日～木曜日午後3時から6時は、３コースミールが＄26。右は本日のスペシャルメニュー。

季節の野菜サラダ $9
Seasonal Mixed Greens
2人で注文したので、１オーダーを分けてサーブしてくれました。季節の野菜をバルサミコ酢で和えたもの。クリームチーズ・ワンタン添え。

Two of us ordered, so they served a split portion for us. Seasonal Greens are seasoned with Balsamic Vinegar and served with Cream Cheese Wanton.

バハカリフォルニア産ハマチ炭火焼 $22
Char-Grilled Baja California Hamachi
ハマチを炭火焼にし、ホームメードサルサ、シラントロ（香菜）、コースロー、コチジャンで味付けし、巻いてエンチラダにしたもの。大辛スパイシーで変わった逸品でした。

House-made Salsa rojo, Cilantro, Chipotle Slaw, Cotija, Hamachi Enchilada. It was really spicy and something different.

冒頭の写真はヒラメの頬肉（恐らくカマのあたり）。アシアゴ・チーズが微妙にマッチして美味しかった。

The top photo is Halibut Cheeks. The seasoning was done with Asiago Cheese. It matched with the Halibut, and it was delicious.

平日火曜日の夜8時半ごろ到着。混んでたので、15分待ちました。窓際席は予約で一杯でした。

We arrived there around 8:30 pm on Tuesday. It was crowded, so we waited 15 minutes before seated. The window side tables were all booked with reservations.

With 99 cents more, I got a Baked Potato instead of French Fries. The Baby-back Rib is 1 foot to 1.2 feet long. It's a great deal if you use the 2-for-1 coupon.

高級リゾートテラネア内「ネルソンズ」で6月初めランチしました。高級住宅地パロス・バーデス半島の先端にあります。映画「パイレーツ・オブ・カリビアン幻影の航海」に出てくる洞窟はここのビーチにある洞窟らしいです。

"Nelson's"@Terranea Resort is located at the tip of Rancho Palos Verdes Peninsula. We had a lunch there around June 5th. In the movie, "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides", Jack Sparrow looks at a cave on a beach. That scene was filmed at the cave in Terranea Resort.

Red Peppers, Green & Yellow Squash, Portabello Mushroom, Artichoke Hearts, Grape Tomatoes, Red Wine Vinegrette. The side Fries are extra at $3. It's a simple Veggi dish. It may not be enough for you.

アヒまぐろのたたき7種スパイス・サンド/
Seven Spice Seared Ahi Sandwich $15

にんにく、胡瓜のピクルス、アポカド、レタスを添えたアヒまぐろのたたきをポピーシード・バンではさんだサンドイッチ。サイドのレギュラーとサツマイモ・フライは$3.50ぐらい。

It came with Aioli, lettuce, Sliced Avocado, Pickled Cucumber, and Poppy Seed Roll. The side Mixed Fries, regular and sweet potato was around $3.50.

良く晴れた日でした。笠が無い席に座ったので、日差しが強かったです。

It was a sunny day. We were seated at a table without an umbrella, so the sunshine was scorching.

自宅から車で25分ぐらいなのに、まるでハワイか南国の島のリゾートに行った気分になってきました。週末リラックスするのに最適です。

I felt like I spent some time at a resort in Hawaii or another southern island, although, it's 25 minutes driving distance from my house. It's great to relax on weekend.

水曜日「ブルーウオーターグリル」再訪。レドンドビーチ・マリナにあり、ヨットハーバーを見ながらのランチでした。その2晩前ロサンゼルスは強風にみまわれ、レドンドマリナに100万以上の鰯が逃げ込み、酸素不足で死んだそうです。

"Bluewater Grill" at Redondo Beach: We had a lunch there last Wednesday while watching Yachts at the Redondo King Harbor Marina. It was so windy two nights before, so over one million Sardines fish came to Redondo Beach King Harbor Marina, and they died of lack of oxygen.


マンハッタン・クラムチャウダー（カップ$4.95）とデザートメニュー。

Manhattan Clam Chowder ($4.95 cup) and Dessert Menu

天然マヒマヒ・グリル焼き $15.65
Wild Mahi Mahi Grilled
グリル焼きされ塩胡椒で味付け。レモン汁を絞ってかけて食べます。サイドディッシュ2種選択可。野菜盛り合わせとマッシュポテトにしました。

It was grilled and seasoned with Salt and Pepper, garnished with Lemon. I squeezed Lemon juice to the fish. You can select two Side-dish. I had Vegetable and Mashed Potato.

なまず・ミシシッピ産 $13.95
Catfish, Mississippi, Blakened
$1追加でこげ目つきにグリル焼きしたもの。バリットこげ目を付けたほうが美味しそうです。

It was Blackened with $1 more. It looks good with the burned surface.

なまず・ピーカンナッツ片がけ $15.95
Pecan Crusted Catfish
なまずにピーカンナッツを砕いたものがかけられ、グリル焼きにしたもの。これも＄１追加で焦げ目を付け、香ばしくて美味しそう。サイドディッシュは、全粒ライス、野菜盛り合わせ。

Catfish was garnished with crusted Pecan Nuts and grilled. It was also blackened with $1 more. It had good flavor, and it looked good. The side-dishes are Whole Grain Rice and Assorted Vegetable.

『Three Spice Thai Kitchen』でランチしました。1月25日と2月7日行ってきました。3－4年前ロス郊外ガーディナに開店。行列のできるタイ料理店として評判です。

"Three Spice Thai Kitchen" opened in Gardena, a suburb of Los Angeles, three to four years ago. We went there for lunch on Jan. 25 and Feb. 7, 2011. It's known to be a Thai restaurant with a long line of customers waiting.

Pad Thai Noodle with Chicken
タイ料理の定番。ピーナツバターで絡め甘酸っぱい麺。アメリカン向けに甘めの味付け。ランチスペシャルにはワンタンが付きます。

It's the most popular Thai dish. Noodles are seasoned with Peanut Butter Sauce and sweet and slightly sour---Americanized and sweet taste. It comes with Wonton for Lunch Special.

グリーン・カレー海老添え $7.25
Green Curry with Shrimp
ここのグリーンカレーはナスビ、バジル、竹の子に肉類としてチキン、牛肉、ポーク (各$6.25)、ラム、海老 (各$7.25)から選べます。ベジタリアンには豆腐が付きます。海老で玄米にしました。

Green Curry here comes with Eggplant, Sweet Basil & Bamboo Shoots with a choice of Chicken, Beef, or Pork ($6.25 each) or a choice of Shrimp or Lamb ($7.25 each). For Vegetarian, you get Tofu. I ordered Green Curry with Shrimp and Brown Rice.

ナスビとバジルの唐辛子ニンニク炒め $6.25
Eggplant & Sweet Basil with Chili Garlic Sauce
鶏肉にしました。チキン、ビーフ、ポークだと$6.25で、海老だと$7.25です。白米か玄米か選べ、玄米にしました。ナスビ、バジル、ピーマン、玉ねぎ、鶏肉をお醤油、ニンニク、唐辛子で味付けした炒め物。それほどニンニク使用してないので、平日のランチでも大丈夫でした。

I selected Chicken. Chicken, Beef, or Pork is $6.25. Shrimp is $7.25. You have a choice of White Rice or Brown Rice. I chose Brown Rice. It's a Stir Fried of Eggplant, Sweet Basil, Bell Pepper, Onion, and Meat, seasoned with Soy Sauce, Garlic, and Chili Pepper. They use moderate amount of Garlic, so it was O.K. for a lunch on a weekday.

グリーン・カレー豆腐添え $6.25
Green Curry with Tofu
玄米を選択。上のグリーンカレーと似てます。肉の変わりに豆腐をチョイスしたら、なぜかナスビも入ってませんでした。

With a choice of Brown Rice. It's similar to the Green Curry above. My friend selected Tofu instead of Meat, and the Green Curry did not contain Eggplant. We did not know why.

開店当時はいつも行列でした。最近はアメリカ経済不況のせいかそれほど待たずに座れます。客層はほとんどアメリカンです。室内かパティオ席があります。

There were long lines to get in when they opened three to four years ago. Due to a depression of American Economy, you don't need to wait nowadays. Customers are mostly American. They have tables indoor and outside patio.

Pork Baby Back Ribs are slow-cocked with Jack Daniel BBQ Sauce. They are tender and tasty! It came with 2 sides. We got Baked Potato and Steamed Broccoli. The Pork Baby Back Ribs were good size. You could choose Steamed or Grilled Lobster. I selected Grilled.

「ダインＬＡレストラン週間」が1月23日から2月4日まで土曜日を除く間開催中。日曜日「ブルーウオーターグリル」に行ってきました。レドンドビーチ・キングハーバー・マリナにあり、ヨットハーバーを見ながらの３コースランチでした。

"dineLA Restaurant Week" is being held from January 23 thorough Feb.4, 2011, excluding Saturdays. We went to "Bluewater Grill" at Redondo Beach King Harbor Marina last Sunday. We had 3 course lunch there while watching Yachts at the marina.

3コースランチが$16、$22、または$28。3コースディナーが$26、$34、$44です。LAの有名レストラン多数加盟。ノブや権八も。。

3 course Lunch is $16, $22, or $28. 3 course Dinner is $26, $34, or $44. Hundreds of famous restaurants in Greater LA participates, including Nobu and Gonpachi.

フロントで"ダインLA"用メニューをもらいました。指定しないと普通のメニューをくれます。3コースで$16です。

At the front desk, we asked for "dineLA" menu. It was $16 for 3 course. If you did not specify, they will give you regular Lunch menu.

暖かいサワドーパン。　アイスティーを頼みました。（飲み物は別料金）

Warm Sourdough Bread. We ordered Ice Tea. (Drinks are extra.)

ハウス・サラダ/House Salad
ファーストコースの中からこれにしました。ドレッシングはお好みで。これはブルーチーズドレッシング。

From the First Course menu, we selected this. Several kinds of Salad Dressing is available. This one is Blue Cheese Dressing.

マンハッタン・クラムチャウダー/
Clam Chowder Manhattan
ファーストコースの中から。ニューイングランド風もあります。ここはマンハッタン・クラムチャウダーが美味しいと評判です。

From the First Course menu, we selected this. They also have New England Clam Chowder. Their Manhattan Clam Chowder has great reputations.

店内からの景観。マリナの中にあり、ヨットを眺めながらの食事です。



Views from the seats. It's located in a Yacht Marina, so you can enjoy meals while watching Yachts.

鯛のグリル焼き
Red Snapper Grilled
セカンドコースの中から。鯛をグリル焼きし、レモン汁をかけて。サイドは2種お好みで選択可。温野菜とライスピラフにしました。

From the Second Course. We selected Grilled Red Snapper. We poured Lemon Juice to taste. It came with two sides of your choice. We got Steamed Vegetable and Rice Pilaf.

海老ルイ・サラダ
Shrimp Louie Salad
セカンドコースの中から。海老、アボカド、ほうれん草、トマト、きゅうり、香草、ゆで卵などのサラダ。ドレッシングはサウザンアイランドに近いマヨネーズ味でした。

From the Second Course. We selected this. It had Shrimps, Avocado, Spinach, Tomato, Cucumber, Spring Mix, Boiled Eggs, etc. The Dressing tasted similar to combination of Thousand Island and Mayonnaise.

クリーム・ブルーレ
Creme Brulee
サードコースから。クリーム表面に砂糖をかけ、バーナーで焼いた定番デザート。大きい。

From the Third Course. It's Creme sprinkled with Sugar and Burned the surface with a burner. It's a regular Dessert. It's big.

ギラデリ・ホットファッジ・サンデー
Ghirardelli Hot Fudge Sundae
サードコースから。サンフランシスコの有名なチョコレート屋ギラデリのホット・ファッジとバニラアイス、生クリームをたっぶりかけたサンデー。かなり大きく、食べきれず残しました。デザートの変わりにワイン注文可でした。

From the Third Course. It's a Sundae using Ghirardelli Hot Fudge, Vanilla Ice Cream, with lots of Whipped Creme. It's so huge, and we could not finish eating. A glass of Wine instead of Dessert is available.


他のメニューなど。平日午後3時半から6時は$20のファーストシーティング3コースディナーありお得みたいです。

Here are other menus. First Seating 3 Course Dinner at $20 is available Monday to Friday 3:30 to 6 pm. It sounds a great deal.

12月24日クリスマスイブは、レイク・エルシノア温泉に1泊。『ハウス・オブ・シロアム』に宿泊。各部屋に台所があり、ストーブ、電子レンジ、冷蔵庫完備。宿内にレストランはありません。徒歩3分の距離にメキシカン料理数店、イタリアン、ステーキハウス、ファミリーレストランなどがあります。そこのメキシコ料理にハマッテマス。

"Mexican Food@Lake Elsinore Hotspring": We stayed one night at "House of Siloam" hotspring resort in Lake Elsinore on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, 2010. At the hotspring resort, each room is equipped with a kitchen, a stove, a microwave oven, and a refrigerator, but there is no restaurant in the facility. With 3 minute walk, there is Lake Elsinore downtown with a few Mexican, Italian, Steakhouse, and Family restaurants. Lately I'm hooked to the Mexican food there.

早朝5時か6時から毎日開いてるベーカリーとメキシカン料理店。朝行くと長い行列があります。

They open early from 5 am or 6 am every day. It's a Bakery and Mexican Restaurant. There are long lines if you go there in the morning.

こじんまりしてます。このメイン通りにいろんなお店が並びます。
クリスマスイブは、午後4時か5時に店じまいし、クリスマスはお休みのところが多かったです。

It's a small downtown. There are many stores and restaurants on this Main Street. Many stores and restaurants were closing at 4 pm or 5 pm on Christmas Eve and closed on Christmas Day.

さっきの店でタマリが売り切れだったので、タマリ専門店で夕飯用にタマリを買いました。







グリーンチリ、ポーク、チキン・タマレ

1個で＄2、6個で$9.60、12個で＄18ぐらいでした。種類は3種類。できたてアツアツのを6個購入しました。

Tamales were $2 for 1 pc, $9.60 for 6 pcs, and $18 for 12 pcs or something. There are 3 kinds of Tamales. We got freshly cooked and hot Tamales for 6 pcs.

Tamales are Mexican Food served for celebrations, so many people were buying lots of Tamales and the ingredients there.
