数時間前『カフェ・ルナ』で本格的イタ飯ディナーを食べました。10年前から度々訪問。最近ご無沙汰してました。4年前にオーナーが変わり、最近は平日ランチとディナーオープン。土日はプライベートパーティーとケータリングのみ。
（ポモドロ・エンジェルヘアーパスタ / Capellini Pomodoro $9.95 ↓ )

Cafe Luna Italian Cuisine, Torrance: We went there for dinner a few hours ago. We visited here several times in the last 10 years. The owner changed four years ago. Now they are open on weekdays for Lunch and Dinner. Saturdays and Sundays are for private parties and catering only.

ここは、9時閉店と閉店が早いです。午後8時15分ごろ到着。さっさと注文して、すぐにサーブされ、席についてから30分以内に食べ終わりました。

They close at 9 PM. We arrived there at 8:15 pm. We ordered our food right away and got served right away and finished eating in 30 minutes from we arrived there.

ギリシャ風サラダ
Greek Salad
アントレーやパスタはスープかサラダ付きです。シーザーサラダは$2増し。ギリシャ風サラダは$2.50増しです。冷たく冷やしたイタリアンドレッシングをかけないで出してくれます。

All Entrees and Pasta Entrees are served with Soup or Salad.　Add $2 for Caesar Salad, and add $2.50 for Greek Salad. They serve chilled Italian Dressing separately without placing onto Salad.

ミネストローネスープ
Minestrone Soup
スープはパスタスープとこれの2種類でした。トマト、ニンジン、キドニー豆、ズッキーニ、セロリ入り。

They had this Minestrone Soup and Pasta Soup. It had Tomato, Carrots, Kidney Beans, Zucchini, and Celery.

シーフード・ディアブロ・パスタ
Seafood Diablo Pasta $16.95
ソテーした海老とカラマリ、赤いスパイシーガーリックソースをからめたリングイニ・パスタ。
量が多い！ここのパスタ用ディナー皿は直径21センチ。半分お持ち帰りです。

Sautéed shrimp and calamari over a bed of linguini topped with red spicy garlic sauce.
It has lots of volume. The pasta dinner plates are around 8.5 inch (21 cm). We took the half home.

『exEat by Eatalia Cafe』は、2010年2月にガーディナ北東部に開店した『Eatalia Cafe』の支店として今年2月にガーディナ北西部に開店。10月13日に行ってきました。
(ボンゴレ・パスタ /Liguine with Vongole $14.95↓）

exEat by Eatalia Cafe opened last February in North West Gardena as a second restaurant of "Eatalia Cafe" that opened in North East Gardena in February 2010. We went there on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012.

冒頭のあさり貝のボンゴレ・パスタのソースはホワイト（白ワイン）かレッド（トマトソース）か選べ、レッドソースにしました。白ワインで蒸したあさり貝にトマトソースを混ぜ、パセリのみじん切り、にんにくなどが入って、美味しかったです。

For the Linguine Vongole, there were a choice of White Sauce (White Wine) or Red Sauce (Tomato Sauce. We selected Red Sauce. Fresh Clams were steamed with White Wine, and then Tomato Sauce, Parsley flakes, and minced Garlic were added in. It was delicious.

この店のパン、パスタ、ピザ生地、ジェラト、チーズなどは全て毎朝手作り。

Their pastas, dough, sauces, gelato, bread, pastries, are all freshly made every morning.

ハウスワイン

赤と白のハウスワインを注文。どちらも＄５。最初に少し味見させてくれて味を確かめました。

We ordered Red and White House Wine by Glass. It was $5 each. The waiter let us taste a little bit before giving us the full glassful.

モッザレラ・サラダ
Mozzarella Salad
新鮮手作りモッザレラチーズ、ベービーグリーン、マッシュルーム、きゅうり、人参、たまねぎ、トマト入りのサラダ。ドレッシングは食卓のオリーブオイルとバルサミックビネガーをお好みで。こんだけ入ってスモールサイズ、$5.50.

Salad with fresh mozzarella, baby green, fresh mushroom, cucumber, carrot, onion, tomatoes. You can make your own Italian dressing by using Virgin Olive Oil and Balsamic Vinegar on your table. This is a Small Size at $5.50.

マルガリータ・ピザ

トマトソースとモッザレラチーズの薄～いシシリア風ピッザ。できたてあつあつ。

Sicilian style thin crust Pizza with Tomato Sauce and Mozzarella Cheese. It was fresh and hot from the oven.

手作りジェラト
Home-made Gelato
いろんな種類があって美味しそうでした。次回は是非トライしたいです。

There were several kinds, and they all looked good. I would like to try this next time.

手作りのベーカリー、オリーブ、チリペッパーなどいろんな瓶づめお惣菜も売ってました。

They were also selling home made Bakery goods, Olives, Chili Peppers, and others in jars.

『Eatalia Cafe』は倉庫街にあり、待ち時間40分以上だそう。こちらは待たずに座れました。オーナーシェフご夫婦はイタリアのベントソ村出身です。

The owner chef couple is from Ventoso, a village in Italy. The original restaurant, Eatalia Cafe is located in warehouse district, and very crowded. Usually 40 minute wait. exEat by Eatalia Cafe was not that crowded. There was no waiting.

『Bloom Japnese Italian Restaurant』が9月半ばにロミータに新装開店。10月12日に麺友会LAの懇親会があり行ってきました。
（前菜とサラダの盛り合わせ / Appetizers and Salad ↓)

Bloom Japnese Italian Restaurant: It opened in Lomita, CA around Sept. 18, 2012. I went there on Friday, Oct. 12, 2012 for a Noodle Lover's dinner party.

この日は60名以上集まり貸しきりでした。フルコース料理で税・チップ込みで1人＄30でした。

The entire restaurant was reserved for our party of 60 people or more. The cost was $30 per person for a full course meal, including tax and tips.

そこは今年５月まで日本のイタ飯店「イルキアンティ」。3ヶ月閉鎖し改装工事。床や壁も変わりました。

It used to be "Il-Chianti Italian Restaurant" until May, 2012. It was closed for 3 months for remodeling. The interior including walls and floors changed.

パスタ3種
3 Kinds of Pasta
ドライトマトとトマトソースのパスタ、柚子胡椒と豚バラのパスタ、マッシュルームのクリームソースパスタの3種類。どれもアルデンテでいいお味でした。

Dried Tomato and Tomato Sauce Pasta, Yuzu Pepper and Pork Belly Pasta, and Mushroom with White Sauce Pasta were served. The pastas were al dente and tasted great.

ピザ / Pizza
マッシュルーム、赤ピーマン、牛ひき肉、ドライ・トマトの薄焼きピザ。焼きたてあつあつでした。

Pizza with Mushroom, Red Bell Pepper, Ground Beef, and Dried Tomato was hot, fresh out of the oven. It was a thin crust Pizza.

ハウスワインのカルバネを別注文。店内はお祝いの花がたくさん並び素敵でした。

I ordered Cabernet House Wine for an extra. There were lots of gifted flowers inside the restaurant. They were so beautiful.

デザート3種
3 Kinds of Desserts
ティラミス、チョコレートチップクッキー、イチゴとブルーベリーのフランペ、生クリームを添えて。

Tiramisu, Chocolate Chip Cookie, and Strawberry and Blueberry Flambé with Whipping Cream.

『Gaetano's』を初めて訪問しました。トーレンス市南部のCrenshaw Blvd と PCHの北西角のモール内にあります。本格的なイタリアンレストランです。
( 海老の地中海風 / Shrimp Mediterranean ↓）

Gaetano's Restaurant: We went there for the first time. It's an authentic Italian Restaurant located in the North West corner mall of Crenshaw Blvd. and PCH in Torrance.

スリーコースメニュー
Three Course Tasting Menu
ファースト/First:
ガーデンサラダ、シーザーサラダ、ミネストローネスープ、日替わりスープから1品。
Select one from Garden Salad, Caesar Salad, Minestrone Soup, and Soup of the Day.

セカンド/Second:
バターナッツスクワッシュのラビオリ、チキン・パーマジャン、ブラサト、海老の地中海風から1品。
Select one from Butternut Squash Ravioli, Chicken Parmigiana, Brasato, Shrimp Mediterranean.

サード/Third:
スプモーニ、ミニ・カノーリからの1品選択。
Select one from Spumoni, Mini Cannoli.

このスリーコースメニューは＄23とお得なので、これのシーザーサラダ、海老の地中海風、スプモーニにしました。

We ordered one "Three Course Tasting Menu." It's $23, and a good price. We ordered Caesar Salad, Shrimp Mediterranean, and Spumoni.

パンが出され、ハウスワインの白と赤を頼み、お料理を待ちます。

今月初めの土曜の夜でした。夜8時半ごろ到着すると、25分待ちと云われ、ビーバーを渡されました。7分ほど待つと呼ばれ、席につけました。

1993年創業。19年の老舗。地元の人に人気です。

Bread was served. We ordered White and Red House Wine and waited for our food to be served.

It was Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012. We got there around 8:30 pm. We were told to wait for 25 minutes and given a flashing beeper. We were called 7 minutes later and got seated.

It's established in 1993, 19 years ago. It's popular among local people.

カラマリ・フリッター $11.95
Calamari Fritti

前菜にカラマリ・フリッターを頼みました。トマトベースのマリナラソース、レモン汁とマヨネーズベースのソースが出されました。

We ordered Calamari Fritti for an appetizer. It was served with Tomato based Marinara Sauce and Sauce with Lemon juice and Mayonnaise.

シーザーサラダ
Caesar Salad
スリーコースメニューのファーストです。美味しくて量も多い。2人で分けてちょうどいいくらいでした。

This is the "First" of the "Three Course Tasting" menu. It was good and had a good volume to be shared among two of us.

ペスカトーレ $22
Linguini alla Pescatore
ちょっとスパイシーなトマトソース味の魚介類のリングイニ・パスタです。海老、イカ、ムール貝が入ってました。美味しい。
It's Linguini Pasta with Seafood and little spicy Tomato Sauce. It had Shrimp, Squid, and Mussel. It was delicious.

スプモーニ
Spumoni
バニラ、ストロベリー、チョコレートが混じったイタリアン・アイスクリーム。これも　スリーコースメニューの一部でした。

It's Italian Ice Cream, made of Vanilla, Strawberry, and Chocolate. This was also a part of "Three Course Tasting" menu.


暗めで落ち着いた店内。ステンドグラスが素敵です。

It's dark and cool inside. Stained Glass window looks very nice.

8月31日、『Macaroni Grill』を再訪し”２フォー１ディナー”を食べました。レーバーデー週末用のクーポンでした。全米各地にあるイタリアン・チェーン店です。

"Macaroni Grill": We went there for dinner on August 31, 2012. They gave us "2-for-1 Entree" E-coupon. As I predicted in my previous blog, "2-for-1 Entree" E-coupons was emailed for the Labor Day weekend. They have locations all over United States.

『Macaroni Grill』で晩餐しました。全米各地にあるイタリアン・チェーン店。トーレンス店が開店して12年以上。数十回訪れたお店。7月4日独立記念日週に久々に「２フォー１」クーポンがメールされたのを利用。次にスペシャルがありそうなのは9月初めのレーバーデー週末です。

単品で頼むと$6。「２－タパスーフォー＄９」を利用。薄くそいだズッキーニをオリーブオイルで揚げた前菜。美味しくてクセになりそうな味でした。量も多くて大満足。

It's $6 by itself. We used "2 Tapas for $9". Thin sliced Zucchini are deep-fried in Olive Oil. It's good and addictive. It was big volume, and we liked it.

プロシュートとモッッツアレラ
Baked Prosciutto & Mozzarella
これも単品で頼むと$6。「２－タパスーフォー＄９」を利用。とろけたチーズが焼きたてあつあつで美味しかったです。

It's also $6 by itself. We used "2 Tapas for $9". We used "2 Tapas for $9".



地中海産ヒラメ　$19
Mediterranean Sea Bass
グリルした地中海産ヒラメに、フライパンで軽く炒めた円熟トマト、アルグラ、カネリーリ豆、バルサミックグレーズのサラダを添えて。野菜類は全てヒラメの下に盛り付けてありました。

Grilled Mediterranean Sea Bass with Pan-Seared, Vine-ripened Tomatoes, Arugula, Cannellini Beans, Balsamic Glaze. The vegetable was under the Sea Bass.

4人のシェフが忙しそう料理してました。この日は席が満員で20分待ちでした。２フォー１クーポンの威力でしょうか。

Four chefs were cooking food and looked very busy. We waited 20 minutes to be seated, because the tables were full. It must be due to the "2-for-1" coupons.

1月13日、『カプリチョーザ』で美味しいパスタを食べました。1978年東京創業のあの有名なイタリア料理店が去年9月トーレンス南西部に新装開店。初訪問でした。

Capricciosa Italiano, Torrance: I went there on Friday, Jan. 13, 2012 for the first time. This famous Italian restaurant opened in Tokyo in 1978. Their first LA and USA branch opened in South West Torrance in September 2011.

週7日ランチとディナー営業。平日は午後3時までランチスペシャルあり、サラダ、パスタ、ドリンク付きで$11.99か$13.49。メニューの一部の写真をアップします。

They have Lunch Specials Monday to Friday until 3 pm. It's $11.99 or $13.49 with Salad, Pasta, and Drink. I will post partial menu photos below.






キャンドリ・ピノノアー
Candori Pinot Noir
イタリア産ワイン。1月14日まで女性客が居るとボトルワインは半額でした。通常$27が$13.50でした。ワイン瓶の絵が可愛い。。。裏表に絵が描いてありました。このピノノアーのワインもまろやかで美味しかったです。

Italian wine. Bottled Wine were half price when there was a lady over 21 year's old in the party until Jan. 14, 2012. Regular price is $27. It was $13.50. There were pretty drawings on the wine bottle, front and back. The Pinot Noir Wine tasted mild and delicious, too.

Capricciosa's 'Must Try' Signature Pasta. I thought Pasta with Tomato and Garlic are so simple at first. As soon as I had a bite of it, I could understand why. It was SO GOOD and Excellent! This is very addictive Tomato Sauce.

新鮮なあさりのパスタ。深い皿にアサリ汁がふんだんに盛られていて、あさり汁も美味しい。白ワイン、パセリ、黒胡椒で味付け。

Fresh Clam Pasta. It's served in a deep bowl with lots of Clam Juice, so I enjoyed the tasty Clam Juice as well. It's seasoned with White Wine, Parsley, and Black Pepper.

落ち着いた店内。

The interior is comfortable.

もともと「Claim Jumper」だったお店をトニーロマとカプリチョーザに２分されてます。カプリチョーザの入り口は裏側。トニーローマの入り口は表側Crenshaw Blvd.沿い、Lomita Blvd.との南西の角。

This space used to be "Claim Jumper Restaurant". It was split in to two with Tony Roma. The entrance of Capricciosa is in the back. The entrance of Tony Roma is facing Crenshaw Blvd., South West corner at Lomita Blvd.

9月3日テメキュラでワイナリー巡りの後"Pizza Factory"で夕飯しました。テメキュラにある"Pechanga Casino"か "Pala Casino"の食べ放題バフェも魅力的でしたが、それほどお腹空いてなかったので。。。

"Pizza Factory": We had a dinner there after visiting 3 wineries in Temecula, CA. We thought of having a dinner buffet at "Pechanga Casino" or "Pala Casino", but we were not that hungry.

日替わりでスペシャルがあります。土曜日は、エキストラ・ラージ・ピザがラージ・ピザの値段で買えるとのこと。2人でグリークピザ（3－4人前）を頼んでシェアしました。通常$22.29のところ、$19.19でした。

They have daily specials. On Saturdays, X-Large Pizzas are priced at Large Pizza. I ordered "Greek Pizza, X-Large" (good for 3 to 4 people) to share among two of us. It was $19.19. Regularly it's $22.29.

アイスティーやソーダはソーダ・ファンテンからセルフ・サービス。散々ワインの試飲したのに、ビール飲んでる人が一人仲間に居ました。ハーフ＆ハーフはアイスティーとレモネードを半分ずつ混ぜたものです。

Ice tea and Sodas were from the self-service drink fountain in the restaurant. One of us had a beer, although she enjoyed wine tasting at 3 wineries. "Half & Half" is a mixture of Ice Tea and Lemonade at 50-50.

ガーリック・トースト付きでした。

It came with a slice of Garlic Toast.

新鮮焼きたてラザーニャ

これもガーリック・トースト付きでした。味は濃い目だそうです。

きゅうり、トマト、玉葱、ピーマン、オリーブ、チーズなどがたっぷり入ってました。ピザ生地は薄め。美味しかったです。

It had fresh Cucumbers, Tomato, Onion, Bell Pepper, Olive, Cheese, etc. The Pizza Crust was thin. It was delicious.

少年野球、フットボールチーム、その保護者で賑わってました。店内にゲームコーナーもあります。

It was crowded with Little League Baseball teams, Junior American Football teams, and their parents. It has a game corner in the restaurant, too.

The sky was beautiful with fish-scale shaped clouds.

この後、レイク・エルシノアの温泉に行きました。ここから高速飛ばして35分ほどでした。

After dinner, we went to Lake Elsinore hotsprings. It was about 35 minutes by driving on a freeway.

"Romano's Macaroni Grill" gave me $20 E-coupon on July 7, 2011. It was good until July 11, 2011, and we went there for a dinner that night. If you sign up their "Get The Dish On Meal" E-club, they will send you $5 coupon right away.

時々＄５クーポン、デザート無料クーポンなど来ます。$20Eクーポンはここ2年で一番のディールでした。

They email $5 coupon or free Dessert coupon occasionally, but $20 E-coupon was the best deal in the current 3 years.

8月20日土曜日『マッジアーノ』コスタメサ店で遅い夕飯。シカゴ発祥老舗イタ飯屋さん。ＬＡファーマーズマーケット、ここ、ラスベガスなど米国23州に店舗あり。

"Maggiano's Costa Mesa": We had a late Italian dinner here last Saturday, August 20, 2011. It's a well established Italian restaurant, started in downtown Chicago. They have locations in 23 states in USA. I have been to LA Farmer's Market and Las Vegas locations before.

今回初挑戦したのが、「マルコの二人用食事」、＄39.95(約3000円）。
前菜かサラダかフラットパンから1品、クラシック・パスタ欄から2品、デザートを1品、お土産用クラシック・パスタを2品。これ全部で＄39.95(約3000円）に消費税とチップです。信じられないほど破格。

This time we tried "Marco's Meal for Two" for the first time.
You get to choose one from any Appetizer, Salad, or Flat Bread, one two from Classic Pastas, one from Desserts, and two from Classic Pasta to take home. You get all of them for $39.95 plus tax and tips. It's unbelievably great price.

自宅からコスタメサまで405番高速を飛ばして35マイル（56km)、40分の距離です。午後9時15分に到着し、30分待ちと云われ、ビーパーを渡されます。9時32分ぐらいに呼ばれ着席。金曜日と土曜日は午後11時までオープンしてるそう。

From my home, it's about 35 miles, 40 minutes by car, driving on 405 Fwy. We arrived there around 9:15 pm. We were told it would be 30 minute wait and given a flashing beeper. We were called and seated around 9:32 pm. They are open until 11 pm and Friday and Saturday.

カラマリ・フリット

トマトをふんだんに使った暖かいマリならソース、レモンジュースを絞っていただきます。通常＄10.25。クラシックパスタも通常なら1品＄12.95です。

It's served with warm Marinara Sauce and a sliced Lemon. It's usually $10.25. Classic Pasta is usually $12.95 per order.

クラシック・スパゲティーの王道。麺は少しかためのアルデンテ。ソースはマリならかミートソースか選べます。

One of the traditional Classic Pastas. You have a choice of Marinara Sauce or Meat Sauce. The Spaghetti noodles are al dente, little firm and good.

ティラミス・ケーキ
Tiramisu
大きいので2人でシェアしてちょうどいいサイズです。しっとり、ふんわりと美味しい。

It's large, so a good size to share among two people. It's moist, fluffy, and delicious.

お土産用に、ママのラザーニャ、リガトニ・ポモドロ・ベイクドを注文。
お持ち帰り用に詰めて冷蔵庫で保管してるみたいです。量は少し少なめ。

We got Mom's Lasagna and Baked Rigatoni Pomodoro to take home. They probably keep some packaged for take home. It was chilled and the portion was little less. 

翌日オーブントースターやフライパンで暖めて食べました。

We warmed them up in Toaster Oven or in a skillet and ate them next day.

ラスベガス店に3回、ＬＡファーマーズマーケット店に１回行ったことあり、コスタメサ店は初訪問でした。ラスベガスではホテル滞在なのでお持ち帰りできず、食べれる量しか注文できません。お店によってこの２人用ミール無い所もあるかも。

I visited Las Vegas location 3 times, LA Farmer's Market location once before. It was my first visit to South Coast Plaza, Costa Mesa location. When I stay in Las Vegas, I can only try something that I can finish eating and no take home meals, because I stay at a hotel. Some location may not have this "Marco's Meal for Two" menu.

It was Matsui's first homer in 34 days when he hit 500th. I notified it on my blog around 6 am that day. I don't know how many people saw may blog and/or tweet, but there were lots of people lined up all day in front of Matsui Restaurant in Torrance, and I gave up...

海の幸リングイニ / Linguine Frutti di Mare

他に「海の幸リングイニ・パスタ」のスモールを注文しました。スモールでも日本のサイズからすると3－4人前です。大きいです。ムール貝、海老、烏賊リングなどが入ったトマトソースのパスタです。

We ordered a small size of "Linquine Fruitti di Mare", a Seafood Pasta for another dish.　The small size is good for 2 to 4 people. It's big. It has Mussels Clams, Shrimps, and Squid Rings, a Pasta with Tomato Sauce.

ランチサイズ・ラザーニャとスモールサイズ「海の幸パスタ」。パンは最初冷たいままだされ、2回おかわりしたら、最後は焼きたて熱々のパンを２つも出してくれました。

Lunch-Sized Lasagna and Small-Size "Linquine Fruitti di Mare". Bread was served cold. We asked for more bread twice. The last time, they were hot, baked fresh from the open, and they served 2 loaves of breads.

4月3日ロミタにある「イル・キャンティー」でブランチしました。スピコミフェアに寄って午後2時ごろでした。週末と祭日のみの特別なウイーケンドブランチメニューです。

パスタブランチセットの一部です。クリーミーな味付けでした。自分はもう少し塩加減薄目が好きです。。
ゆったり時間ある時に飲み物と楽しむといいかも。。。
その日私も友人も時間なかったので、デザートのテラミスケーキ（小）はお持ち帰りにしました。

This is also a part of Pasta Brunch Set. The pasta was creamy. I like little bit less salty seasoning. It might be good to enjoy the food with drinks slowly when you have time. My friend and I did not have time that day, so we asked the Dessert, a small Tiramisu, to go.


グループ用テーブルが奥や窓際にあります。パティオ席もあり。

去る10月25日は世界パスタの日でした。全米の"Buca di Beppo"でお祝い。スパゲティー無料でお土産までくれました。レドンドビーチ店に行ってきました。(予告記事はこちらです）

"World Pasta Day"@Buca di Beppo: All Buca locations in USA celebrated "World Pasta Day" on October 25th, offering free Spaghetti and a pack of souvenir, Rummo Pasta noodles that day. We went to Buca in Redondo Beach, CA. (Mentioned in the previous blog.)
「世界パスタの日」なので、パスタメニューを検索しました。何か1品注文すれば、スパゲティーミートソースかスパゲティーマリナラソースが無料とか。。

We looked at Pasta Menu, since it's "World Pasta Day". Spaghetti Meat Sauce or Marinara Sauce will be free with One order of Entree or Pizza that day.

It was crowded four times more than the last time. We were seated to a table in the very back after 5 minute wait. It was the first time to be seated in that area.

10月25日は『世界パスタの日』だそう。1998年10月25日、イタリアのナポリ(パスタ発祥の地）で 「世界パスタ会議」が開催されたことを 記念して制定されたそうです。それにちなんだアメリカのパスタの日特集です。

あさり貝のパスタ。今年2月ぐらいからトレーダージョーズの冷凍食品コーナーに、にんにくバターソースで蒸し冷凍したあさり貝が売られてます。1ポンド(456g)で＄５弱。それを利用しました。1箱常備してます。新鮮なあさりを買いに行けない時に便利です。

Pasta with Clams and White Wine. I used the "Steamer Clams" sold at "Trader Joe's" in the freezer section. They started to carry this from around February 2010. It's cooked in Garlic Butter Sauce, frozen, and sold at $4.99 (1 lb-456g box). I stock one box at home. It's convenient when we don't have time to go buy fresh Clams.

昨晩『Johnnie's NY Pizzeria』サンタモニカ店で夕飯。土曜の夜。3番街ブロムナード内にあり、混雑してました。レストラン・コムの$25お食事券を利用しました。9割引の時＄１で購入。

"Johnnie's NY Pizzeria": We went to the one 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica last night. It was Saturday night and crowded. We used a $25 certificate from Restaurant.com. I purchased it at $1 when it was on 90% Off Sale.
10年前ニューヨーク、ブロードウエイと44番街の『John's Pizzeria』でニューヨーク式煉瓦作りのオーブンで焼いた薄いピッザを食べてから、あの味を忘れられません。ひょっとしたら同じかも、と思って出かけました。

I was craving for a New York style Pizza baked in a brick oven ever since I had one at "John's Pizzeria" on 44th Street in Broadway district, New York 10 years ago. I thought this place must be service the same kind of Pizza.

ガーリックパン、トマトソース添え。これはサービスです。どちらも暖かくて美味しい。

Garlic Bread with Tomato Sauce, served on the house. Both of them were warm and tasty.

シーザーサラダ（半分)
Caesar Salad (Half) $7.25

ちゃんとアンチョビが入ったドレッシング。本格的です。フルサイズだと$9.75。ハーフを2人で分けてちょうどいいぐらいでした。

Anchovy was mixed in the Salad dressing, and it was authentic. Full size is $9.75. Half size was just enough for 2 of us.

海老ディアブロ・パスタ
Shrimp Diablo $14.25

ちょっとスパイシーなトマトソースにグリルした海老とローストしたピーマンを入れ、リングイニ麺をからめたパスタ。

Linguini tossed with sauteed Shrimp in a zesty Tomato, Roasted Papper and Cilantro Sauce.

トマト・バジル・ガーリック・ピザ
どれだけ大きいか比較するため、自分と一緒に撮影。焼きたてで野菜とチーズがトロケマス。。。。

I took it with myself to show how big the Pizza is. It's freshly baked and the Veggies and Cheese were melting.

外にパティオ席あり、中は1階と2階席があります。2階席は大人数用みたいでした。

They have Patio tables outside and tables on the first floor and second floor. The second floor seemed to be for large parties.

ニューヨーク風煉瓦のかまど焼きピッザはめちゃくちゃ美味しかったです。薄い生地なので、シンプルな具が美味しいです。

The New York style Brick Oven Baked Pizza was so good! The crust is so thin, so it goes well with simple ingredients.

It was my first visit to Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica in a few years. It's an urban town.. There are many people....

200人ぐらいの人垣の中では、マイケル・ジャクソンのお面を被ったパフォーマーが上手にダンスしてました。。。

Inside the circle of about 200 people, a performer with Michael Jackson's mask was dancing. His dance was very good.....

1984年にロサンゼルスに出店したらしく、フランチャイズ店は全米各地にあり、カリフォルニア州に16店。

In 1984, it opened the first location in Los Angeles. There are many locations in USA and 16 locations in California.

お持ち帰りピザ箱には、次のロケーションが記載されてました。

今年のクリスマスは『スプーンハウス』でランチしました。クリスマスも通常どうり営業してました。ロス郊外ガーディナ市にあります。

"Spoon House": We went there for lunch on Christmas Day. It was open as usual on Christmas, Dec. 25, 2009. It's in Gardena, CA.

50種類以上のパスタなどのメニュー。ここはトマトソース味が絶品。和風味もいろいろあります。

Over 50 kinds of Pasta menu. Their Tomato Sauce tastes great. There are many Japanese flavor pasta, too.

自家製フランスパンも美味しい。外はパリパリ中はふんわり。1ドルサラダも和風ドレッシングがかかり美味しい。

Their French Baguette tastes great--Crunchy outside and soft inside. $1 Salad is good with Japanese dressing.

大きいミートボールがごろごろ入りミートソースも絶品。パスタはアルデンテ。
Big Meat Balls are in it, and the Tomato Meat Sauce tastes great! The pasta is aldente.

注文してから20分かかります。時間に余裕があったので初めてこれを注文しました。ホタテ、海老、イカなどが入り、ホワイトソースに全くだまが無くクリーミーでした。薄味で私好みでした。
It takes 20 minutes to make. We had a plenty of time, so a few of us ordered this for the first time. It had Scallops, Shrimps, Squid, etc. There was no crumbles in the White Sauce--so creamy and lightly seasoned just the way I like it.

出窓のところのクリスマスツリー飾り。行列で塞がれていたのをちょっとどいてもらって撮影。

近所で評判の『Scardino's』イタリアンを11月8日に再訪。友人がくれた$25のギフトカードと、『レストラン・コム』の$10お食事券があったので利用しました。

"Scardino's" Italian Restaurant: We re-visited last Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009 for dinner. We had a $25 Gift Card that my friend gave me and $10 Gift Certificate of "Restaurant.com". We used both of them.

午後6時で満員。外に並んでます。5－10分待ちと言われ、右端でおとなしく待ってたら、忘れられ、20分待ち。。。後から来た人を先に入れてました。
次回からはしっかりドアの前で待ちます。

It was full at 6 PM, and people were waiting outside. We were told to wait for 5 to 10 minutes. We were waiting at the right side not to bother other customers, then, others who came later got seated earlier than us. We had to wait 20 minutes. Next time we will wait in front of the entrance door.

グリーンサラダ　$4.50と無料のパン。
Mixed Green Salad $4.50 & Free Bread
サラダの量は少なく、イマイチでした。パンはバターが塗ってあり温かく、美味しかったです。

The Salad was small, and it was not much for the price. The bread was warm and tender with butter on. It was good.

イカ、あさり貝、ムール貝、海老とリングイニ・パスタをトマトソースで和えた絶品。

サラミとマッシュルームをトッピングに追加。直径16インチ（40センチ）の巨大ピザ。生地は中厚。焼きたては美味しい。半分お持ち帰りにしました。

We got Salami and Mushrooms for the toppings. It was a huge size at 16 inches ( 40 cm). The pizza crust was medium thick. Freshly baked pizza was great. We took the half home.

地元で人気あるらしく、大入り満員でした。ピザも人気。店の右側にテークアウト専用の窓口があり、そこで注文して出来上がりを待ってる客もいました。
＄25券以外に＄10券もあります。それは＄20以上の食べ物注文要。これら割引お食事券は金曜日や「アーリーサパー３コースイタリアン」には使えないとか、少し制限あります。

火曜から日曜日の４ＰＭから６ＰＭには、「３コース・イタリアン・ディナー」が1人$13.95であります。飲み物つきです。これ狙いの客が多いようです。

There were many customers throughout the night. It is popular among the locals. There is a "Take-Out Window" in the front right side.
$10 and $25 Gift Certificates of Scardino's are available at Restaurant.com. There are some restrictions that you cannot use those for "Early Supper" or on Friday, etc.

From 4 PM to 6 PM on Tuesday to Sunday, they have "Early Supper" for "3 Course Italian Dinner including Beverage" for $13.95 per person. Many people come here for this Early Supper.

先週日曜近所の『California Pizza Kitchen (CPK)』に友人ＭＡさんと再訪。レドンドビーチ市サウスベイ・ギャラリア１階にあります。その1週間前にも訪れ9月22日ブログにアップ。その2日後ＣＰＫサウスベイ・ギャラリア店から＄５クーポン20枚ぐらいと、$10クーポン1枚、会社あてに送られてきました。ＣＰＫの人が私のブログを見たのか？（そんな訳ないでしょうが。。。）

"California Pizza Kitchen (CPK)":I visited the restaurant at South Bay Galleria in Redondo Beach again on 9/27/09 with my friend MA. CPK South Bay Galleria branch sent a $10 coupon and 20 or more of $5 coupons to my office 2 days after I posted "CPK 2" article on my blog. Did a manager of CPK at South Bay read my blog? (I'm just kidding....., maybe a coincidence!)

Well, last time it was almost empty when we visited little after 12 noon. Some more people came after 1 PM, but it was not crowded. This time the place was almost full when we got there around 2:30 PM....... I bet many people took advantage of the $5 off or $10 off coupons.

これです! 前回隣の女性らが食べてたピザ！ピザ欄ではなくサラダ欄にあったので気づきませんでした。チーズピザが薄く香ばしく、おせんべいみたいにカリカリ！冷たいサラダと相性バッチリで美味しい。お勧めです！

This is the one! Last time the ladies next to our table was having, and it looked so good. It was listed under "Salad" instead of "Pizza" on the menu. We did not notice it before. The Caramelized Parmesan pizza crust is very thin and crunchy like baked rice crackers. It went well with chilled Salad. It tasted great. I recommend this!

BLTピザ
BLT Pizza $10.99
If you like a BLT sandwich, you'll love this! Applewood smoked bacon and Mozzarella cheese hearth-baked. Served with fresh sliced Roma tomatoes and chilled shredded lettuce tossed in mayonnaise on the side. Recommended on honey-wheat dough.

BLTサンドイッチやバーガー好きな人にお勧め。スモークしたベーコン、少し焼いたモッツアレラチーズ、ローマトマトのスライス、冷やしたレタスの千切りのマヨネーズ和えをのせたピッザ。

これは失敗。最初の1口は美味しいけれど、マヨネーズ和えの単調な味にすぐあきました。レタスの量が多く、トマトの味をあまり感じなかった。。

This was a bad choice! The first bite is good. But we got bored of the mayonnaise coated shredded lettuce soon. There were tons of lettuce, but just a few sliced tomatoes..

最近サラダ感覚、野菜たっぷりのピザが増えました。隣のテーブルの女性は、「サラダ・ピザ」を食べてました。ピザ生地の上に野菜サラダテンコ盛りで美味しそうでした。

They added some Salad type, Veggi filled Pizza. The ladies next to our table was having "Salad Pizza." It had mountain-full of Vegetable Salad on top of pizza dough. It looked so good.

14年来の友人ＪＵさんもＣＰＫピザが大好きでした。先週9月18日に他界。ＣＰＫのピザを食べながらＪＵさんを偲んでいました。4年前一緒にブレントウッド店で食べたのを思い出します。謹んでJUさんのご冥福をお祈りします。

My friend JU who I have known for 14 years loved CPK pizza. He passed away on 9/18/09. As I tasted CPK pizza, I remembered him and thought about the time we had CPK pizza together at the Brentwood location 4 years ago. May God bless JU and he rest in peace.

9月5日夕飯は『Romano's Macaroni Grill』のエスコンディード店に行きました。サンディエゴ野生動物園のあと同市で1泊。午後6時過ぎに行ったら、店内はほぼ満席でした。全米に200店あるイタリアンレストラン。『Maggiano』の姉妹店です。

"Romano's Macaroni Grill": We had a dinner at this restaurant on 9/5/2009 after visiting "San Diego Wild Animal Park" in Escondido, CA. We stayed a night in Escondido. We got to the restaurant little after 6 PM, and the restaurant was almost full.

ローマの石畳を思わせる落ち着いた店内。
女性オペラ歌手が各テーブルをまわりアカペラで歌う（有料）。興味なければ断れます。右奥にはオープンキッチン。

The interior reminds you of stone-paved Rome, and it's chic. An operetta might come to your table to sing a Romantic song (for gratitude or tips). You can decline, if you are not interested. In the right back, there is an open kitchen.

焼きたてあつあつのパン（無料）を出してくれる。ハウスワインはシャドネー、チャンティー、ホワイト・ジンファンデールとあり、１杯$4.99と安くて美味しい。ボトルでも買える。他にも豊富な種類からワインを選べる。チャンティー（イタリアン赤ワインブレンド）にしました。

They serve freshly baked hot Italian bread (Free). For House wine, they have Chardonnay, Chianti, and White Zinfandale for $4.99 per glass. It's tastey. You can also get them in bottles or other kind of wine from the vast selection. I had Chianti (Italian Blended Red Wine).

シーザーサラダ $3.99 (料理に添えると$1.99）。
これだけ量があって2ドル。お得です。ガーデンサラダも料理に添えると2ドルであります。

Caesar Salad $3.99 ($1.99 with any Entree).
$2 is a good price for this size with volume. They also have a Side Garden Salad at $2 with any Entree.

ヒラメのグリル焼き $17.99
グリルしたヒラメにトマト、ベージルのみじん切りをあしらえ、松の実・パルメジャンチーズ・リゾットを添えて。ヒラメが新鮮で美味しかった。またリゾットと味の相性抜群でした。

Grilled Halibut $17.99
Seasoned halibut topped with a tomato basil relish and served with pine nut pesto Parmesan risotto. The Halibut was fresh and tasty. It went well with the reisotto.

シーフード・リングイニ・パスタ $15.99
大きな海老、軽く火で炙ったホタテ貝、あさり、オーブンで焼いたトマト、新鮮なアルグラ香草などをエキストラ・バージン・オリーブ・オイルで炒めたリングイニ・パスタ。いろいろな食感、味覚、香り、きし麺のような麺の歯ごたえが味わえ楽しい。

Seafood Linguine $15.99
Jumbo shrimp, seared sea scallops and sweet clams sauteed with extra virgin olive oil, oven-roasted tomatoes and fresh arugula. You can enjoy all kinds of texture, taste, flavor, and noodle texture at the same time.

チョコレートケーキ、たっぷりがけ $5.99
チョコレートケーキにホームメードのグラナッシュとピカン・ナッツをかけ、たっぷりチョコレートソースをかけたリッチでビッグなチョコレートケーキ。その横幅と縦幅は15センチずつはあります。Ｅメールクーポンをもらい、このチョコレートケーキが無料でした。半分食べ残りをお持ち帰りにしました。

Smothered Chocolate Cake $5.99
Rich chocolate cake topped with homemade ganache and pecan pieces. It was 6 inches X 6 inches (15 cm x 15 cm) big and rich. We finished a half and took the rest to go. I received an email coupon to get this Chocolate Cake for free.

In Southern California, it got cooler last week, but it got hot again from yesterday. For the next one week, it will go up to 102 F (39 C) in the Valley, 95 F in downtown LA, and 77 F in the Beach area. It got hot, cool, and hot again, and it's not easy to maintain good health condition. Take care of yourself and stay well. Two nights ago, I had a sore throat and caught a cold. I took medicine and got healed in 25 hours. My selling point is good health and quick healing power.

　　昨晩4月22日（水）『カフェ・ルナ』イタリア料理店でディナーを食べました。ポートランドから今週ＬＡに出張中の友人ＣＶさんと。7年前から何度か行きましたが、ここ2年ほどご無沙汰してました。去年オーナーが変わり週7日営業。9時閉店とちょっと閉店が早いのが難点です。

Cafe Luna Italian Cuisine@Torrance:
I went to "Cafe Luna" Italian Restaurant in Torrance for a dinner last night, 4/22/09, with a friend CV who is visiting LA from Portland on business this week. I visited that restaurant several times in the past 7 years, but it was the first time in 2 years. The owner changed last year, and now they are open 7 days a week. They close at 9 PM, so it's little early for me.

アントレーやパスタはスープかサラダ付き。友人ＣＶさんはチキン・サンドライド・トマト・パスタ($12.95)とパスタ・ファジオリ・スープを注文。このパスタには他にマッシュルーム、ねぎが入りホワイト・クリーム・ソースが絡めてありました。少し味見しましたが、クリーミーで美味しかったです。

All Entrees and Pasta Entrees are served with Soup or Salad. My friend CV ordered "Chicken Sun Dried Tomato Fresh Pasta" ($12.95) and "Pasta Fagioli Soup." The other ingredients in the pasta were Mushrooms and Green Onions, and they were cooked in a white cream sauce tossed with Fettuccini. I tasted it a little bit, it was creamy and tasty.

私はスパイシー・シュリンプ・シシリアーノ・パスタ($15.95)とサラダを注文。サラダはハウス・サラダで、イタリアン・ドレッシングが別添え。好みの量をかけれます。このパスタは、ソテーされた海老、ケッパー、黒オリーブをスパイシーなトマトソースで絡めたリングイニ・パスタでした。辛さはマイルドでした。トマトソースの味が良くでて美味しかったです。

I ordered "Spicy Shrimp Sicilliano" ($15.95) and Salad. The Salad is a House Salad with Italian Dressing on the side, so you can add the dressing as much as you like. The Pasta were Sauteed Shrimp, Capers, Black Olives and Mushrooms in a red spicy garlic sauce tossed with Linguini pasta. The spiciness was mild. It was good with their tasty tomato sauce.

ワインはコンキャノン・シラ・ワイン2006年ものを注文。最近の真夏日のせいか生ぬるかったので、アイスバケットを用意してもらいました。典型的シラ・ワイン。まったりと芳醇な葡萄が香ります。セントラル・コーストのカリフォルニア・ワイン。確かこのワイナリーは私の同僚ビルの義理の弟さんが勤めてるワイナリー。別のワインをクリスマスギフト（日本のお歳暮みたいなもの）にもらったことあります。

コンキャノン・シラ・ワイン2006年。 Concannon 2006 Syrah Wine. $24

For the wine, we ordered Concannon 2006 Syrah Wine. Maybe due to the Summer like weather we had recently, the wine was warm. We asked for an ice bucket to chill it. It is a typical Syrah wine. It has flavor of well balanced grapes and smooth. California wine from Central Coast. I believe a brother-in-law of Bill, my coworker, works at this winery. He gave me a bottle of a different wine for Christmas before.

ランチはディナーよりお安く、サラダ類が$5.95から、パスタ類が$6.95からあります。トーレンスにあるミツワマーケットの裏側Carson 通り沿いです。

Their Lunch menu is cheaper than Dinner. Salad starts from $5.95, and Pasta starts from $6.95. The restaurant is located on Carson Street near Mitsuwa Market Torrance.

On 4/11/09, we went to CPK, California Pizza Kitchen at 7th Street Market Place for a dinner before going to watch a NBA Clippers game. The parking will be free for 3 hours at 7th Street Market Place if you get a validation at the restaurant. CPK is California style pizza and pasta restaurant having many locations throughout USA and overseas.

ザ・グリーク・ピッザ　こんがり焼かれたピザにきゅうり、トマトなど生野菜がびっしり。暖めなおす時はどうするのでしょう？ＢＢＱチキンも入ってるはずですが、なかなか見当たりません。。。

The Greek Pizza. On a baked pizza dough, there are lots of fresh vegetables, such as cucumber and tomato. I wondered what should we do when we need to reheat it? There should be some BBQ chicken pieces, too, but it was hard to find those.


チキン・テキーラ・パスタ。チキンの他に、緑、黄、赤の３色ピーマンとテキーラソースがスピナッチ・パスタにまったりからまりなかなかいけました。ライムをかけて食べます。

Chicken Tequila Pasta. They sauteed Chicken and Green, Yellow, and Red, 3 color Bell Peppers with Tequila sauce with Spinach pasta. It was good with Lime juice.

５５階建てや５７階建てビルの谷間にあります。左はErnst Youngビル。
10年前左のビル２４階で働いていました。当時は別の会計事務所が入ってました。

It's located in between 55 story building and 57 story building. The left is Erns & Young Bldg.
I worked on the 24th floor of the left building 10 years ago, when another CPA firm occupied there.

中央にステープルセンターがちらっと見えます。立体駐車場は右側。入り口は７ｔｈＳｔｒｅｅｔにあります。

You can see Staples Center little bit in the center. The parking structure is on the right. The entrace is located on the 7th Street.

この駐車場を８ｔｈＳｔｒｅｅｔ側で出て、すぐ前の屋外駐車場に７ドルで停めて、ステープルズ・センターに向かいました。ステープルズ・センター周辺の駐車場は２０㌦から35ドルします。

We exited from there at 8th Street and parked at an outside parking right there at $7. Parking lots around Staples Cente cost $20 to $30.

They started out with BBQ Chicken Pizza. Now they are serving California style pizza with health conscious.

　　　　　先週水曜日ダイエット成功（途中ですが）を祝して『Buca Di Beppo』イタ飯に行きました。
全米あちこちにあるイタリアン。サウス・レドンドビーチのＰＣＨ通り沿いにもあります。時々宣伝に期限付きギフト・カードを＄10分とシンメニュー案内を送ってくれます。今回もそれを利用。

On Wednesday last week, we went to "Buca Di Beppo" Italian restaurant to celebrate success of my diet (it's still in progress, though..). This restaurant has many locations throughout USA, and there is one in South Redondo Beach along PCH. They send out new menu advertisement with a $10 gift card for a limited time from time to time. We used one of those this time.



　　　　　車社会のロサンゼルス。メイン入り口は裏側の駐車場側にあります。裏入り口が表通りにあり、そこを入ると無人の廊下をぐるぐる歩くとキッチンに入ります。広いキッチンを通過してやっとフロント・デスクがあります。前は40～60分待ちがざらの人気店ですが、不況のあおりでがらんとしてます。
500名は収容できる広いレストランです。フロントに誰も居ないので7分ぐらい待ちました。

　　　　　In Los Angeles most people drive cars, so the main entrance is located in the back near the parking lot. Their sub entrance is located on the PCH. There is nobody to greet you. As you enter the sub entrance, you will walk through hallways, a specious kitchen, and you will find a front desk. This restaurant is popular, so it used to be 40 to 60 minute wait. But with this slow Economy, there were only a few people. We still had to wait 7 minutes, because there was nobody at the front desk.



「バカ・ディ・ベッポ」はファミリースタイルのイタリアンレストラン。食事はシェア（分かち合う）もの。バカ・スモールが２～３人用。バカ・ラージが４～６人用とのこと。
スモールサイズのフライド・カラマリとスモール・サイズのシュリンプ・フラ・ディアボロ（ペンネ・パスタ）を頼む。このカラマリは２人にちょうどいいサイズ。でもこのシュリンプ・フラ・ディアボロ（パスタ）は、４人用。かなりの量ありました。わりと大きい海老が使ってあり美味しかった。ファミリースタイルのイタ飯を楽しみました。



Buca de Beppo is a Family style Italian. Foods are meant to be shared. Buca Small is for 2 to 3 people, and Buca Large is for 4 to 6 people. We ordered a Small Fried Calamari and a Small Shrimp Fra Diavolo(Penn pasta). Calamari was good size for 2 people, but Shrimp Fra Diavolo was good for 4 people. It was huge. It came with large shrimps and pretty good. We enjoyed the family style Italian dinner.



天井にはワイン・ボトルが並んでいます。キッチンの中にもテーブルが２－３あり食事ができます。アメリカ人はキッチンの中のテーブルに座るのが好きな人が多いとか。１度そこに座りました。料理をする音で騒々しかったです。

大人数でいってシェアして食べるのにいいイタ飯。サラダなども大きなボールに入ってくる。ピザもラージサイズはかなり大きい。

It was started in 1993 in Minneapolis. It has 88 locations in USA. It was acquired by Planet Hollywood International Inc in September 2008.
It's a great reastraunt for a large group and to share Italian foods. Their salads are served in large bowls, too. Their Large pizzas are huge.
If you join their e-Club on their website, they will send you gift cards for your birthdays and anniversarys.

先月ラスベガスで訪れた「マッジアーノ」と似てます。「バカ」と言う名前が日本語から連想してなぜか笑ってしまうお店です。

This is similar to Maggiano Restaurant I visited in Las Vegas last month. As a small note, 'buca' or "baca' means something else in Japanese.

Spicy Shrimp ライスと Cream Crab パスタを食べた感想。
パスタとリゾット用に同じソースを使用。さらさらしてスープのよう。リゾットのほうはご飯がすぐ水気を吸うのでいいが、パスタの方は麺がスープを泳いでちょっと食べにくい。パスタの量もアメリカンには少なめ。ご飯はしっかりお腹一杯になりました。リゾットがおススメです。

店内には少しテーブルあり中で飲食可能。Spicy Shrimp Rice　美味しかったです。

Review on "Spicy Shrimp Rice" and "Cream Crab Pasta":
They use the same sauce for both Pasta and Rice. It's waterly like soup. The Rice absorbed it right away, so it was OK. For the Pasta, it was not easy to eat because the noodles were swimming in the waterly sauce. The portion was small for Pasta noodles for American. The Rice portion was large enough, and we became full. I would recommend Rice (Risotto).

There are a few tables inside for dining in the shop. "Spicy Shrimp Rice" was delicious.

　　　　数日前、ピッザソース、モっツアレラチーズ、紫たまねぎ、ピーマン、ベージル、トマト、サラミ、ピザ生地などをトレーダージョーズから購入し、自宅でピザを焼きました。プロほど上手く生地はのばせませんが、焼きたてで美味しかったです。


Easy Home Made Pizza:
A few days ago, we made Pizza by using ingredients purchased at Trader Joe's, such as Pizza Sauce, Mozzarella Cheese, Basil, Bell Pepper, Red Onion, Pizza Dough, and Salami. Freshly baked hot pizza was pretty good.



翌日残った材料をフランスパンを縦に切ったものに載せ、ピッザトーストにしました。昔日本で流行りました。最近はどうなんでしょうか。。


Next day, we made Pizza Toast by placing left-over ingredients on sliced French baguette and baked it in a toaster-oven. It was popular 20 plus years ago while I lived in Japan. I wonder if this dish is still popular in Japan or not....

　　ガーディナ市で創業２０年以上の老舗パスタ専門店『スプーン・ハウス』に12月14日に行きました。友人Ｍさんの誕生日お祝いでした。

　　ここには30種類以上のスパゲティー、ラザーニャなどがあります。いか、うに、たらこ、あさり、だいこんなどをあしらった和風スパゲティーもあります。フランスパンもそのお店で焼かれ、美味しい。

I went to a pasta restaurant, "Spoon House", in Gardena on 12/14/08 to celebrate a birthday for my friend M. There are more than 30 kinds of spaghetti and Lasagna. They also serve Japanese spaghetti using Squid, Sea Urchin, Tarako (Cod Roe), Clams, and Daikon radish. They bake French baguette on site, and that's really tasty, too. It was opened more than 20 years ago.

焼きたてのフランス・パンは１本3ドルで売られています。ここのホームメードのプリンも美味しい。

ハウス・ワインはシャブリ（白）とロゼ・ワインしか置いてない。持ち込みする場合は、自分でワイン・ボトルを開け、1本8ドルか9ドル請求されます。アイスティーはお代わりし放題。日本の喫茶店のようなシロップをくれる。

They sell home baked French Baguette at $3 a loaf. Their home made Fran Pudding is good, too.　　They only have house Chablis(white) and Rose wine. If you bring in wine, you need to open it yourself and they will charge $8 or $9 per bottle.　　Ice Tea is refillable for free. They serve Ice Tea with a syrup likes they serve at coffee shops in Japan.

お昼時は30分待ちもザラ。11時ＡＭから９ＰＭまでずっと開いてるので、早めに行くかズラして行くと待たなくても座れる。店内は狭いため、予約は受け付けない。

During the peak lunch time, prepare to wait for 30 minutes to be seated. They are open from 11 AM to 9 PM throughout, so it's better to go little early or later. They don't take reservations because the restaurant is small and seatings are limited.

　　12月7日（日）、トーレンスの『スカーディノズ』というイタリア料理店に初めて行った。美味しいという話はきいてましたが、今回『レストラン・コム』の＄25お食事券を8割引で購入したのがあったので、それを使用するために、＄50分の食べ物を2人で注文。

どれも美味かった。地元客の間で人気あるらしく、ひっきりなしに客が入れ替わっていました。ピザも人気のようで、注文している人が多かった。店の右側にテークアウト専用の窓口があり、そこで注文して出来上がりを待ってる客もいました。＄25券以外に＄10券もあります。それは＄20以上の食べ物注文要。これら割引お食事券は土曜日は使えないとか、少し制限あります。

大満足の味でした。
日曜はランチもやってるらしいので、今度は友人と日曜のランチに行き＄10券を使いたいなーと思ってます。

Everything we had was delicious.
There were customers in and out throughout the night. This restaurant must be popular among the locals. There is a "Take-Out Window" in the front right side. There were some people placing orders and waiting them to be cooked there.

We were very satisfied. They have Lunch on Sundays, so next time, I want to go there with a friend for Sunday lunch and use their $10 discount gift certificate.
