『ビストロミヨダ・鮨一力』では安くて美味しいランチがあります。6月28日と7月3日に楽しみました。レドンドビーチにあり、ランチは火水木金の午前11時半から午後2時まで、ディナーは火曜から日曜の午後5時半から営業。前回の記事はこちら。

"Bistro Miyoda & Sushi Ichiriki Restaurant": I enjoyed their delicious and special lunch on June 28 and July 3. It opened on Beryl Street in residential area of Redondo Beach around 10 years ago. Lunch is available on Tuesday to Friday from 11:30 am to 2 pm. Dinner is from 5:30 pm on Tuesday to Sunday. Here is the previous blog on this restaurant.

6月28日のランチスペシャルは、コンボ（鮭照り焼き、カリフォルニアロール寿司、鶏から揚げ、サラダ、オレンジ、味噌汁とご飯つき）とポケ丼（ハワイ風まぐろ、はまち入りちらし寿司、サラダ、味噌汁つき）でした。

The Lunch Special on June 28 was "Combo" (Chicken Tatsuta Fried, Salmon Teriyaki, California Roll, Miso Soup, and Steamed Rice) and Poke Don with Miso Soup and House Salad (Hwaiian Style Fresh Tuna and Yellowtail over Sushi Rice).

6月28日は私の誕生日だったので、ウエイトレスさんに写真撮影していただきました。

I asked the waitress lady to take our photo, because it was my birthday on June 28th.

それをオーナーシェフのピーターさんが知り、サービスで出してくれた巻き寿司。ソフトシェル蟹、まさご、カイワレ大根など、いろいろ入って美味しいお寿司でした！ありがたい！

The owner chef, Peter heard about it and served Softshell Crab, Masago, Green Radish Special Sushi to us for free. It was very delicious and appreciated!

この茶碗蒸しもオーナーシェフのピーターさんがサービスで出してくれました。中には海老、銀杏、鶏肉、三つ葉など入り美味しかったです！

The owner chef, Peter, served the savory Steamed Egg Custard Soup to us for free. It had Shrimp, Soft Chicken, Three leaf plants, etc. It was very delicious!

7月3日に『ビストロミヨダ・鮨一力』再訪。その時レドンドビーチ住宅街上空に出てた天使雲です。

I re-visited "Bistro Miyoda & Sushi Ichiriki" Restaurant on 7-3-2013. These angel clouds appeared at that time in the sky in Redondo Beach residential area.

7月３日のランチスペシャルも、コンボ（鮭照り焼き、カリフォルニアロール寿司、鶏から揚げ、サラダ、オレンジ、味噌汁とご飯つき）とポケ丼（ハワイ風まぐろ、はまち入りちらし寿司、サラダ、味噌汁つき）でした。

私と友人Kさんが、ポケ丼を頼んだら、味噌汁とサラダがまずサーブされました。

My friend K and I ordered "Poke Don" that day, and Miso Soup and Salad were served first.

ポケ丼 / Poke Don
ハワイ風マグロとハマチのちらし寿司です。マグロにはすでにお醤油などの味が付き、ねぎや青葉付きで新鮮で美味しかったです。

It's Hawaiian style Tuna and Yellowtail over Sushi Rice. The Tuna had Soy Sauce and other flavors already. It was served with Green Onion and Green Leaves, and fresh and delicious!

コンボ / Combo
友人Joy　さんは、コンボ（鮭照り焼き、カリフォルニアロール寿司、鶏から揚げ、サラダ、オレンジ、味噌汁とご飯つき）を注文しました。

My friend, Joy ordered Combo (Chicken Tatsuta Fried, Salmon Teriyaki, California Roll, Miso Soup, and Steamed Rice).

同日のレストランは9割満員でした。オーナーシェフのピーターさんが後ろに見えるときにJoy さんと写真撮影。アメリカ人客が大勢いらっしゃいました。

The restaurant was 90% full that day. I took a photo of Joy when the owner chef, Peter, could be seen in the back. There were many American customers there.

茶碗蒸し

7月3日は何も云ってませんが、茶碗蒸しをサービスで出してくださいました。ありがとうございます！

We did not say anything, but Steamed Egg Custard was served again for free. Thanks a lot!

こちらもサービスで出されました。感謝です。キュウリとワカメ入り酢の物。

This was served us free, too. Appreciated. Sliced Cucumber and Wakame Seaplants with Vinegar.

『Gajaお好み焼き』で6月8日（土）ディナー食べました。6月4日に訪問した『えぼし拉麺亭』と同じモールにあります。ロミタ市内Lomita Blvd.沿い、Crenshaw Blvd.より1ブロック東側です。

Gaja Restaurant: We had a Okonomiyaki dinner there on Saturday, 6-8-2013. It's located in the same mall with "Eboshi Noodle Bar" in Lomita city, on Lomita Blvd and 1 block East of Crenshaw Blvd.

ミニ海老天丼付きの　Eセットを2つ注文しました。豚肉がついてるのを１つは海老に変えてもらい、3人で分けました。

We ordered 2 sets of "E Set" with Mini Fried Shrimp over Steamed Rice. It comes with Sliced Pork Meat. I asked to change 1 order to Shrimp from Pork Meat. We shared them among 3 people.

お好み焼きは、テーブルの鉄板で焼きました。作れない場合は、中の人に焼いてもらうよう注文できます。

We baked Okonomi-yaki on the Grill at the table. If you don't know how to make Okonomi-yaki, you can order to be cooked at the kitchen and serve them to you.


お好み焼きを焼いてる間に友人と記念写真を撮ってもらいました。

We got our photo taken while waiting for the Okonomi-yaki to be baked.

お好み焼きは焼けたようです。この鉄板はどちらか半分が火が強かったです。焼けた方から3人で分けて食べました。

Looks like Okonomi-Yaki's are baked well. The Grill had higher heat on one Half side. We shared the one baked well first among 3 of us.


完成したお好み焼き。ソース、マヨネーズ、青海苔、かつお節を載せました。

Completed Okonomi-Yaki. Special Sauce, Mayonnaise, Nori Seaseed, and Dried Bonita Fish Chips were placed on top.

店内と入り口にあったサインです。火曜日と日曜日の午後9時半以降なら、お好み焼き上位3種、もんじゃ焼き上位5位、うどん、パスタ、リゾットなど半額だそう。土曜日の夜ではなく、日曜日の夜に行けば良かったです。

They had this sign inside and at the entrance. It's priced 50% off after 9:30 pm on Tuesday and Sunday for Udon, Pasta, or Risotto, Okonomiyaki (Top 5), Monjayaki (Top 5). We should have been there on Sunday instead of Saturday.

『Gajaお好み焼き』のホームページを調べると、ランチだと少し小さめのお好み焼きが$8.25か$9.80であるみたいです。ディナーより安そうです。

I checked the Gaja Restaurant's home page. Smaller Okonomiyaki are available for lunch at $8.25 or $9.80. It's cheaper than dinner.

「石水レストラン」に5月29日にランチ、5月31日（金）にディナーに初めて行きました。他州にあったようですが、トーレンス市に最近開店の日本食店です。

"Sekisui Restaurant": I went to that restaurant for the first time for lunch on 5/29/2013 and for dinner on 5/31/2013. They had restaurants in other USA states before, and it was recently opened in Torrance city. It's a Japanese restaurant.

ランチメニュー　　私らは、他人丼（鮭と雲丹丼）$12、寿司（8種類）$13　を食べました。

Lunch Menu-
We ordered Tanin-Don (Salmon and Sea Urchin Bowl) $12 and Sushi (8 Pcs) $13.

お寿司も他人丼もネタが全て新鮮で美味しかったです！またここにすぐ行きたくなりました！

All ingredients of Sushi and Tanin-Don (Salmon & Sea Urchin) were all fresh and tasted great! I wanted to go there to eat again soon!
バッファロー、ユズレストランなどと同じモールにあります。

It's located at the same mall as Buffalo, Yuzu Restaurant, etc.

5月31日金曜夜に、ディナーで「石水レストラン」に行きました。

I went to Sekisui Restaurant" for dinner on Friday, 5/31/2013.

Akano Tanin-Don $14
Tuna and Sea Urchin
まぐろと雲丹の丼です。どちらも新鮮なネタで、ご飯もとっても美味しかったです。

It has fresh Tuna and Sea Urchin over Rice Bowl. Both of them were very fresh. The Rice was good, and it was very delicious.

Chirashi $14
Chirashi Style Sashimi
卵焼き2個、まぐろ、烏賊、鮭などが入ったちらしです。これもネタがすべて新鮮で美味しかったです。

It had 2 pieces of Baked Eggs, Tuna, Squid, Salmon, and others. All ingredients were fresh. It was very delicious.

サラダ/Salad
ランチもディナーもサラダと味噌汁もサーブされました。

Salad and a Miso Soup were served with Lunch and Dinner for free.

Dinner Menu

ディナーは、ランチより＄１だけ高いのが多かったです。

Most of them were $1 more than Lunch Menu.

「ひろの屋」再訪。先週金曜日贅沢な和食ランチをいただきました。ガーディナの東西プラザ内にあります。ベテランシェフ塩野博之氏による和食居酒屋です。

Hironoya Restaurant: I re-visited here last Friday for a deluxe Japanese lunch. It's located inside Tozai Plaza, Gardena, CA. It's Japanese cuisine and Izakaya tapas restaurant by an experienced chef, Mr. Hiroyuki Shiono.

ランチスペシャルメニュー。平日午前11時半～午後2時まで。

ランチメニューは、日替わりスペシャル、加熱された料理（天ぷら、焼き魚、から揚げ）からお刺身の盛り合わせまであり、値段は$8.50から$18.95（特上海鮮丼）まであります。カウンター席以外に、2人～4人座りのテーブルが50席ほどあり、すぐ埋まってました。

Their lunch menu offers daily special, from kitchen cooked food (Tempra, Grilled Fish, Fried Chicken, etc.) to assorted sashimi, and the price varies from $8.50 to $18.95 (Premium Kaisen Don). There is a counter bar seating and tables of 2 to 4 seating for about 50 seats. The seats filled up quickly.

お店の方がたが、『今日は同じ時間に客がどーっと入って来て満席でびっくりした。こんなこともあるんですね～』と。
『私がランチに入った店は、なぜかすぐどんどん客が入って来て満席になって並んでますよ。』と答えたところ、
『是非、また来て下さい。』と頼まれました。

The waitresses said, "Lots of customers came in at the same time and became full today. It's so strange. There is a day like this."
I replied, "Most of the time, the restaurant I visit for lunch gets lots of customers right away and gets full and people line up to get seats." Then, the they asked me, "Please come visit us again."

「くら回転鮨」トーレンス店再訪。4月28日開店以来5度目でした。いつも混んでるので、今月初め週末遅めの午後9時半に行きました。鮨は全皿＄２です。

Kula Revolving Sushi@Torrance: We visited on Oct. 6, 2012 for the 5th time since its opening on April 28, 2012. It's always crowded, so this time we went there little late around 9:30 pm. All Sushi items are $2 per plate.

コンチ貝にぎり

大好物のカリブ海産コンチ貝のにぎりがあるのが嬉しい。いつもコレを3-4皿たいらげます。

I'm glad they always have my favorite, Conch Clam from the Caribbean ocean. I usually get 3 to 4 plates of this.

遅く行くと並ばなくて座れましたが、あまり鮨が回ってません。ずーっと待ってもサバ、ウナギ、ハマチ、鯛ポンズ、サバが無いので注文しました。大好物の鯵は品切れでした。

We got seated without standing in line because we got there late. That was good, but not many Sushi items are revolving on the belt. We ordered Eel (Unagi), Yellow Tail, Saba Mackerel, and Red Snapper with Ponzu Sauce after waiting for a while. They were out of Aji (Spanish Mackerel), my favorite.

スパイシー貝柱とスパイシーハマチを頼みました。手巻きはウェイターさんに注文して作ってもらいます。

We ordered Spicy Scallops and Spicy Yellowtail Hand Rolls. You need to order Hand Roll sushi to a waiter. Then, they will make and serve them to you.

焼きたてだったらもっと美味しかったことでしょう。遅く行ったので仕方ありません。これで＄2は安い。

It was even better if it were freshly broiled and hot. We went there late, so it was probably revolving on the belt for a while. $2 is a great price for this.

They were served in Jyubako-layered boxes and elegant. The 11 course dinner was $40 per person.

牛テールは口の中でとろけるほど煮込まれ、おいしかったです。野菜は大根、ブロッコリーなど。

Ox Tail was well simmered, soft, melted in mouth, and delicious. The veggie was Daikon Radish, Broccoli, etc.

あつあつほくほくでおいしかったです。

It was hot, soft, and delicious.

8月3日に「Gonpachi(権八)」トーレンス店で夕飯食べました。ミヤコ・ハイブリッド・ホテル内にあります。7月1日から8月31日までビアガーデン開催中。

"Gonpachi Torrance": has a Summer Beer Garden Special until August 31. I went there for a dinner on August 3, 2012.

入ってすぐの暖炉。海から近いトーレンスは夏でも夜は涼しいことが多い。バーではロンドン・オリンピックを放送中。

A fireplace near the entrance. It often gets cool at night even in Summer. TV was showing the London Olympic games in the bar.

その日今大会初めての金メダルを獲得したマイケル・フェリップス。

Michael Phelps won his first gold medal of London Olympic that night.

広島と云えば”お好み焼き”。本場広島風お好み焼きを紙屋町の繁華街に食べに行きました。

"Hiroshima Style Okonomiyaki": It's a must-try-pancake in Hiroshima. We went to one of the malls in Kamiya-cho to eat it.

午後3時半とちょうどランチとディナーの間で閉まってる店が多い時間帯でした。休憩中のお好み焼き店に教えてもらった「徳兵衛」に行きました。ビルの2階にあり、分かりにくい場所。午前11時から午前2時までずっと営業。

It was around 3:30 pm. Many Pancake restaurants close for the break between Lunch and Dinner time. We went to "Tokubei" after getting that info. from a pancake restaurant we went to the first time but they were taking the break time. It's located on the second floor of a building, and it was not easy to find. This restaurant is open from 11 am to 2 am without any breaks.

午後5時までサービスランチありました。肉玉そば、イカ、海老入りの「ランチスペシャル焼き」（850円）と生ビールを注文。

They serve Lunch Specials until 5 pm. We ordered a draft Beer and "Lunch Special Grill" Pancakes. It's 850 yen ($10.75) and comes with Pork Meat, Chowmein Noodle, Squid, and Shrimp.

オープンキッチンの大きな鉄板で本場広島風お好み焼きを焼いているところ。

The Hiroshima style Pancakes are being cooked on a large iron plate in the open kitchen.


お好み焼き生地、焼きそば、目玉焼き、お好み焼き生地、焼きそば、お好み焼き生地と何層にも重ねられます。すっごいボリュームです。

The chef was piling up Pancake, Noodle, Fried Egg, Pancake, Noodle, Pancake, etc., several layers. It's a lot of volume.

テーブル席の熱い鉄板上に焼きたての広島風お好み焼きが運ばれます。お好み焼きソース、マヨネーズ、かつおぶし、青海苔をたっぶりかけて、コテを使って食べます。

焼きたてのお好み焼きと焼きそばに卵がトローリ溶けて美味しい！さすが本場広島のお好み焼きです。冷たい生ビールとお好み焼きでめちゃ幸せでした。

The hot grilled Hiroshima-style Pancake is served on a hot iron plate at your table. You will eat it with an iron spatula, called 'kote' after pouring Okonomiyaki Sauce, Mayonaise, Dried Bonito Flakes, and Dried Amo-Nori Seaweed. The Egg was melting in a bed of Pancakes and Noodles. I was impressed by this Hirosihma-style Pancake. It's so good with a cold Draft Beer. It made me so happy.

先月「ひろの屋」で贅沢な和食ランチをいただきました。ガーディナの東西プラザ内にあります。ベテランシェフ塩野博之氏による和食居酒屋です。

Hironoya Restaurant: I had a deluxe Japanese lunch there last month. It's located inside Tozai Plaza, Gardena, CA. It's Japanese cuisine and Izakaya tapas restaurant by an experienced chef, Mr. Hiroyuki Shiono.

ランチメニュー。平日午前11時半～午後2時まで。

Shrimp and seasonal Vegetable Tempura, Vegetable Nimono, Grilled Mackerel, Salad, Pickles, Miso Soup, Steamed Rice, etc. All of them were delicious.


お刺身の盛り合わせも「ひろの屋弁当」に含まれていました。

先週末金土日とセドナをドライブ旅行しました。ロスから往復1000マイル弱。往復16時間の道のりです。到着した日の晩にセドナで90日ぶりの恵みの雨。翌日も午後と夕方に雨。そのおかげで山火事警報も解除され、インディアン・スエットロッジ初体験できました。スピリチュアルな旅行でした。

I drove to Sedona, AZ last Friday to Sunday. It's about 1000 miles a round trip, 16 hours drive from Los Angeles. It rained the first time in 90 days in Sedona the night we arrived there. It was blessed rain. It also rained the next day after 1 pm and at night. It lifted the brush fire warning in the area. Thanks to the rain, we experience the native American Indian's sweat lodge. It was my first sweat lodge experience. It was a spiritual trip.

トーレンス市南西の『Honda』に3週前の金曜夜お鮨を食べに行きました。8時半ごろ。満席。5分ほど待って、シェフおまかせ鮨10個$24.50にしました。

"Honda Sushi": We went there to eat Sushi dinner on Friday three weeks ago. It was full house around 8:30 pm. We waited 5 minutes to be seated, and ordered "Chef's Special Choice Sushi, 10 pcs" at $24.50.

鯛のにぎりには、ポンズネギ、紅葉おろしが添えてありました。新鮮な生牡蠣にレモン汁、紅葉卸を添えた軍艦巻き。生牡蠣の握り寿司を食べるのは初めてでした。

Snapper with Bonzu was garnished with Green Onion, Grated Radish, and Red Chili Paste. Fresh Oyster was seasoned with lemon juice, Grated Radish, and Red Chili Paste. It was my first time to each fresh Oyster Nigiri Sushi.

『新撰組ちゃんこ茶屋』で、6月18日(月)－20日(水)、「ちゃんこ半額フェアー」開催中。ちゃんこ鍋（しょうゆベース）、博多水炊き（鶏がらスープ）、辛鍋の3種が1人半額の＄10です。さっそく昨晩博多水炊き食べてきました。

"Shinsengumi Chanko" in Gardena is having "Chanko Fair" from June 18 (Mon) to June 20 (W). Hot Pot of Chanko, Hakata Mizu-taki (Chicken), or Kara Nabe (Spicy Soup) will be $10 per person. Regular price is $20 per person. We went there and had "Mizu-taki (Chicken) Hot Pot last night. The order is 2 person minimum for these pots.

月曜から水曜の午後9時半までハッピーアワー。サッポロ生ビールやビッチャーが半額とか。ねぎ、もみじおろし、ポンズ醤油の薬味を食べるときにつけます。

It's Happy Hour until 9:30 pm on Monday to Wednesday. Sapporo Beer is half price. The pitcher was $7 (Left). For seasoning, we used Shinsengumi custom-made Yuzu-Pepper, Momiji Oroshi (Radish Red Pepper mixture), chopped Green Onion, and Ponzu Sauce.

材料を鍋に入れる前に、まず、鶏がらスープをいただきます。20時間以上煮込んだ濃厚な鶏がらスープです。
煮込んだ骨付き鶏は鍋の中に入ってました。

Mizu-taki uses Chicken Broth Soup cooked for more than 20 hours, and it's great. We enjoyed that Chicken Soup with chopped Green Onion before adding Ingredients to the Hot Pot. The soup contains lots of Collagen and it tasted great! Cooked Chicken Drumlets were already in the Hot Pot.

博多水炊きの材料が運ばれました。鶏つくね、しいたけ、キャベツ、春雨、ねぎ、豆腐など。

The Ingredients for "Hakata Mizu-Taki" Hot Pot were served. They are Ground and Seasoned Chicken, Shiitake Mushroom, Cabbage, Bean Thread Noodle, Green Onion, Tofu, etc.


チャンポン麺を注文し、残りのスープでシメに食べます。待ってる間にスープが減り、継ぎ足してくれました。

We ordered Chanpon Noodle and added to the remaining Chicken Soup. The waiter added more Chicken Soup in the pot for us.

ねぎ巻き焼鳥、つくね、豚バラ。博多風やきとりは豚バラが主流です。隣の「新撰組焼鳥」から注文しました。

We ordered Green Onion Chicken Roll, Tsukune Chicken Meat Ball, and Pork Belly Brochettes from the next door, "Shingsengumi Yakitori" for appetizer.

店内にあった広告。6月20日（水）まで「ちゃんこ半額フェアー」開催中。
2名以上から。事前予約した方が確実。博多水炊きの場合は1日前までに予約要。期間中は、午後6時から8時、または8時半から10時半の入れ替え制。

お昼1時前に行きました。注文してできあがるのを待ってる客が多かったです。混んでるときは30分待ちがざらなので、電話注文がお勧めです。

I went to pick it up little before 1 pm. There were many customers who are waiting for their orders to be cooked. It could take 30 minutes when it's crowded, so it's better to call for take-outs or eat-in before you get there.

「くら回転鮨」トーレンス店が先週土曜4月28日開店。さっそく同日行って来ました。全ての寿司ネタは1皿＄２です。182番街沿いでWestern Ave.の少し西側にあります。以前「ガーディナラーメン」が入ってた店舗です。

Kula Revolving Sushi@Torrance opened on Saturday, April 28, 2012 on 182nd Street little West of Western Avenue in Torrance, CA. We went there on the opening day. "Gardena Ramen" used to be there at that location.

２－３年前にアーバインにロス1号店が開店した日本の「くら回転鮨」です。リトル東京店が今年1月に開店。トーレンス店がやっと開店しました。まぐろが新鮮なことで定評のあるお店です。カリブ海産コンチ貝のにぎりも歯ごたえあり美味しいです。

"Kula Revolving Sushi" opened it's first Los Angeles store in Irvine 2 to 3 years ago. Their Little Tokyo branch opened in January 2012. Torrance branch finally opened 3 days ago. Their Tuna is known to be really fresh. Also their Conch Clam nigiri Sushi is so fresh, chewy, and tasty.

日本の食材がいろいろ揃うロサンゼルスですが、鯵はスーパーではなかなか手に入りません。お寿司屋さんでの楽しみです。

Many kinds of Japanese food can be purchased in Los Angeles. Aji Spanish Mackerel is seldom sold at markets, so I enjoy eating them at Sushi restaurants.

手巻き寿司　1本$2
Handroll Sushi $2 per piece
スパイシー貝柱とスパイシーハマチを頼みました。手巻きはウェイターさんに注文して作ってもらいます。ごはんの量が多いので、最初の方に手巻きを食べて腹ごしらえです。

We ordered Spicy Scallops and Spicy Yellowtail Hand Rolls. You need to order Hand Roll sushi to a waiter. Then, they will make and serve them to you. I usually get Hand Roll sushi at the beginning to fill up my stomach.

席が回転ベルトの終わりのほうだったので、鯵やコンチがなかなか回ってこず、ウェイターさんに注文しました。最初にアサヒビール大瓶を注文したところ、サッポロビールを持ってきました。違うというと、今度は熱燗のお酒を持ってきました。ビールをもらうのにかなり時間かかりました。1週間ぐらいすると慣れると思います。

Our seats were at the end of the revolving belt, so we could not get Aji and Conch after waiting for a while. We ordered them through a waiter. Also we ordered a large Asahi Beer at first. The waiter brought a Sapporo beer. I said, "No we ordere Asahi." Then, he brought a hot Sake. I said, "We ordered a large Asahi Beer." The waiter brought it finally. It took a while to get the beer. The waiters will probably get used to the orders in about a week.

開店祝いのお花が飾られきれいでした。

There were lots of flower arrangements celebrating the opening. It was beautiful.

ここから車で5分ぐらいの距離に「がってん寿司」回転寿司ガーディナ店が4月23日にオープンしました。マルカイの並びです。他にも既存のお寿司屋さんが多いサウスベイ・エリアです。

Another revolving Sushi, "Gatten Sushi" opened in Gardena near Marukai Market and just 5 minute driving distance from "Kula Revolving Sushi Torrance" branch. There are many other existing Sushi Restaurants in the South Bay area.

『新撰組焼鳥』ガーディナ本店19周年スペシャル中。4月27日まで。昨日行ってきました。焼鳥プレートか焼鯖塩プレートのランチが＄５です。
（通常＄９が＄５/Yakitori Plate $5, Regularly $9 ↓)

"Shinsengumi Yakitori" at Gardena location has 19th Anniversary $5 Lunch Special this week through April 27, 2011.

Yakitori Plate or Grilled Saba Mackerel Plate Lunch are served at $5 each. I went there on April 24th for lunch. Yakitori is grilled Chicken. They are grilled on charcoal.

トーレンスの居酒屋『Ojiya』でランチしました。初訪問でした。
（黒豚カツ丼・ランチ /Black Pork Cutlet Lunch $8.80↓ )

"Ojiya Izakaya@Torrance": I had a lunch there. It was my first visit.

ランチメニューの一部。お寿司、お刺身、定食、魚、肉、サラダ、そば、うどんなどいろいろあります。

A portion of Lunch Menu. They have Sushi, Sashimi, Combination, Fish, Meat, Salad, Soba, Udon Noodle, etc.

黒豚カツ丼を頼むと、冷奴とサラダがでました。
As I ordered "Black Pork Cutlet", they served Cold Tofu and Salad.


お味噌汁も出ました。
黒豚豚カツは柔らかくて、だしと半熟卵がからみ、美味しかったです。

They also served Miso Soup.
The Pork Cutlet was tender. A light Japanese Broth Soup and over-easy egg were poured on it. It was delicious.


抹茶ライスプディング　$3
Green Tea Rice Pudding
黒豚豚カツでお腹一杯でしたが、デザートメニューを見ると、ついつい食べたくなり、注文しました。
冷たく冷やしてあり、甘めで美味しかった。

I was full after eating Black Pork Cutlet, but I ordered this after looking at the Dessert menu.
It was chilled, sweet, and good.

先週土曜「くら回転鮨」リトル東京店を初訪問。ほとんどのネタが1皿＄２です。日本村プラザ２番街沿いにあります。

Kula Revolving Sushi@Little Tokyo: is located at Japanese Village Plaza on 2nd Street in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles, CA. I visited that branch for the first time on Saturday, Feb.18, 2012.

２－３年前にアーバインにロス1号店が開店した日本の「くら回転鮨」です。このリトル東京店は今年1月に開店したようです。まぐろが特に新鮮なことで定評のあるお店です。カリブ海産コンチ貝のにぎりも歯ごたえあり新鮮で美味しいです。

お腹一杯食べましたよ～～。

We ate a lot, and we were full.

モツ鍋和食『博多やまや』がトーレスに2010年3月開店。週6日ランチ定食あり、やまや辛子明太子、高菜、ご飯食べ放題付き。1月7日に再訪しました。

"Hakata Yamaya Restaurant" opened in Torrance on March 8, 2010. With the Lunch Menu, they offer "All-You-Can-Eat Karashi Mentaiko, Takana Pickles, and Rice". Mentaiko is Marinated Pollock Roe, Japanese style caviar. We re-visited there for lunch on Jan. 7, 2012.

明太子のやまや直営です。焼肉『山水亭』を同年２月末に閉店し３月８日リニューアル。去年3月から月曜定休。

They closed "San-Sui-Tei Yakiniku BBQ" as of Feb. 28, 2010, and renewed it to a Japanese Restaurant offering Motsu Nabe (Beef Intestine Soup Pot) , Shabu Shabu (Thinly Sliced Beef Soup Pot), Sukiyaki (Thinly Sliced Beef Sauteed in a pot with Soy Sauce and Sugar), Yakiniku, etc. They are serving Lunch Menu 6 days. It's closed on Mondays since March 2011.

ランチスペシャルは、高菜、辛子明太、ご飯食べ放題付きで$9.80。週6日あり。

Lunch Special is $9.80, 6 days a week, with All-You-Can Eat "Takana" and "Karashi Mentai (Cod Roe)".

It came with Rice and Miso Soup, but there was no Salad.

鶏肉、人参、さといも、竹の子、ごぼう、コンニャク、しいたけなどが入り、懐かしいお味でした。

It had Chicken, Carrots, Sato Potato, Bamboo Shoots, Gobo Roots, Konnyaku, Shiitake Mushroom, etc. It was nostalgic taste reminding me of my grand mother.

ゆずに付けてあり、さっぱりしたお味。新鮮で美味しい！これだけでもご飯がすすみます。

It's marinated in Yuzu citrus sauce. It's fresh, refreshing, and delicious! I can eat lots of Steamed Rice with this alone.

2ヶ月に1度はここのランチを食べに来てます。11時半の営業前から並んで待ちました。中に入って20分経つと満席でした。

I come here to eat lunch every two months or so. We lined up and waited from little before 11:30 am opening time. It was full house 20 minutes later.

トーレンス市南西の『Honda』に先先週の金曜夜お鮨を食べに行きました。7時半ごろ。満席。10分待つ間メニューを見て、シェフおまかせ鮨10個$24.50にしました。
(鯛にぎり・ポンズ、ネギ、紅葉おろし添え。Snapper with Bonzu, Green Onion, Grated Radish ↓）

"Honda Sushi": We went there to eat Sushi dinner on Friday two weeks ago. It was full house around 7:30 pm. We looked at the menu while we waited for 10 minutes to be seated, and ordered "Chef's Special Choice Sushi, 10 pcs" at $24.50.

The appetizer on the house was Fresh Cabbage with Soy Sauce and Vinegar. We toasted with Beer!

サラダ / Salad
シェフおまかせ鮨について来たサラダ。グリーンミックス、ポテトサラダ、メロン、オレンジ付きでした。

This Salad came with "Chef's Special Choice Sushi". It had Green Mix, Potato Salad, a slice of Melon and Orange.

ひらめ / Halibut
レモン塩少々かけてありました。

with slight hint of Lemon juice and Sea Salt.

鯖のにぎり、とり貝のにぎり。

Mackerel Nigiri, Cockle Clam Nigiri.

コンチ（ほら貝）にぎり、イカと青葉のにぎり。

Conch Nigiri, Squid with Ooba Leaf Nigiri.

鮭、ハマチ
Salmon, Yellowtail
どちらも適度な脂がのり新鮮でした。

Both of them had right amount of fat and fresh.

白マグロのにんにく醤油漬け、海老。

どちらも暖かくほっとするお味。美味しい。普通の味噌汁もあります。
お寿司10巻、サラダ、茶碗蒸し、なめこ味噌汁でおまかせセットは終了。

Chawanmushi (Steamed Egg Soup) and Nameko Mushroom Miso Soup was served. Both of them warmed me up. They were very good. They also have regular Miso Soup. The Chef's Choice Sushi Plate was for 10 Pcs of Sushi Nigiri, Salad, Chawanmushi, and Miso Soup. We ate them all.

大晦日の夜は、カウントダウンパーティーがあるそう。寿司、巻き寿司、刺身、前菜、シャンペーン付。予約すると１人$30、予約無しだと$35とか。。

They are having a "New Year Countdown Party" on Dec. 31. It includes Sushi, Sashimi, Roll, Appetizer, and Champagne. $30 with booking or $35 walk-in.

ホンダスパイシーソース添え。カットか手巻きが選べ、カット（８切り）を注文。盛り付けもお洒落です。

It came with Honda Spicy Sauce. You can choose "Cut" or "Hand-Roll", and we asked for "Cut" (8 pcs). Arranging the Roll on the plate is beautiful, too.

鯵のにぎり
Spanish Mackerel Nigiri
鯵1尾を目の前でさばいて、2枚におろし、2巻のにぎり寿司にしてくれました。１オーダー2巻でした。普段なかなか食べれない鯵。ひさびさでした。ポンズ、紅葉おろし、ねぎがかかり新鮮。美味しい！

The chef cut up and cleaned a whole fish of Spanish Mackerel in front of me and got 2 filet and made it into Nigiri Sushi. 2 pieces came with 1 order. We can rarely find fresh Spanish Mackerel in Markets in LA. It's been a while since I had fresh Spanish Mackerel Sushi. It was garnished with Ponzu Sauce, Momiji radish, and chopped Green Onion. It was delicious.

先月日曜の晩、「ZENYA」で遅い夕飯しました。トーレンス南部ローリングヒルズプラザのNijiyaの並びにあります。群馬県四万温泉の老舗旅館「四万やまぐち館」の味がLA上陸！とか。今年7月開店。

"ZENYA Restaurant" opened in Torrance last July. We went there for a late dinner on Sunday last month. It's located near Nijiya Market at Rolling Hills Plaza mall in south Torrance. An ad on US Lighthouse.com said, "The tastes of "Shiman Yamaguchi-kan" at Shiman Hotsprings, a long established Inn in Gunma prefecture, Japan came to LA!"

リブアイステーキ、グリルサーモン、グリルチキン、ポークソテー（これら全てテリヤキかZENYAソースか選択可）もあります。ご飯は＄１増しだそう。

They have Rib Eye Stakes, Grilled Salmon, Grilled Chicken, and Pork Sauteed. You have a choice of Teriyaki Sauce or ZENYA Sauce for all of them. Steamed Rice is available at $1 more.

ランチとディナー両方が載ってます。お酒や焼酎も充実してるみたいです。串焼きや前菜もある居酒屋でもあり、和洋食、ラーメンなど豊富なメニューです。

It shows both Lunch and Dinner menu. They have varieties of Japanese Sake and Shotsu Vodka. Their menu includes Kushiyaki Skewers and Appetizers for Izakaya. They also serve Japanese Food, Beef Steaks, Grilled Salmon, and Ramen Noodles---varieties of Menu.

あつあつでさくさくしてました。野菜の串揚げはほぼ1本1ドルです。毎回サラダが少し盛り付けてあるのが嬉しい。

It was deep fried, hot and crispy. Most Vegetable Skewers are $1 per skewer. It comes with a small Salad each time, and we like it.

豚骨ラーメン (博多かた麺）
TONKOTSU Ramen
Regular $7.95, Large $8.95, Half $5.50
本格博多ラーメンのかた麺を使用。ラーメンのだしは、美味しいけれど博多ラーメンの味とはちょっと違う感じです。豚骨スープにあとから油を少し足したようなお味。（福岡出身なので博多ラーメンにはうるさいです。すみません。）化学調味料は一切使ってないそう。

Authentic Hakata Noodles are used. The broth soup is good but little different from the authentic Hakata Ramen taste. It tasted as if they added a little bit of Oil to the Pork broth Soup afterwords. (I'm from Fukuoka, the Mecca of Hakata Ramen, so I'm very picky. Sorry.) They are not using any MSG nor artificial ingredients.

チャーシューの他にプリプリの海老ワンタンが2個入ってます。塩ラーメンの麺は平たいきしめん風。

We were lucky to have a later dinner there from 10:20 pm. They were open until 11 pm that Sunday. Their published closing time is 11:30 pm, but sometimes they close at 11 pm. Please call and confirm the closing time before you get there.

その日9月18日は、午後1時半から佐伯チズさんの「美肌革命」の講演会に出て、午後6時から五日市剛さんの「ツキを呼ぶ魔法の言葉」の講演会に出て、サインしてもらったら午後10時でした。それからの遅い夕飯でした。

That day was Sunday, September 18, 2011. I attended a seminar of "Japanese Skincare Revolution" by Ms. Chizu Saeki from 1:30 pm and another seminar of "Lucky Magic Words" by Mr. Tsuyoshi Itukaichi from 6 PM to 9:15 pm. I lined up to get his auto-graphs on the books I purchased and finished it around 10 pm. My friend and I went to have a dinner later after that.

『博多やまや』で8月28日ディナーのみ焼肉・ホルモン焼きが半額でした。南トーレンスのローリングヒルズモール内にあります。ディナーは午後5時半から。1時間前から1番乗りで並びました。5時5分前には行列に23名並んでました。

"Hakata Yamaya" had 50% off Sale on All BBQ items during Dinner on August 28, 2011. It's located in Rolling Hills Mall, South Torrance. Their dinner is served from 5:30 pm. We lined up as the first customer around 4:30 pm. When I looked back the line around 4:55 pm, there were 23 people in the line.

It was advertised on "Lighthouse USA" Japanese local magazine.
I did not notice the ad, but a friend called me, and I joined her.

The last weekend, the temperature went up to the highest of this Summer, around 95 F (35 C) in South Bay area.

これは焼肉じゃないので半額になりません。
やまやの明太子一腹の5－6等分したもの3切れ、山芋とろろ、刻み乗りなどがご飯にかけてあります。お醤油はお好みで。ふわふわのとろろ、やまやの明太両方味わえて幸せでした。

Yamaya Mentai Roe, Grated Yamaimo Potato, and Shredded Sea-weed are poured over Steamed Rice. Add Soy Sauce for your taste. I enjoyed fluffy Grated Yamaimo Potato and Yamaya Mentai Roes.

『琴平』に先日行ってきました。ガーディナ東西プラザにあります。今日また行くかも。平日ランチスペシャルが＄5.99(460円）です。

"Kotohira" in Gardena has $5.99 Lunch Special Monday to Friday. I went there a month ago. I plan to be there today or tomorrow, too.

Weekday $5.99 Lunch Special is from 11:30 am to 2 pm. They also have other menus.
That day the choice was "Beef Soba Noodle" or "Grilled Udon Noodle with Beef". It came with home-made Potato Salad, Pickles, Barley Tea, and Ice Cream.

『ふかがわ』に6月末土曜夜再訪。ガーディナのマルカイパシフィックモールにあります。ここはまるで東京の深川に瞬間移動したみたいです。隣にビジネスホテルあり、お一人様客も多い。

"Fukagawa Restaurant": We went there for dinner on Saturday, June 25th. It's located at Marukai Pacific Mall in Gardena, CA. You feel like you have traveled in space seconds to Fukagawa, downtown Tokyo.

懐かしい「ヒレカツサンド」お持ち帰り用や　和風朝食（７am－11am）もあり。

Pork Fillet Cutlet Sandwich to go and Japanese Breakfast (7 to 11 am).

メニューの一部。他にそば、うどん、丼物、しゃぶしゃぶ、すき焼き、ステーキなどいろいろ。。。

ふか川重 /Fukagawa-jyu $9.95
東京深川名物の「ふかがわ重」。あさりときざみ玉葱を和風だしで煮て卵をかけた一品。親子丼風のだし汁。
冒頭の写真が、ご飯の上にかけた状態。お漬物、味噌汁付き。

Asari-Clam and Chopped Onion are simmered in Soy Sauce base broth and garnished with Egg. This dish originates from Fukagawa in Tokyo, Japan. The top photo is how it looks like after poring the cooked ingredients to the bed of Steamed Rice. It came with Pickles and Miso Soup.

豚カツのロース部分の定食。外は香ばしくさくさく。中の肉は柔らかくてジューシー。漬物、味噌汁付き。

Pork Sirloin Cutlet. It's crispy outside and soft and juicy inside. It comes with Pickles and Miso Soup.

漫画がたくさんあります。待ってる間に漫画「JIN」を19巻まで読書。
少し前に店内改装。お一人様用カウンター席が増えました。

They remodeled interior little while ago. They have lots of Counter table for single guests.

店内に貼られた有名人のサインの一部。王監督、伊良部選手のもありました。

A part of their celebrities' autographs collection. I found baseball Manager Sadaharu Oh and baseball player, Hideki Irabu.

店内の飾りも東京下町風で素敵です。

The display sounds like downtown Tokyo style and nice.

『かんたろう寿司』に6月末の土曜日再訪。トーレンスにあります。ここは日本の近所のお寿司屋さんみたいでリラックスできます。店内にはTV ジャパン衛星放送の日本語TV放送やケーブルのスポーツ番組が流れ日本の週刊誌やアメリカの週刊誌もある。

Kantaro Sushi: Last Saturday of June, we went there for lunch. This restaurant is in Torrance and a laid back neighborhood sushi place.

A TV in the restaurant plays Japanese satellite TV programs or local American TV programs. There are Japanese tabloid magazines and American tabloid magazines.

They serve plenty of chilled vegetable with home-made Italian dressing.

味噌汁 /Miso Soup
お椀になみなみと注がれたお味噌汁。わかめ、ねぎ、油揚げ入り。

They serve it plenty in a Miso Soup bowl. It has Wakame Seaweed, Green Onion, and Soybean Curd.

特上にぎりすし
Sushi Supreme $16.90.
漬物、サラダ、味噌汁、アイスクリームこみ。
3人ともこれにしました。　雲丹、いくら、中トロも入ってます。

It comes with Pickles, Salad, Miso Soup, and Ice Cream.
Three of us ordered this. It has Uni Sea Urchin, Ikura Salmon Roes, and Chu-toro Fatty Tuna, as well.

青柳貝、ひらめはゆず胡椒とレモン汁をかけていただきます。

You will taste Aoyagi Clam and Halibut with Yuzu Pepper and Lemon Juice.

特上ちらし（うに入り）を頼んだところ、雲丹が無いそうで、ちらしを注文。鮭、いくら、マグロ、タコ、海老、玉子焼き、青しそ、大根のケン、味噌汁、緑茶、オレンジがついてきました。

We ordered "Chirashi Deluxe", but they were out of Sea Urchin. We ordered "Chirashi". It came with fresh slices of Salmon, Salmon Roe eggs, Tuna, Octopus, and Baked Egg, OOba Leaf, Shredded Daikon Radish, Miso Soup, Green Tea, and a slice of Orange.

バッファーロー・ウイング、フィッシュ・アンド・チップ、サンプル盛り合わせ(餃子、フライド・ポテト、コロッケ）などの前菜もあります。

They also serve appetizers, such as Buffalo Wings, Fish and Chips, and Sample Platter (Gyoza Dumpling, French Fries, Croquette).

本日6月17日松井レストランの「マツイ丼GoGoスペシャル」が$5.50です。今年もまたやってます。松井秀喜選手が本塁打を打った翌日この値段です。（通常$12.25）。

"Matsui 55-GoGo Special" is going on the day after Hideki Matsui hit a home run. He hit a home run yesterday, so "GoGo Matsui Bowl" is $5.50 today, June 17th. The regular price is $12.25 for seven Tempura Shrimps and Vegetables over Rice with Miso Soup.

6月14日もホームランを打った松井。6月15日夕方ゴーゴー松井丼スペシャル食べました。

イートインのみ。テークアウトはありません。でも食べ残しは、容器をもらって持って帰ります。

おとといも海老天3本食べ、4本はお持ち帰りにし、翌日お蕎麦にのせ、海老天そばにしました。

Matsui hit a home run on June 14th, and I had GoGo Matsui Special Don on June 15th.

It's for Eat-in Only, no take out. But if you eat inside and could not finish, you can get a box and take the food to go.

On June 15th, I ate 3 Shrimps and took out 4 Shrimps to go. I made a hot Soba Noodle next day and added the Fried Shrimps on top of it.

Actually, I went to eat here for lunch today, too, just 20 minutes ago.

5月20日花金は東京在住の同級生と居酒屋『てんまい』にて飲みました。東京スカイツリー建設中の錦糸町にあります。

"Izakaya Tenmai, Tokyo: I went to drinking with some friends from high school who live in Tokyo. It's located in Kinshicho. Tokyo Skytree tower is being built there.

まずはビールで乾杯！　突き出しと地鶏グリルがでました。

Cheers with Beer! Appetizers and Grilled Organic Chicken were served.

『山吹レストラン』再訪。先週土曜日のランチに。レストラン・コムのお食事券を利用しました。

"Yamabuki Restaurant": We went there again for lunch last Saturday. We used a Restaurant.com certificate.

にぎり寿司６巻（まぐろ、白鮪、鮭、海老、白身魚、卵）、カリフォルニアロール４個、手製すくい豆腐、煮物、サラダ、味噌汁付き。

Nigiri Sushi (Tuna, Albacore, Salmon, White Fish, Shrimp, Tamago Egg) and California Rolls (4 pcs), Cold Tofu, Cocked Vegetable, Salad, and Miso Soup.

和風デザートもおいしそうです。。　(お花はこの後寄ったサウスコースト植物園にて撮影。）

Their Japanese Desserts look good, too.... The flower photo is from South Coast Botanical Garden I stopped by after this.

なぜか店内ではオペラDVDを上映してます。ホセ・カレーラスが「川の流れのように」を日本語で歌ってました。

They often play Opera DVDs inside. Jose Carreras was singing "Kawa no Nagare no Yō ni (Like River Runs)" in Japanese.

『新撰組焼鳥』ガーディナ本店18周年スペシャル中。4月29日まで。さっそく今日行ってきました。焼鳥丼、焼鳥弁当、焼魚定食のランチがどれでも＄５です。
（焼鳥弁当通常＄９が＄５/Yakitori Bento Box $5, Regularly $9 ↓)

"Shinsengumi Yakitori" at Gardena location has 18th Anniversary $5 Lunch Special this week through April 29, 2011. Yakitori Don, Yakitori Bento Box, and Grilled Fish Set Lunch are served at $5 each. I went there on April 26th for lunch. Yakitori is grilled Chicken. They are grilled on charcoal.

また4月30日までの来店者数を数え、東日本震災被災者へ義援金を送るそう。

Also they are counting the amount of customers eating at Shinsengumi restaurants until April 30, 2011. They are donating some portion according to the count to the earthquake and Tsunami victims in Japan.

12時5分前に到着。待たずに座れました。平日ランチはアメリカンの客が多いです。18周年スペシャル中とは知らずに来た客も多かったようです。

I arrived there at 11:55 am and got seated without waiting. There are many American customers for weekday lunch. Many of them came without knowing they are having 18th Anniversary $5 lunch special.
