ラスベガス「PHOカフェ」でディナーしました。2月20日バレーオブファイヤーに行った帰り夜10時前でした。同じTIカジノホテル内にある「Khotan」アジア料理店に行きたかったのですが、日曜・月曜お休みでした。

"Pho Vietnamese Coffee Shop" We went there for a late dinner around 9:50 pm on Feb.20, 2011 on the way back from Valley of Fire State Park. It's located inside T.I.Hotel Casino in Las Vegas. We wanted to go to "Khotan" Asian Restaurant inside T.I., but it's closed on Sundays and Mondays.



お目当てのフォーは、$11.95から。ストリップ沿いのカジノ内にあるせいかちょっと高め。

PHO Noodle Soup was from $11.95 and up. It's higher, maybe because it's on the strip in Las Vegas.

薄くスライスした牛肉入りフォー。麺は米粉使用。
これにたんまりもやし、バジルの葉、緑チリを入れ、ライムを搾ります。

Rare Beef with Rice Noodle Soup.
You will add lots of Bean Sprouts, Basil Leaves, Green Chili, and Lime Juice.

細くほぐした鶏肉入りフォー。麺は米粉使用。もやし、バジルの葉、緑チリ、ライムジュースをたんまり入れました。
あっさりした味付け。ほとんど味がありません。テーブルにあるお醤油、ホットソースなどで味付け。

Shredded Chicken with Rice Noodle Soup. It's plain. You need to add seasonings on the table, such as Soy Sauce and Hot Sauce. I added lots of Bean Sprouts, Basil Leaves, Green Chili, and Lime Juice.

2月20日バレーオブファイヤー訪問。ラスベガスから車で1時間15分、55マイル北東にあるネバダ州州立公園です。

"Valley of Fire State Park, Nevada": We visited there on Sunday, February 20, 2011. It's located about 55 miles, 75 minute northeast from Las Vegas by car.

ラスベガス市内から高速 15号線を北へ約 35マイル （約56km） 走り、75番出口で降り、道なりに 20分ほど走ると料金所のゲートに到着。その中を1時間半、車で観光しました。

We drove Free Way 15 to North for 35 miles (56 km), got off at Exit 75, and drove another 20 minutes to get to the entrance gate. Inside the state park we drove around and stop at several places for one and a half minutes.

1億5千万年の時を経て形成されたオレンジ色の岩の数々。大自然の豊かさに比べ、人間はちっぽけに見えます。

These Orange rocks were formed over time in 150 million years. Compared to the vast and rich mother nature, human beings look tiny.

水や風に形成された珍しい形の砂の塊。近くにグループ用キャンプ・エリア3箇所あり。キャンプするには予約要。

Unusual sandstone formations weathered by the eroding forces of wind and water. Nearby are three group camping areas, available by reservation only.

ラスベガスメイン通りから1時間20分ほどで、大自然。そこは別世界です。

Here you are in mother Nature. It's just 1 hour 20 minutes from Las Vegas main strip. It's a different world.

楽しく7人姉妹のように並んだ赤岩は、道路沿いにありアクセスし易いです。ピクニックエリアあり。

Fascinating red rock formations are easily accessible from the road. Picnic areas provide a relaxing stop during your Valley tour.

大自然に感謝★ Red Rock Canyon, NV 12/3/10

ラスベガス近郊に、レッドロックキャニオンやバレーオブファイヤーの大自然あり感謝です。
よく考えると、1951年から1992年まで925回核実験が行われたネバダ核実験場も1時間半ほどベガスから北に行った所らしいです。アメリカ政府が行ったこととは云え、大自然を破壊して来たことに今更気づきました。

We are grateful that there are mother Nature near Las Vegas, such as Red Rock Canyon and Valley of Fire. But as I think about it, US government has done 925 nuclear bomb testing between 1951 and 1992 at Nevada National Security Site (NNSS), formally called Nevada Testing Site (NTS). I heard it's just 1 hour 30 minutes north of Las Vegas. I just realized the mother nature had been destroyed by human beings--American government did that.

"Buffet of Buffets": "7 Buffets, All Day Pass at $44.99" is available at seven Harrahs Casino Hotels in Las Vegas. I tried it last weekend.

このバフェ1日券は、ラーゴ・バフェ（シーザースパレス）、パラダイス・ガーデン（フラミンゴ）、フレーバーズ・バフェッ（ハラーズ）、カーニバル・ワールド・バフェ(リオ・スイーツ）、レ・ビレッジ・バフェ（パリス）、スパイス・マーケット・バフェ（プラネット・ハリウッド）、エンペラーズ・バフェ（インペリアル・パレス）で使えます。$15追加料金を払えば、ビレッジ・シーフード・バフェ（リオ・スイーツ）でも使えます。

Their Desserts are great. Newly constructed, and nice interior. Water runs through on the wall.

同じ土曜夜、リオ・スイーツのカーニバル・ワールド・バフェに行きました。ここはアジア料理とジェラトが充実。週末は30分から1時間並びます。

On the same Saturday, we went to "Carnival World Buffet" at Rio Suites. They have great Asian food selections and Italian Gelato. Expect to wait 30 to 60 minutes on weekends.

すごい行列でしたが、20分ぐらいでキャッシャーでした。連れがスロットをしに消えたので戻るまで、しばらく待ちました。

The line was very long, but with 20 minute wait, it was about time to proceed at the cashier. My girl friend dissappeared to play slot machines at the casino, so I had to wait for a while until she returned.

日曜の朝は、パリス・ホテルの「レ・ビレッジ・バフェ」にてシャンペーンブランチ。24時間パスが有効な時間11時40分より大分余裕を持って、朝9時15から並びました。9時50分頃テーブルに着きました。土・日は10時まで朝食で10時からシャンペン・ブランチです。

On Sunday, we went to "Le Village Buffet" at Paris Hotel. Our All day Passes for 24 hours were valid until 11:40 am. We lined up at the line from 9:15 am and got to the table around 9:50 am. On Saturday and Sunday, Breakfast is served until 10 am, and Champagne Brunch is served from 10 am.

You can get "Order-made Crepes". Vast varieties of Desserts are great. Seasoning is bit salty.

いやーこんなにバフェ三昧だったのは初めてです。24時間以内にもっとまわってどういう感じか試したかったのですが、週末は行列が長くて、待ちくたびれます。平日で空いてる時がいいかも。。。

This was my first time enjoying several Buffets at the same time. We wanted to try more Buffets within 24 hours. The lines are long on weekend, and we got tired waiting. It's better to go on weekdays and when they are slow.

ラスベガスのラーメン屋『モンタ・ヌードル・ハウス』を初訪問。去年11月末でした。ラスベガス・ストリップから少し西側、チャイナタウンと呼ばれる地域にあります。週7日ランチタイムから夜11時まで営業。

"Monta Noodle House@Las Vegas": is located in China Town district, Las Vegas, NV, little west from Las Vegas main strip. I visited there to have Ramen noodle at end of November, 2010. It's open 7 days a week from lunch time to 11 pm.

とんこつ、醤油、味噌ラーメン、餃子、チャーハンなどあります。替え玉は$1.50でした。

They have Tonkotsu, Shoyu, and Miso Ramen Noodles, Gyoza Pork Dumplings, Fried Rice, etc. Kaedama Extra Noodle is $1.50.

Shoyu Ramen
スープはあっさり系。麺はまっすぐで細い。
Soup is light and refreshing. Noodle is fine and straight.

美味しいとんこつラーメンですが、最初に何となく油の香りが気になりました。慣れると病みつきになるかも。。
It's a good tasting Tonkotsu (Pork Ramen), but the unfamiliar flavor of the oil came to the nose at first. I might get addicted after getting used to the oil.

餃子　$5.15
Gyoza Pork Dumpling
熱々でした。外側がバリっと焼け、中がジューシー。これも最初慣れない油の香りがちょっと気になりました。。。
どういう油を使ってるのか、次に行った時にきいてみたいです。

It's sizzling hot. It was crispy outside and juicy inside. The flavor of unfamiliar oil came to my nose at first a little bit. I want to ask what kind of oil they use next time I visit.

土曜日昼11時半ごろ到着。その時は半分以上空席でしたが、12時20分過ぎると満席になり、行列がありました。
テーブルは4人座りが4つ、2人座りが１つで、カウンターに10名座れました。定員28名ぐらい。。。

We got there around 11:30 am on Saturday and it was a half empty. After 12:20 pm, it became full and there were lines. There were 4 tables for 4 and 1 table for 1, 10 chairs at the counter section. So, the total capacity was around 28 people.

お店の外まわりはこんな感じです。『ソウル・プラザ』内中央奥にあります。

ラスベガスの『SUSHI MON』に2度訪問。1度は今年4月19日月曜、2度目は11月27日土曜日のディナーでした。$29前後の鮨食べ放題がお得です。

"SUSHI MON"@Las Vegas: We went there twice, first time on Monday, Apr.19, 2010, and the second time on Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010. Their All-You-Can-Eat Sushi at around $29 is a great deal.

１つ１つ出される寿司に丁寧な仕事がしてあって気に入りました。
We liked Sushi Mon's Sushi, because they showed some detailed care and skills on each Sushi piece they served.

この値段でこれだけ美味しいお鮨が食べられ、満足でした。

They are included in "All-You-Can-Eat-Sushi" Menu. They also have Green Tea Ice Cream.
We were so happy to eat this much of good Sushi at that price.

レッドロックキャニオンに11月26日感謝祭翌日初訪問。ラスベガスストリップから下の道を車で北西に45分の距離にあり、1時間でまわれるシーニックドライブがあります。ハイキングやロッククライミングスポットも多数あり、穴場観光スポットです。

"Red Rock Canyon": I visited there on Nov. 26, 2010, a day after Thanksgiving Day for the first time. It's located about 45 minute driving distance from the Las Vegas strip on the surface streets. There are a Scenic Drive that you can drive around and view in one hour, several hiking trails, and rock-climbing spots. It's a great sightseeing spot that many people are not aware of.

ラスベガスからの行き方は、『ラスベガス大全』を参考にしました。

　ストリップ大通りを北に進む。ストラトスフィアタワー （白い塔。ラスベガスで最も高い建造物） をすぎたら、さらに約2km先にある Charleston という道路で左折 （西）。
　あとはひたすら西へ約18km走ると左手にレッドロックというカジノホテル （約20階建てのビル） が見えるので、それをそのまま通りすぎ、さらに8kmほど走った地点で右手に注意。"BLM Visitor Center、 Scenic Drive" と書かれた案内標識が（左に）見えてくる。その標識の直後を右折。すぐ料金所があり（車1台$7）、その先がビジターセンターとシーニックドライブになっている。ホテルの位置にもよるが、ストリップ地区からの所要時間は渋滞がなければ約45分。

Direction from Las Vegas Strip:
Go North on Las Vegas Blvd. and pass Strasphere Tower (white and tallest building in Las Vegas). Go another 2 km (1.25 mile) and turn Left on Charleston.

Keep going West on Charleston for 18 km (11.25 Miles) and you will see "Red Rock Casino Hotel", 20 story building, on the left. Keep going for another 8 km (5 miles). There is a sign "BLM Visitor Center、 Scenic Drive" on the left. Turn Right near the sign, and you will find a gate to pay the entrance fee. There are a Visitor Center and a scenic drive beyond. It's about 45 minutes from Las Vegas strip. The scenic drive is about 1 hour. The fee was $7 per car.

その"Scenic Drive"　入り口の看板が分からず30分以上西に走りガスステーションで道をきいて戻りました。上のサボテンありの岩山の光景は迷ってる時に車から降りて撮影したものです。

We did not notice the "Scenic Drive" sign and drove West for 30 minutes. There was a gas station, so we got a direction from the cashier lady, turned around and drove back. The above photo with cactus was taken while we were lost.

"Scenic Drive"に入ってすぐ右側に赤い岩の絶景が広がります。たくさんの車が停まってます。そこが一番の絶景ポイントだそう。地図上、たぶん2番目の"Calico Hills".　ロッククライミングしてる一行もいました。

After entering the "Scenic Drive", you will see the Red Rock spectacular views on the right, and many cars are parked there. That is the best view point. On the map, it's probablly, "Calico Hills", the 2nd trail spot. There were some groups enjoying rock-climbing there, too.

リオ・スイーツ・ホテル・カジノの『ショーインザスカイ』。無料で毎時間行われていました。ビレッジ・シーフード・バフェの行列に２時間半並ぶ間6時、7時、8時のを見て、食べ終わってから10時のショーを見ました。(前記事はこちらです)

"Show in the Sky", a free show, is performed hourly at Rio All Suite Hotel & Casino . We watched the show at 6 pm, 7 pm, and 8 pm while waiting in the long line for the seafood buffet and at 10 pm after having the dinner. (See the previous blog here.)

１人当たり$12.95でショー中フロートに乗る事も可能です。ボックスオフィスで購入要。ココをクリック下さい。

このショーが終わると毎回、海鮮バフェ前のバーで、バーテンダーのジャグリング・ショーをしてました。こちらも無料です。海鮮バフェの真上は、男性ストリップ劇場です。帰り道、外で写真だけ撮影してきました。

After each show, the bartenders performed juggling shows at the bar in front of the "Village Seafood Buffet". It was free as well. There is "Chippendale's" theater above the seafood buffet restaurant. I took photos outside of it later.

リオ・スイーツ・ホテル・カジノの『ビレッジ・シーフード・バフェ』。今年の感謝祭ディナーはここにしました。毎日ディナーのみ営業。料金は大人１人39.95ドル、子供25.95ドルに消費税が付きます。祭日なのでクーポンは使えませんでした。

Village Seafood Buffet: serves varieties of seafood. It's located in Rio All Suite Hotel & Casino . They are open daily for dinner.　The buffet price is $39.95 plus tax for adult and $25.95 plus tax for child when we visited on Nov. 25, 2010. We enjoyed the Thanksgiving Day dinner there. They did not accept coupons, because it was a holiday.

週末は1時間を越える行列。11月25日は感謝祭ホリデー4連休初日。午後6時過ぎから8時半まで2時間半並びました。電光掲示板未使用。午後9時半で入場締切でした。

On Weekends, the line is long, over 1 hour wait. 11/25/2010 was the first day of Thanksgiving 4-day weekend. We lined up from little after 6 pm to 8:30 pm--2.5 hours. They did not use the neon board to indicate numbers and the cut-off to enter was 9:30 pm.

お肉類もいろいろあります。

There are varieties of Meat Items, too.

お目当ての七面鳥の焼きたてやローストチキンが出ました。

They served freshly cooked Turkey, Roast Chicken, etc.

一皿目。ターキー、海老、ムール貝をいただきました。
First Plate. I had Turkey, Shrimp, and Mussels.

感謝祭なので、食べ物に感謝しながらいただきました。

It was Thanksgiving Day, so I enjoyed the dinner while giving my gratitudes to foods.

二皿目。スノークラブ足、生牡蠣、ムール貝を堪能。

Second Plate: I had Snow Crab Legs, Fresh Oysters, and Mussels.

３皿目。お寿司、お刺身、生牡蠣など。

Third Plate. Sushi, Sashimi, Fresh Oysters, etc.





４皿目。デザート。ケーキ各種、ティラミスアイス、マンゴーアイス。。

Fourth Plate. Desserts. Several kinds of cakes, Tiramisu Ice Cream, and Mango Ice Cream.






同日朝8時18分レドンドビーチの自宅を出発し、友人2人を途中乗せて片道310マイル(496 km)運転し、ラスベガスのイインペリアル・ホテルに午後3時ごろ到着。休憩を抜けると6時間半かかりました。

I left my house in Redondo Beach at 8:18 am and picked up two friends at different locations and drove 310 miles (496 km) and arrived at Imperial Palace Hotel in Las Vegas around 3 pm. It took more than 6.5 hours.

当日午後3時開場だったらしいです。もっと早く来て並び、交代でスロットマシーンで遊ぶべきでした。
それか1人当たり$10余分に払い、エクスプレス・レーンに並ぶべきでした。

The Village Seafood Buffet was open from 3 pm that day. We should have come and lined up at the restaurant earlier. We could have taken turns to play at the slot machines while waiting in line. Or we should have paid $10 each more and lined up at the "Express Lane".

先月デービッド・キャシディーのラスベガスコンサートの後『バティスタ』を再訪しました。ここはラスベガスで一番古い老舗イタリアンレストラン。パスタ専門でピザはありません。

"Battista's Hole in the Wall Restaurant": We went there for a dinner after David Cassidy's Las Vegas concert on July 10, 2010. This is the oldest Italian restaurant near the main strip in Las Vegas. They have Pasta but no Pizza.

特大メニューが壁に張られてます。テーブル用メニューも渡してくれます。赤か白ワイン飲み放題、ガーリックパン、イタリアンサラダかミネストローネスープ、自家製カプチーノ付きパスタディナーです。
お値段はセットで$20.95～ $37.95です。６番のシーフードフェタチーニ($22.95)にしました。

A super large menus are on the wall. They also give you a table size menu. It's a complete dinner set with complementary all you can drink Red or White House Wine, Garlic Bread, Italian Salad or Minestrone Soup, a Pasta Entree, and a Homemade Cappuccino. The price range is $20.95 to $37.95. Both of us had #6 Fettucine Seafood Sauce ($22.95).

赤ワイン（イタリア製キャンティー）を小4杯ぐらい飲み、パスタを堪能した後は、自家製カプチーノでリラックス。甘いホットチョコレート風です。
After enjoying the Pasta and four small glasses of Red (Italian Chianti) Wine, this homemade Cappuccino is great. It's sweet like Hot Chocolate.

Established in 1970. It's been in operation for 40 years behind Flamingo Hotel and Imperial Palace Casino Hotel, and next to a liquor store. Open daily for dinner. It was open until 11 pm on Saturday. It was my first visit in five years. Their Pastas are tasty. The price is very good for a dinner set starting from $21, and it includes drinks.

7月9日ラスベガスでショー『"KA"カー(火)』を観ました。前から2列目右端の席が半額で最高でした！シルク・ド・ソレイユのMGMグランドカジノホテル常設ショーです。手数料込みで1枚＄65でした。

"KA" by Cirque du Soleil": We saw "KA" at MGM Grand Hotel Casino in Las Vegas on July 9, 2010. Our seats were a half price in the second row from the stage and at very right. It was great! With the fees, it was $65 per person.

ストーリー展開の傑作。"KA(火）”はアクロバティックな演技、世界中の格闘技のスリルとアクション、新手法の着ぐるみとマルチメディアを使用し、双子の運命を賭けた危険な旅を語る。シルクドソレイユの「"KA" カー」はシネマのビジュアル言語を眩しいライブイベント化し、これまでのどのシルクドソレイユの公演より物語以上の演出です。


A masterpiece in storytelling, KÀ uses acrobatic performances, the thrills and action of martial arts techniques from all over the world, plus innovations in puppetry and multimedia to tell the epic tale of twins on a perilous journey to fulfill their shared destiny. ステージは180度のパノラマ半円形。前から4列目右端でした。右側と左側前は1列2列目は安全性のため空席にされてたので、実質前から2番目でしょうか。。。。 炎の熱さ、人工降雪機の雪の冷たさ、舞台から続く花道が右側と左側にあり、出演者がすぐそばを通ります。出演者の顔の汗まで見えます。すっごくいい席でした。。。

The stage is 180 degree panorama half circle shape. Our seats were in the 4th row from the stage at the right end. The first two rows in the right and left sections were left blank for safety reasons, so we were actually the second row from the stage.... We could feel the heat of the fire and chilliness of the snows from snow blowers. There were pathways to the stage on the right side and the left side, so we could see the performers right there when they were walking on the right pathway. We could even see sweats on the performers faces. They were great seats!

4年半前観た時は中央列の後ろの方で出演者が小さく見えイマイチでしたが、今回はステージに近く良かったです。

I saw it 4 and a half years ago in the central section at back, and I could not see the performers very tiny and I was not impressed much. This time the stage was just near by and it was great!

先月ラスベガスで見つけたお得で美味しいディナー。タスカニーカジノ内『マリリンズ・カフェ』の日替わりスペシャルです。金曜日の夜に行ったら、『スノークラブの食べ放題』でした。

"Daily Special Dinner at Tuscanny Casino"; Last month, we discovered a great dinner special in Las Vegas. For Friday, they have unlimited refils of "Snow Crab Legs".

バフェとは違い、自分でとるのではなく、サーバーに注文します。他の一般カフェメニューもありますが、日替わり食べ放題スペシャルがお得です。サイドは２種類選べ、これはお替りなしでした。

12月14日雪の『ザイオン国立公園』にハイキングに行きました。ザイオンは初めてでした。ユタ州南部にあります。ラスベガス滞在中に車で行きました。ラスベガスから片道３時間弱です。

"Zion National Park": We went there for the first time for hiking on Dec. 14, 2009 while we were staying at Las Vegas. It was less than 3 hours from Las Vegas by car.

ラスベガスからはＩ-15番フリーウエイを北上し、セイント・ジョージを通りUS-89番でスプリングデールに向かいます。４月から10月は車で入れないのでここでシャトルバスに乗り換えるそう。
11月から３月までは、直接車でザイオン国立公園に入れます。入場料は１回普通自動車１台につき$25 (７日間有効 )。年間パスが50ドルだそう。全米の国立公園の年間パスが80ドルだそう。62才以上のシニアは年間パス$10で全米の国立公園に入れるらしい。年間パスは大人4人までカバーする。
From Las Vegas, we took I-15 North and drove though St George and changed to US-89 and drove to Springdale, UT. From April through October, you cannot enter with your car, so you need to get onto a shuttle bus here. From November though March, you can enter Zion National Park with your own car with $25 admission (good for 7 days) per regular car. The annual Zion Park pass is $50. The annual National Park Pass good for all National Parks in USA costs $80. It will be $10 for Senior, 62 and up. It admits the pass holder + 3 adults.

12月11日（金）からカリフォルニア州、ネバダ州、ザイオンでは大雨や雪でした。12月13日（日）のラスベガスやザイオンの天気予報は1日雨でしたが、朝10時には雨が止み、ずっと快晴でした。青空がきれいです。

It rained and snowed heavily from Friday, Dec. 11, 2009 to Dec.13, 2009 in California, Nevada, and Zion. The weather forecast for Dec. 13, 2009 for Las Vegas and Zion was rain or snow all day, but the rain cleared around 10 am. It had been sunny since then. The blue sky is beautiful.
雪の残るハイキングトレイルは滑り易く危ないので、一番平坦で簡単な「リバーサイドウオーク」にしました。
Hiking on the snow covered trail could be slippery and dangerous, so we hiked the easiest and flat trail, "Riverside Walk".

リバーサイドウオーク：
簡単。舗装されたハイキングトレイルは狭い渓谷の底をバージン川沿いを歩く。沿道の展示は氷片落下のため冬の間閉鎖。

Riverside Walk:
Easy Minor drop-offs. Paved trail follows Virgin River along bottom of narrow canyon. Trailside exhibits. May be closed because of falling ice.

雪道を歩くなんて何年ぶりでしょう。。。4－5年ぶり？

It's been 4 to 5 years since I walked on snow covered pavements the last time.

We came across with Mull Deer family. They were looking for food in the snow covered mountain.



ハイキングトレイルはあとちょっとのところで積雪と雪崩れのため閉鎖されてました。

Towards the end of the trail, it was closed due to snow and Avalanche.

ラスベガスの大規模再開発『シティーセンター』が一部完成オープンしました。12月13日と14日写真撮ってきました。ベラージオホテルとモンテカルロホテルの間の広大な土地に建設中。総工費は約8000億円。

"CityCenter" construction has been in progress for several years, and it's partially completed and opened a few weeks ago. I took photos on Dec. 13 and 14, 2009. It began with a total cost of 7 billion dollars in 2004. But now 9 billion dollars with increased construction and material cost.

12月3日、大型複合施設「シティーセンター」 内に超高級ショッピングモール 「クリスタルズ」 がオープンした。
　シティーセンターは、ラスベガスに数多くのカジノホテルを所有する MGM Mirage 社とドバイの政府系企業も出資している。民間企業によるプロジェクトとしては全米史上最大。

On Dec. 3, 2009, "Crystals", a 500,000-square-foot retail and entertainment district. opened. "CityCenter Las Vegas" is the largest commercial project in US history. The sponsors are MGM Mirage Corp and Dubai World Company.

内装のデザインも斬新で素敵。

The interior design is contemporary and nice.

12月16日深夜「シティーセンター」内に高級カジノホテル 「アリア」(客室数4004) が、打ち上げ花火と共に華々しくオープンしたらしい。目玉の施設だけに、今後の展開が期待される。

On Dec.16, 2009 midnight, "Aria" (Casino Hotel having 4004 rooms) opened inside "CityCenter" with fireworks. This is the main of that project. The future depends on how "Aria" will be successful.

ベラージオ・カジノ・ホテルの温室（植物園）を12月13日に訪れた時の写真です。この温室は週7日24時間無料。今年は12月5日からこの「冬」展示だそう。とてもクリスマスらしい飾り付けでした。

Bellagio Casino Hotel Conservatory:displays beautiful garden by season or holiday occasion. These are photos from my visit on 12/13/2009. This conservatory is open 24 hours/7 days a week, and it's free to get in. This year they have this "Winter" exhibit from Dec.5, 2009. It was great Christmas decorations.

パリスホテル内『レ・ビレッジ・バフェ』でブランチしました。12月13日アウトレットで買い物したあとです。到着したのは午後2時20分ごろ。土日の11時から3時半はシャンパンブランチで1人$24.99です。ラスベガスでパリ気分を味わえます。

"Le Village Buffet"@Paris: We had a champagne brunch there after shopping at the outlet from around 2:20 pm on Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009. They serve Champagne Brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 11 to 3:30 pm at $24.99 per person. You can enjoy being in Paris while you are in Las Vegas.

サーバーがなかなか来ません。次に来た客が文句を言ってから10分後やっときました。シャンパンも水もそれまでお預けです。

No server came to our table. The next group of customers who were seated next to our table complained to the front. 10 minutes later, a waitress came. We had to wait for champagne, water, etc. until then.

シャンパンブランチの目玉は生の蟹と海老の食べ放題。さっそくたくさん取ってきました。

The top end items during the Champagne brunch are fresh Crabs and Shrimps. I took lots of them first.



店内はパリの街角風です。フランスの地域ごとに料理が分類され並びます。

It looks like streets in Parks inside. The dishes are classified according to the region in France.

ローストビーフ、ターキー（七面鳥）などもあり、シェフが切ってくれます。

There are Roasted Beef, Turkey, etc., and a chef will slice them for you.



グリル野菜のオリーブオイル漬け。右はポーチドエッグ。

デザートは前行った時より少なめでした。3時ごろだったのでちょうどなかったのかも。。。

There were not many varieties of desserts compared to the last time. Maybe because it was around 3 pm, and changing the shift.

I had Creme Berle, Fran, Soft Serve (Self-service), etc.

クレープバーでお好みのクレープを作ってもらいました。おまけに動画を添付します。

I got a crepe made at the custom crepe bar. I will attach a video clip from that time as a bonus video below. This is Blueberries and Apple Crepe.

12月12日土曜日同じハラーズ系のインペリアルパレスホテルに$45で泊まりました。その時「レ・ビレッジ・バフェ」の1人＄５割引クーポンもらったのでそれを利用しました。リオのカーニバルファの1人＄５割引クーポンもありましたが、パリスのバフェは3年以上食べてなかったので。。。

On Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009, we stayed one night at Imperial Palace Hotel, the same Harrah's group hotel at $45 a night. During the check-in, I got all kinds of coupons, including $5 off for "Le Village Buffet" at Paris and "Carnival World Buffet" at Rio. We chose "Le Village Buffet" because we had not been there for more than 3 years.

『ラスベガス・アウトレットセンター』でチョコレート見学のあとショッピングしました。12月13日の昼過ぎです。

"Las Vegas Outlet Center": we did some shopping after visiting a chocolate factory on Dec.13, 2009.

ラスベガス大通南側にあり、市内沿線バスでも行けます。クリスマス前で混んでました。



It's located south of Las Vegas Blvd, and you can go there by taking a local bus. It was crowded for Christmas shopping.

新車が当たる抽選会が行われていました。サンタさんとの写真会も行われてました。

There was a drawing to for a chance to win a brand new car. There was a "Picture with Santa" spot as well.



グレッグ・ノーマンの店ではいつも格安のいいゴルフウエアーが見つかります。リーボックも安いこと多いです。

I often find good deals at "Greg Norman" golf wear shop. Reebok often offers good deals, too.

ナイキはスニーカー靴が安い。エアーナイキのラニングシューズを$29.99でゲット。掘り出し物でした。

Nike has discounted sneakers. I got "Air Nike Running Shoes" at $29.99 a pair.

USポロ店では、セーター、マフラー、帽子のセットが$21.99。これもお買い特でした。
これは後でよく見るとジュニア（ティーン）用でした。

I found a set of a sweater, a cap, and a muffler (scarf) at $21.99 at "U.S. Polo Assn" shop. They were great buys. Later I found out they were for "Junior".

12月13日と15日『エッセルＭチョコレート』工場に隣接するサボテン園を見学しました。クリスマス飾りが11月18日から1月1日まであります。

"Ethel M Chocolate Cactus Garden Tour" is available 7 days a week for free, and it has Christmas "Chocolate Wonderland" decoration during the holiday season. It's from Nov.18th to January 1, 2010 this year.




ライトに灯りが点くのは午後5時から。快晴の下サボテン園でクリスマス飾りを見るのもオツです。




The lights will be on from 5 pm to 10 pm daily. It's unique to see Christmas decorations under the bright sun.


16th Annual Chocolate Wonderland:
This year, ethel's celebrates it's 16th Annual Chocolate Wonderland from Wednesday, November 18, 2009, through Friday, January 1, 2010. During this special time of year, visitors can take a self guided factory tour and stroll down the ethel's Cactus Garden's illuminated cacti pathways featuring half a million lights to enjoy the sights, smells and sounds of a Chocolate Wonderland from 5pm to 10pm, seven days a week, except on Christmas day.

Throughout the season, local choirs will perform holiday favorites in the garden, and Santa will make appearances from 5pm - 9pm on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings through December 20. Santa will also appear Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of Christmas week from 5pm - 9pm.
All events and tours at the Chocolate Wonderland are free to the public, and all ages are welcome.

第16回毎年恒例チョコレートワンダーランド
今年の「エッセルズ・チョコレートワンダーランド」は11月18日から2010年1月1日まで開催。サボテン園のクリスマスイルミネーション、飾りやチョコレートの香りをセルフガイドツアーを午後5時から10時まで毎日楽しんでください。クリスマス当日（12月25日）のみ閉園します。

ローカル合唱団が中でクリスマスキャロルの演奏をします。また金、土、日夕方にはサンタが訪問します。12月21日以降12月23日までは毎夕サンタが現れます。
これらすべてのイベントは無料。参加年齢に制限なく皆さんウエルカム。

チョコレート工場からチョコレートの香りも漂うし、クリスマス飾りはあるし、無料なのになかなか楽しめます。規模はそれほど広くないので、時間もかかりません。お勧めです。

Chocolates aroma are indulging and Christmas lighting and displays are there throughout the Cactus garden. It's free and enjoyable. The garden is not too huge, so it will not take that long to stroll. It's highly recommended.

12月13日と15日『エッセルＭチョコレート』工場見学しました。ラスベガス郊外に工場があります。工場見学は毎日無料でできますが、稼動しているのは平日のみ。それで15日（火）も立ち寄りました。

"Ethel M Chocolate Factory Tour" is available 7 days a week for free, but it's in operation on weekdays only. We visited on Sunday, Dec. 13, and Tuesday, Dec.15, 2009.

『エッセルＭ』はミルキーウエイ、スニッカーズ、マスケティアーズ、トウイックス、ＭアンドＭ、スキットルズ、スターバストなどを出している会社の高級チョコレート版です。創設者マーズ氏のご夫人の名前。

"Ethel M" is a high-end brand chocolate of Mars company that manufactures Milkyway, Snickers, Musketeers, Twix, M & M, Skittles, and Starbursts. The name comes from Mrs. Ethel Mars, the wife of the founder.

工場はオートメーション化されてます。今年5月にもこの工場見学に行きました。ちょうど機会を総入れ替え中で工場は1週間ほどお休み中でした。

The factory is run mostly by machines. I visited this factory last May as well, but it was closed for a week for changing all the machines to new ones.

チョコレートの液体が容器に入り、長い冷却機を通り固められ、箱づめされます。

その過程を動画に撮りました。下に添付します。

Chocolate liquid is cooled down through a long cooling machine, and they are boxed.

I took a video clip of that process. It's attached below.

工場見学が終わると、サンプルのチョコレートをくれます。そして小売店でいろいろなチョコが買えます。
After a factory tour, you get to taste some sample chocolates. Then, you can buy all kinds of chocolates at the store.


左は「カクテル」チョコ。それぞれカクテルが入り、きれいな絵が描かれています。4個入り$7.50、12個入り$18、24個入り$34。

The left is "Cocktail" chocolate. Cocktail is mixed in each chocolate and beautiful paintings are done on the top of chocolates. Sold at $7.50 for 4 pcs, $18 for 12 pcs, and $34 for 24 pcs.

ドライフルーツを混ぜたチョコやキャラメル入りのチョコなどいろいろ。。。値段はカクテルと同じ。。。

There are chocolates mixed with dry fruits, caramels, etc., many kinds. The pricing is the same as Cocktail chocolates.

ラスベガスに来てます。『踊るサンタ・ショー』を無料で行っています。12/12/09に見ました。ファッション ショーモールにて12月11日から24日までの期間限定。ただし12月17日(木)はショーはお休み。
時間は12PM、2PM、4PM、6PMから。写真を数枚アップします。

"Dancing Santa": At Fashion Show Mall on Las Vegas Blvd in Las Vegas, NV, you can see "dancing Santa" during holiday season for free, between Dec. 11 and Dec. 24, 2009 from 12 PM, 2PM, 4PM, and 6 PM. I saw the 6 pm show on Saturday, Dec.12, 2009. There will be no show on Dec.17, 2009. The show's beginning and ending changed compared to 2 years ago.

ショーの始まりと終わりは2年前と比べ違いました。動画撮影は禁止。撮影中に注意されました。

Recording Video is prohibited. I was told not to do that during taking a movie on my digital camera. Still photography is permitted.




今回は少女登場。ラスベガスまでサンタが来てくれるか心配するシーンから。。。

This time a girl appears, wondering a Santa would come to Las Vegas from North Pole.

15分ぐらいのショーです。始まる7分前には場所取りをしましょう。

The show lasts about 15 minutes. Prepare to wait and get a space 7 minutes prior to the show.

このモールには６つのデーパート、250の専門店が入ってます。なかでもビクトリア･シークレットの店舗は大きく、品揃えが豊富です。
If you happen to visit Las Vegas by Dec. 24, 2009, this free show is recommended. In the mall, there are 6 department stores and more than 250 specialty shops. Especially,"Victoria's Secret" has a large space, having varieties of products.

ラスベガスの大規模再開発『シティーセンター』。モンテカルロとべラージオの間にあった商店や駐車場を買収し67エーカーをさら地にし、進められている一大建設プロジェクト。行く度に建設が進んでます。

"CityCenter Las Vegas" construction has been in progress for some years. Every time I visit, I see some progress. They purchased the space between Monte Carlo and Bellagio and demolished stores located in that space. They are constructing several buildings. It is a huge redevelopment project in Las Vegas.
2004年から着想・設計され、2006年着工。総工費は当初70億ドル。現在は、建設費と材料費などの高騰などで90億ドル前後。日本円で一兆円。民間企業のプロジェクトとしては米国史上最大だそう。

スポンサーの民間企業は、MGMグランド、ベラージオ、マンダレイベイなどラスベガスにカジノホテルを９つ持つ MGM Mirage 社と、ドバイの政府系企業 Dubai World 社。


CityCenter commenced in 2004 as a blank canvas 67 acres in size, imagined by a diverse group. It is the largest commercial project in US history. It began with a total cost of 7 billion dollars in 2004. But now 9 billion dollars with increased construction and material cost.

The sponsors are MGM Mirage Corp who has 9 casino hotels in Las Vegas and Dubai World Company.


施設は61階立て4004室を誇るカジノホテル 「アリア」。開業予定日は2009年12月16日。ホテルとコンドミニウムの複合型 「ヴィダラ」、「ヴィーア・タワーズ」、「マンダリン・オリエンタル」。404室のブティック・ホテル「ハーモン」。「ヴィダラ」は全室スイートまたはスパルーム仕様になるらしい。他に「ファイン・アート・コレクション」、商業リテイル空間「クリスタルズ」など。ホテルやコンベンションの受付、コンドミニウムの販売はすでに始まっています。


CityCenter will feature ARIA, a soaring 61-story, 4,004-room gaming resort (opening on 12/16/09); non-gaming luxury hotels including Vdara Hotel and Las Vegas’ first Mandarin Oriental; Veer Towers, the development’s only strictly residential buildings; a Fine Art Collection; and Crystals, a 500,000-square-foot retail and entertainment district. Vdara, Mandarin Oriental and Veer Towers will include approximately 2,400 residences total. Additionally, The Harmon, a luxury 400-room boutique hotel, is slated to open at CityCenter in late 2010. The reservations for hotel rooms and conventions and sales for residences are already being accepted.


マスタープラン構築は、ニューヨークのエーレン・クランツ、エクスタット＆クーン（ＥＥＫ）建築事務所。密度の高い面白い空間と経験、公共交通と環境への配慮が施されている。

A master plan was developed by New York’s Ehrenkrantz, Eckstut and Kuhn (EEK ) Architects for a high-density destination with interesting places and experiences, smooth public circulation and regard for its surroundings.


「ヴィーア・タワーズ」はシカゴを拠点にする建築家ヘルムット・ジャーンが選ばれた。彼の代表作には、ブラッセル所在のＥＵ本部ビル、ミュンヘン所在のケムピンスキーホテル、ベルリンにあるソニーセンターなどがある。

For Veer Towers, Chicago-based architect Helmut Jahn, was a natural choice. Jahn's signature projects include the headquarters of the European Union in Brussels, Munich's Kempinski Hotel and Sony Center Berlin.　


「ヴィダラ」コンドミニウム・ホテルには、ＲＶ建築事務所が選ばれた。代表建築家はラファエル・ヴィノーリ。周りのカジノホテルと調和したデザインが見込まれたため。ヴィノーリ氏の代表作には、クリーブランド美術館、ジャズ・アト・リンカーンセンター、ウルグアイにあるキャラスコ国際空港などがある。

For Vdara Condo Hotel, MGM MIRAGE felt RV Architecture, LLC, led by principal Rafael Viñoly, was ideally suited to design a building that would complement the nearby resort casino properties. Viñoly also designed the Cleveland Museum of Art, Jazz at Lincoln Center and the Carrasco International Airport in Montevideo, Uruguay.


7月13日『シティーセンター』ま迎え、「ティックス・フォー・ツナイト」割引券ショップの前。この辺から写真撮影しました。『トウダイ寿司バフェ』の割引券をそのショップで売ってましたが、手数料を払うと一人3ドルほどの割引でした。他のバフェやレストランの割引券もありました。

July 13, 2009, in front of "TIX 4 Tonight" discount ticket shop. "CityCenter Las Vegas" is located across the street. I took photos from around here. The discount ticket shop was selling discounted tickets for "Todai Sushi Buffet". If you deduct the fees, it was about $3 discount per person. They had discount tickets for other buffet and restaurants.

7月14日の夕飯は、『バカ・ディ・ベッポ』ラスベガス店からピザとサラダをテイクアウトし、パラッゾ（ベニシアンの新館）の豪華スイートルームで食べました。また同カジノホテルから2泊から4泊の無料宿泊招待、「オペラ座の怪人」ミュージカルチケット2枚、$25のカジノクレジットをもらい、7月12日から15日まで３泊しました。$10クーポンを利用。$20以上買うと$10割引。$15.50と＄１のチップで済みました。

On 7/14/2009,we took out a Pizza and a Salad for dinner from "Buca di Beppo"@Las Vegas by using "$10 Off" coupon. We ate it at a luxury suite room at Palazzo (a new addition of Venetian) casino hotel. I received a 2 to 4 night compimentary suite room, 2 tickets to "The Phantom" musical, and $25 gamble credit from the hotel again. We stayed for 3 nights from 7/12/09 to 7/15/09. The coupon was for $10 off for $20 or more purchase. We paid $15.50 plus $1 tip. It was a great deal.

ベニシアンの新館として2008年1月末オープン。ベニシアンと同じく全室スイートルーム。

It opened in end of January 2008 as an addition to Venetian hotel. All rooms are suite rooms just like Venetian Las Vegas hotel.



9階の部屋でした。同ホテルに無料宿泊したのは今回で7回目。今までで1番小さな部屋でした。タダなので文句言えません。

The room was on the 9th floor. It was my 7th time to stay at the hotel for free as a complimentary. It was the smallest room so far. I cannot complain because it was free.



お持ち帰りできる白いスリッパが常備されてなかったので、ルーム係に尋ねると、レギュラースイートルームに常備するのを辞めたそう。経費削減でしょう。1泊108ドル増しでアップグレードするとあるかも。。。

There were no white slippers. I asked a room keeper, and she said, "No more slippers." They stopped offering slippers in regular suite rooms to reduce cost. You might find the slippers (that can be taken home) in an upgraded Deluxe suite rooms with $108 per night upgrade fee.



白いバスローブは2着ありました。これは持ち帰ると$80請求されます。

2 white Bathrobes were there in the bathroom. They will charge $80 per bathrobe if you take it home.



奥に事務デスク、プリター、ダイニングテーブル、テーブル、Ｌ字ソファ、フラットスクリーンTV、冷蔵庫、金庫などがあります。カーテンやブライドはリモコンで操作します。

There is a desk, a printer, a dining table, a table, L-shaped sofas, a flat screen TV, a refrigerator, a safe, etc. in the back. Curtains and blinds are operated with a remote control.



カーテンとブラインドを開けると隣のウイン・カジノ・ホテルと新館アンコアが見えます。

As we opened the curtains and blinds, we saw Wynn casino hotel and its addition, Encore casino hotel.


今回もミュージカル「オベラザの怪人」を無料で前から5番目中央付近から見ました。今回で6回目でしたが、良かったです。1枚$160相当のチケット2枚が無料でした。

7月は並行して、「ブルーマングループ」ショーのチケット2枚付きの無料宿泊招待も受け取りました。このショーは好きな人は何度も見るそうですが、私は1度見たらもういいや、の口でした。

I saw "The Phantom" musical again this time. Our seats were 5th row around the center. It was the 6th time for me to watch the musical. It was great as usual. I got 2 tickets at $160 each for free.

In July at the same time, I received a complimentary invitation with 2 tickets for "Blue Man Group" show with $50 gamble credit as well. People who likes the show keep watching it. I saw it once, and it was enough for me.

７月12日午前9時20分にレドンドビーチを出てモハビ砂漠を300マイル(500キロ)運転。午後2時１５分ごろラスベガスに到着。高速の降り口を間違えうろつきましたが、『マッド・グリーク・カフェ』で遅めのランチにしました。

July 12, 2009, we left Redondo Beach around 9:20 AM and drove Mojave Desert for 300 miles (500 km). We arrived Las Vegas around 2:15 PM. I mistook the exit of the freeway and lost some time, but we went to "Mad Greek Cafe" for late Lunch.



チキン・シシカバーブ　$9.95
また「２フォー１」のクーポンを利用。2人で同じものを頼んだので半額でした。

炊きたてのご飯が美味しい。チキンはハーブが利いてヨーグルトと胡瓜のソースがあっさりしてます。



Chicken Shish Kabob $9.95
We used "2-for-1" coupon. It was a half price, because both of us ordered the same one.

Freshly steamed Rice was good. Chicken was seasoned well with herbs and it went well and refreshing with Yogurt and Cucumber Sauce.



青と白で統一された店内。
週7日24時間営業。
気温43度（華氏107度）と暑かったので、レモネードを飲みました。

The interior is cordinated with blue and white.
Open 7 days 24 hours.
I had Lemonade because it was so hot outside at 107F (43C) degree.



店の入り口には、「アメリカ一のジャイロ」の垂れ幕が。。。

At the entrance, there is a banner, "Best Gyro in USA."

『マッドグリーク・カフェ』前に高級車がずらーっと並んでます。前々から気になってたので調べたところ、『ドリーム・カー・レンタル』社(リンク）のレンタル用高級車でした。

Several luxury cars lined up in front of "Mad Greek Cafe." I was wondering what they were, so I researched on it. They are luxury cars for rental by "Dream Car Rentals"(Link).



フェラーリ、ベントレー、ランボルギーニ、ポルシェ、バイバー、ジープ、その他様々な高級車が24時間からレンタル可能。

There are some other restaurants and cafes in the same mall, but there is a peculiar restaurant.

近づいてみました。韓国焼肉レストランでした。週7日24時間営業。寿司も出してるそう。。。

We approached the building. It was Korean BBQ Restaurant. Open 7 days 24 hours. It seems they also serve Sushi.

ポルシェは1日269ドルからレンタルできるみたいです。一度乗り回してみたい。。。。
奥の『キムチ韓国焼肉』も機会があれば、一度試してみたいです。
かなり勇気入りますが。。。。

Also I want to try "Kimchi Korean BBQ" in the back if I have a chance...

7月13日『トウダイ寿司バフェ』ラスベガス店でランチしました。友人ＹＷさんのご招待。プラネットハリウッドカジノホテル（旧アラジンホテル）前のミラクルマイルズ・ショップ・モール内にあります。平日ランチは$19.95です。

We went to "Todai Sushi Buffet" Las Vegas location on 7/13/2009 for lunch. My friend YW invited me. It's located in Miracle Miles Shop mall in front of Plannet Hollywood Casino Hotel. It used to be Aladdin Casino Hotel. Weekday lunch is $19.95.

11時30分開店。開店前から行列がありました。薄暗いモールの奥、「ストーム」ショーがある水路近くにあります。

Lunch opens at 11:30 AM. There was a line before opening. It's located in the back of the mall near the creek where "Storm" show is performed.



もうすぐ開店です。。

It's opening soon.



入り口でテーブルに案内されるのを待ちます。

At the entrance, we waited to be seated to a table.



長いバフェ陳列コーナーの手前から握り寿司、巻き寿司コーナー、天ぷら、焼きそば、中華料理、うどん、すき焼き、奥にデザートがあります。取り皿が中央にあるため、巻き寿司から取りました。



Buffet items lined up. They had Nigiri sushi, Rolled Sushi, Tempura, Yakisoba (chow-mein), Chinese food, Udon Noodle soup, Sukiyaki Beef, and Dessert sections from the front to back. The plates were placed in the middle, so we started picking from Rolled Sushi.



飲み物は別料金でした。日本茶を頼みました。＄２でおかわり自由。ティーバッグ入りお茶。
いきなり巻き寿司と握り寿司のテンコ盛り。。。。

Drinks are extra. I ordered Green Tea (in a tea bag). It was refillable at $2.
I loaded my first plate with Rolled Sushi and Nigiri Sushi.



あさりのウシオ汁。薄味で美味しかったです。

They had Steamed Clams with Clam Juice. It was light and good.



あさりのウシオ汁とともに、かぼちゃの天ぷらを味見。。。。

I tried Pumpkin Tempura with Steamed Clam with Clam Juice....



天ぷらはちょっと冷めてましたが、まーまーでした。

Tempura was not hot, but it was so so good.



またちょっと取ってきました。。。烏賊の握り寿司が美味しかったです。

I got some more Sushi...... Squid Nigiri Sushi was pretty good.



中央奥の黒シャツ男性2名は、体育会系大学生らしく、身長190センチ前後。大柄大学生4名で同じテーブルに座ってました。取り皿に取る前に手でつまんで食べてました。その後テンコ盛りの食べ物をテーブルに持ち帰り、その4名はものすごい量を食べてました。

Two guys in the center right seemed to be atheletic college students around 6 foot 4 inches tall. They came with 2 other guys like that and sat at the same table. They were picking food and Sushi and placing them to mouth before placing them on a plate. They placed lots of food on plates later. They were eating a lot.



デザートの種類も豊富でした。。。。

They had wide varaieties of Desserts, too......

They will make Crepes for your preference.



抹茶アイスクリーム、ストロベリーヨーグルト、レモンチーズケーキ、抹茶ムースケーキ、モカケーキなど取ってきました。

I got Green Tea Ice Cream, Strawberry Yogurt, Lemon Cheesecake, Green Tea Mouse Cake, Mocha Cake, etc.


最初に取った巻寿司はスパイシー系が多かったです。握り寿司に行く前にさんざん巻き寿司を食べお腹一杯になってしまいました。お皿を中央に置いたお店の作戦勝ちですね。入ってすぐ手巻き寿司コーナーもあったのですが、４つぐらいしか置いてなく、並んでる間になくなってしまいました。

Most of the Rolled Sushi I first picked were spicy. I ate too much Rolled Sushi before picking Nigiri Sushi, and I got full. The restaurant manager won by placing the plates in the middle (near Rolled Sushi). They also had Hand-Rolled Sushi section at the front side. They only placed 3 or 4 rolles at a time, and it's gone while we were on the line.

『トウダイ寿司バフェ』はロサンゼルスに20年近く前に開店。トーレンス、サンタモニカ、ビバリーヒルズ近くにもありましたが、流行った店はどんどん売却するので、ロサンゼルスの店はどんどん違う名前と経営に変わりました。今ではこのラスベガス店がUSA最大規模の『トウダイ寿司バフェ』だそう。

"Todai Sushi Buffet" opened in Los Angeles 20 years ago or so. They had locations in Torrance, Santa Monica, and Los Angeles near Beverly Hills. They keep selling popular restaurants, so the ownership of several Los Angeles Todai restaurants changed. Now this Las Vegas branch is the largest "Todai Sushi Buffet" in USA.

7月14日ラスベガスの「フォーラム・ショップ」で散歩しました。同行した友人ＹＷさんのお勧めスポット。目抜き通りシーザーズパレス・ホテルカジノ内にあります。一番奥の噴水では定期的に無料ショーを開催。豪華なブランド・ショップも揃い、あきることがありません。

"The Forum Shop"@Caesars Palace:
We strolled in the Forum Shop at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas, on 7/14/2009. My friend YW went to Las Vegas with me last time, and she recommended this place as a great spot to stroll. It's located on the main strip, Las Vegas Blvd. and inside Caesars Palace Casino Hotel. At the water fountain in the very back, they perform free shows at a specific intervals. There are many gorgeous brand shops. You will not be bored in this mall.

高さ14.2メートルの巨大トロイの木馬が入り口でお出迎え。2009年5月末トイザラス社に買収されたが、このラスベガス・フォーラム店とニューヨーク5番街店はそのままの名前で運営されてます。（関連リンク）



FAO Schwarz
The stunning 47-foot Trojan Horse replica at the entrance greets you. Purchased by Toysrus in late May 2009. Toysrus decided to operate the Forum Las Vegas shop and New York 5th Avenue shop under the same name. (Related Link)



入店するとぬいぐるみがお出迎え。右側にはキャンディーやガムの量り売りコーナーがあります。子供だけでなく大人にも大人気。アメリカ版駄菓子屋です。

Stuffed animals greet you as you enter the store. There is a Candy corner on the right side, selling all kinds of candies and gums by pound (weight) and pieces. It is very popular among children and adults.



パンダのぬいぐるみも豊富。数年前は等身大のぬいぐるみコーナーがあったけれど、今回はなかった。友人ＹＷさん談。

There are lots of stuffed Pandas, too. According to my friend YW, they used to have a section dedicated for large human size stuffed animals, but they don't have it any more.

午後3時、噴水の水量が増え、派手な音楽と光と共に無料ショーが始まりました。銅像が引っ込み、電気仕掛けの男性と女性兵士人形が中央、左、右から出、あとは噴水、雷、炎が吹き出る。あとの詳細は見てのお楽しみです。1時間に1度は行われているようです。

At 3 PM, a free show started with increased volume of water in the fountain and showy music and lights. Several statues disappeared and electric controlled male and female warriors and a God appeared from the center, left, and the right side. Then, water fountain, thunderstorm, and fires blew out at the water fountain. I will leave the rest of the details for you to watch it yourself. It is performed at least once every hour.

今回ラスベガスを7月12日から15日に訪れた時の最高気温は華氏107度（摂氏43度）。早朝から80度（摂氏27度）を超えています。こういう冷房の効いた室内モールに人が集まるのも自然でしょうね。
このフォーラム・ショップ・フェーズIIIの工事完成は2004年10月末。工事終了後ここを訪れたのは初めてでした。

It was high 107 F (43 C) degree in Las Vegas when we visited from July 12th to 15th. It went over 80 F (27 C) degree from early morning. It's natural people gather at an air conditioned and cool indoor malls.

The Forum Shop phase III construction was completed in late October of 2004. It was my first visit here after the construction was completed.

5月にまた『マッジアーノ』に行き来ました。3日前からまたラスベガスに来てます。『マッジアーノ』は滞在中のパラッゾホテルからハス迎えの「ファッション・ショー・モール」2階にあります。

A Night View of Palazzo Hotel (A new addition to Venetian, Opened in 1/2008) from Maggiano.

『マジアーノ』は全米23州に店舗を持つ。ロサンゼルスにはサウスコースト・プラザとファーマーズ･マーケットのモールにある。どちらも家から車で40分以上かかるのでラスベガスに来たとき行くことが多いです。とにかく1品ずつの量が多い。

2人用に、すべてハーフポーションをオーダーしました。ハーフが2－3人用。フルが4－6人用。伝統的イタリア家庭風味付けで美味しい。

"Maggiano" has locations in 23 states in USA. In Los Angeles, you can find it at South Coast Plaza Mall and Farmer's Market Mall. It takes more than 40 minutes by car from my house, so I go to this restaurant when I visit Las Vegas. Their serving portions are huge. We ordered "Half" portion for all dishes. Half is good for 2 to 3 people. Full is good for 4 to 6 people. Their cooking is traditional Italian Home style and pretty good.

＄25のギフトカードを使用。去年クリスマスにもらったのと、マスターカードのポイントをためて換金したのがあります。そのギフトカードは系列レストランの「マカロニグリル」、「オンザボーダーズ」、「チリーズ」でも使える。ホームページからもオーダーできます。

We used $25 gift card. I received one as a Christmas gift from a friend and also another one through Master Card Reward points. The gift card can be used at "Macaroni Grill", "On the Border", and Chilli's", owned by the same corporation. It can be ordered at the homepage, too.

今ラスベガスは7月15日朝7時です。あと3時間半ほどしたらホテルを出て、11時ごろからロスに帰ります。また炎天下モハビ砂漠を300マイル（500キロ弱）運転です。今回は私が往復運転。最高気温華氏107度（摂氏43度）です。でも明日からはもっと気温が上がるそう。。。。

In Las Vegas it's 7 AM on 7/15/09 now. I will check out a hotel in about 3 hours and drive back to Los Angeles from around 11 AM. It will be 300 miles (500 km) drive in the scorching hot Mohaje Desert. This time I am driving both ways. The temperature will go up to 107 F (43 C). The weather man said it will get even higher from tomorrow.

ラスベガスで人気の食べ放題、『カーニバル・ワールド・バフェ』。もう15回以上行きました。5月に来た時の写真を公開します。実は今日も10時半ＡＭ(1時間後）から食べに行く予定。リオ・スイーツ・カジノ・ホテルの１階にあります。7月12日からまたラスベガスに来てます。3泊の予定でパラッゾ（ベネシアンの新館）に無料招待で泊まってます。気温華氏１０７度(摂氏43度）と焼けるように暑いです。。

A very popular all-you-can-eat buffet "Carnival World Buffet." I have been there more than 15 times. I will upload photos from my last visit in May 2009. Actually I am visiting there again today from 10:30 AM (1 hour from now). It's located on the 1st floor in Rio All-Suite-Casino-Hotel. From 7/12/09, I am visiting Las Vegas again and staying at Palazzo (a new addition to Venetian hotel) for 3 nights using a free comp. It's 107 F (43 C) degree and scorching HOT.

中華、ミドルイースト、メキシコ、アメリカ、日本、ベトナム、タイ、イタリア料理など２００種類以上の料理が並ぶ。朝はオムレツバーがあり、それがランチとディナーには、アジアン・ヌードル・スープ・バーに変わる。鉄板焼きや飲茶コーナーもある。

They have Chinese, Middle Eastern, Mexican, American, Japanese, Vietnumese, Thai, Italian, etc., more than 200 kinds of dishes. They have Omelet bar for breakfast, and it changes to Asian Noodle Soup Bar for Lunch and Dinner. They also have Teppan-yaki and Dim Sum sections.

アジアン・ヌードル・スープバーの「トム・ヤム・クン」を麵抜きで注文するのが好きです。
麵があるとお腹がふくらみ、他の料理が食べれなくなるので。。。

I like to order "Tom Yum Koon Soup" without noodles at the Asian Noodle Soup Bar.
If I ate nooldes, my stomach gets full and I cannot eat other foods much....

えびのカクテルも新鮮で美味しい。ディナーには蟹の食べ放題もある。

Shrimp Cocktails are fresh and good, too. They also have Crab Legs for Dinner.


鉄板焼きコーナーでは、自分の好きな材料を好きなだけ取って、ビーフ、チキン、ポーク、海老を選んでその場で焼いてもらえる。

At the Teppan-yaki section, you can pick up the ingredients you like and select Beef, Chicken, Pork, or Shrimp, or Combination. A chef will cook it on a Teppan grill right there for you.

ムール貝や虹鱒のグリルもありました

They had Mussles and Grilled Rainbow Trout as well.

お寿司も少しあります。紹介しきれないほどの食べ物です。。。。

They also have Sushi little bit. There are so many dishes that I cannot cover all.

ここのジェラトやデザートも好きです。

I like their Gelato and desserts, too.



左側が値段表。右側はラスベガス市在住者は月～木曜のランチとディナーが半額になるというお知らせ。デスクで登録要。今年２月プレジデント・デー祝日に行った時、ローカルが何百人といました。この祝日は休みを取る会社と仕事のところが半々で正式な国民の祭日ではないので。

Left is the Price List. The Right is sign that Las Vegas City Locals get 50% off for Lunch and Dinner on Monday to Thursday. When we went there for President's Day in February 2009, there were hundreds of locals in the line. This day is not a national holiday. Only a half of the companies obeserve this holiday.

昨日はミラクル･マイルズ・ショップにある「ＴＯＤＡＩ」寿司食べ放題に行きました。その詳細はまた後ほどお伝えします。

今日の「カーニバル・ワールド・バフェ」を体験して、２月や５月と違いがあれば、ここに追記します。

Yesterday we went to "TODAI" Sushi Buffet at Miracle Miles Shop. I will write details later.

I will add on to this blog after visiting "Carnival World Buffet" Today and if there was any difference from February and May of this year.

週末（土日）なら、10時ごろ入って、朝食料金＄１５で朝食メニューと10時半以降からのブランチメニュー（料金＄２４）の中から物色するか、平日なら、朝食がランチに変わる30分前、またはランチがディナーに変わる30分前に入るとお得。

平日（月曜～金曜）は朝食が7時から11時、ランチが11時から午後3時半、ディナーが3時半から午後10時。午前10時半ごろか、午後3時前ごろに行く。

On Weekends (Saturday and Sunday), they have breakfast from 7:30 to 10:30 AM, and Brunch from 10:30AM to 3:30 PM. I usually go there around 10 AM to get menu selection from Breakfast and Brunch.

On Weekdays (Monday to Friday), they have breakfast from 7 to 11 AM, Lunch from 11 AM to 3:30 PM, and Dinner from 3:30 PM to 10 PM. I go there aroudn 10:30 AM or 3 PM.

今日の「カーニバル・ワールド・バフェ」は午前中すいてました。ほとんど並ばすに入れました。メキシカンコーナーがデリステーションに変わり、サンドイッチやホットドックをオーダーできます。そういうものを食べるとすぐにお腹がいっぱいになりそうです。

オムレツコーナーは入って左側に変わっていました。朝食はだいたいそちら側に揃っています。

お寿司コーナーには、いつもの鉄火巻き、スパイシー鉄火巻き、サーモン巻き、カリフォルニア巻きの他に海老天蒸す巻きがありました。明日1１時ＡＭ頃ラスベガスを出発して車でロスに帰ります。

It was not crowded in the morning at "Carnival World Buffet" today. There was no line to get in. The Mexican food section changed to "Deli Station", and you can order Sandwich and Hot Dogs there. You might get full by eating those foods though.....

The Omelet Station moved to the Left side after entering the buffet. All Breakfast foods can be found on that side.

In Sushi section, there was "Tempura Shurimp Roll" in addition to the regular rolls, such as Tuna Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll, Salmon Roll, California Roll, etc. We will leave Las Vegas around 11 AM tomorrow and drive back to Los Angeles.

先月ラスベガス訪問した際、目に付いた新コンセプト複合ビル『Vdara』。ホテルとコンドミニウム（日本で言うマンション）の両方を持つ。ベラージオホテルの南側に建設中。あと106日で完成予定だそう。そのセールス事務所がベラージオホテル内温室横にあったのでのぞきました。

Vdara-New Concept Buildings@Las Vegas:
When I visited Las Vegas last month, I noticed there are new buildings being constructed. It's a combination of hotels and condominiums being constructed south side of Bellagio Hotel, called "Vdara." The homepage says it will open in 106 days. There was a sales office of Vdara near the conservatory at Bellagio Casino Hotel. I went to see the displays there.

コンドミニウムのセールス中。ホテルは全室豪華スイートルームで今年10月1日開業予定だそう。完成したらまた見に行きたいです。
The condominiums are on sale. The hotel rooms are all luxury suite rooms, and they plan to open on 10/1/2009. I want to see the buildings again when they are completed.

ベラージオ・カジノ・ホテルの温室を5月20日に訪れた時の写真です。この温室は週7日24時間無料。今年は5月から9月7日までこの「夏」の展示だそう。去年に比べ展示期間が長くなったように感じました。

Bellagio Casino Hotel Conservatory:displays beautiful garden by season or holiday occasion. These are photos from my visit on 5/20/2009. This conservatory is open 24 hours/7 days a week, and it's free to get in. This year they have this "Summer" exhibit from May to 9/7/2009. It seems a duration of one exhibit got longer this year compared to last year.

ホテル前の巨大な池の噴水ショーも素敵ですが、この温室は必ず訪れ写真撮影することにしています。写真を14枚掲載します。

Although, the Water Fountain show in the huge pond in front of the hotel is wonderful, I make it a must-see and must-do thing to visit and to take photos of this conservatory. I will post 14 photos here.
























紫陽花の季節ですね。去年の今ごろは20年以上ぶりの東京と福岡の雨に濡れる紫陽花を楽しみました。写真をまだブログに公開してなかったので、今度掲載しますね。。。

Hydrangea season is here. About this time last year, I was in Tokyo and Fukuoka, Japan, and enjoyed beautiful Hydrangea flowers in rains for the first time in over 20 years. I did not post photos on this blog, yet, so I will post some later.

　　先月ラスベガス訪問時に『Wing Stop』のバファローウイング（スパイシーな鶏手羽先）を食べた。全米32州に600軒展開中の手羽先専門ファスト・フード店。
「コンボ・ミール」の15ピースにした。ドリンク飲見放題２つとラージ・ポテトがついて＄14.99．

Wing Stop:
Last month we visited "Wing Stop" in Las Vegas while we are traveling there. It's a fast food restaurant and they offer Buffalo style Chicken Wings. They have 600 restaurants in 32 states that are open or under development.
We ordered a 15 PC "Combo Meal"at $14.99. It came with 2 fountain drinks and 1 Large Fries with 2 Flavors.

この「コンボミール」は５個入りが＄5.99（ドリンク1つとレギュラー・ポテト付き）、10個入りが＄8.99（ドリンク１つとレギュラー・ポテト付き）。手羽先チキンは骨付きか骨なし（ボーンレス）か選べる。

ロサンゼルス市に５軒、ロングビーチ市に5軒、カーソン市に2軒、ローンデールに1軒ある。トーレンス市Crenshaw Blvd 沿いArtesia Blvdの少し南側に近日開店予定らしい。

ケージョン味はさすがに後から来る辛さでした。癖になる味です。トーレンス店がオープンしたらまた食べに行きたい。食べたあと手や口がべたべたになり、トイレで手を洗いました。

There are 5 locations in Los Angeles, 5 locations in Long Beach, 2 locations in Carson, and 1 location in Lawndale. They are opening another store in Torrance on Crenshaw Blvd.little south of Artesia Blvd. soon.

The Cajun flavor was really spicy. The spiciness comes little later and it could be addictive. I want to visit Wing Stop when they open the store in Torrance. Your hands and mouth get dirty with wing sauce. I went to the restroom to wash my hands.
