先週ハラーズリンカン・カジノホテルに小旅行しました。テメキュラ近郊にあるインディアンカジノです。そのホテルとカジノの写真をアップします。 Harrah's Rincon Casino Resort Hotel: We traveled to Harrah's Rincon near Temecula from Wednesday night last week. I will post photos of the hotel and casino.
This Harrah's Rincon Casino opened around 2002. It's located 18 miles east along the winding mountain road from the 15 Freeway exit. There are Pala Casino and Pauma Casino on the way there along the mountain road and Pechanga Casino about 30 minutes north from it. As I searched there are 7 Indian casinos in the region. The other 3 casinos are La Jolla, Valley View, and Santa Ysabel.
The birth of Indian Gaming began in the late 1970s when many Native Americans were living in poverty. Most places did not have electricity and running water. The Cabazon and Seminole tribes decided to open some gambling halls in hopes the money generated from casino games would improve their wealth. Eventually the states found out about these halls and shut them down. The tribes challenged the states by taking their case to the Supreme Court of the United States who ruled in favor of Indian Gaming, as the gaming operations operated on sovereign Indian reservations and were thereby outside of state jurisdiction. Victory in this case allowed tribes to open various profitable casinos throughout their lands and expanded to California and Connecticut. There are 23 Indian casinos in Southern California alone now.

Shasta guide books here. You might be able to visit scenic places with the guide books. If you are alone and no car, it's probably better to ask for a local tour guide.

世界七大聖山シャスタに旅行中です。14日にキャッスルレイクからハートレイクまでハイキングしました。 "Castle Lake and Heart Lake, Mt. Shasta": We went hiking there on September 14, 2012, I'm now visiting Mount Shasta, one of the Seven Sacred Mountains of the world.
I left my house little south of LAX around 5 am, joined for more friends and drove northon I-5 Interstate Fwy. We stopped by at "Andersen's Pea Soup" in the middle of the way and had lunch. We arrived Mount Shasta area around 5:30 pm. It's 600 miles (960 km) distance away.
From Mt.Shasta City, We drove to "Mount Shasta Resort" and to "Castle Lake" and parked at the parking lot for Castle Lake. From there we hiked up from "Castle Lake" to "Heart Lake" for 45 to 50 minutes one way on the trail where there are no signs.
We started hiking around 10:30 am. There were several camping tents around the starting point of the hike trail. We could not find the trail division to right, because it was covered with those tents. After going straight for several minutes, we came back and found that trail division to the right. We hiked up the medium to hard sharp slope and reached Heart Lake in 45 minutes.

Finally we arrived at "Heart Lake" where only invited persons can reach. The lake is shaped like a "heart". Sacred fairies live here. It's a power spot for Love.
This time we hiked up the trail continuing the right side of Heart Lake for 10 minutes. We were able to reach the spot where you can view Mount Shasta in the center behind Castle Lake. (the first photo).

We left Torrance area around 8:40 am, and picked up 2 more friends in WLA around 9:15 am. Seven of us drove to Ojai in on van and arrived there little before 11 am.
We were familiar with that lavender farm from our last year's visit. We got a hold of a picnic table, took bathroom breaks, took photos, and had a picnic lunch. Then, we started to cut Lavender flower bouquets, and enjoyed shopping at the Lavender farm.

宮島を訪日中の5月28日に初訪問。ここの厳島神社は世界文化遺産です。そして日本三景の一つ。正式名は厳島。 Miyajima: I visited this island in Hiroshima for the first time on May 28, 2012 while I was visiting Japan. The island is officially called Itsukushima. Itsukushima Shrine, the UNESCO World Heritage Site, is on this island. The view is one of Three Views of Japan.
It was a one day trip to Hiroshima from Hakata station in Fukuoka. I took a Shinkansen bullet train to Shin Hiroshima station, took a JR Sanyou main line to Miyajima-guchi station for 25 minutes. There is a Ferry terminal for Miyajima about 2 minute walking distance. I took a JR Miyajima ferry boat to Miyajima. The JR Miyajima ferry boats are operated every 15 to 35 minutes. I planned to meet a friend at Miyajima-guchi station. She is from Hiroshima and knows the area. I had a JR Pass, so shinkansen bullet train, a local JR train, and JR Miyajima ferry were free with that JR pass.
The gateway to Itsukushima Shrine was under the construction after the storm on 4-3-2012. The restoration finished on 6-7-2012, 9 days after I visited.
Another view from Itsukushima Shrine. The first shrine buildings were probably erected in the 6th century, and the shrine has been destroyed many times. The present shrine dates from the mid-16th century, and follows the earlier 12th century design. That design was established in 1168, when funds were provided by the warlord Taira no Kiyomori.
This Goddess statue was place outside of Itsukushima Shrine. There was another stone marking of "May Peace Prevail On Earth" on the left side. We prayed for Japan and world peace and perform In's in front of this Goddess.
Look at them. They are fat and gorgeous looking Oysters, garnished with Ponzu Citrus Sauce. Aki district/Miyajima are famous for Oysters. We had hot grilled Oysters with Ponzu Sauce and cold Beer. We were so happy......
宮島で有名なもみじ饅頭。やまだ屋さん。チーズ入り、チョコ入り、抹茶入りなど、いろいろ。 Famous "Momiji manju" at Yamadaya. There are many varieties, such as with Cream Cheese, Chocolate, Green Tea, etc.

Take a Hiroden surface train to "Genbaku Dome". It's right there from the train station. My girlfriend and I were talking and we missed that station and went to the next station, "Kamiya-cho West". It's the biggest shopping area in Hiroshima city. We walked the underground malls. We found a flower shop and got some white flower to take it to the Hiroshima Dome site.

So that this tragic fact can be learned by the people in the future generations. We will preserve this building forever. 8-6-1947 Hiroshima City.
It was hot like Summer with 29 C (88 F) temperature on May 28th. It must have been hotter on August 6th. The atomic bomb victims suffered severe burns and rushed to the river, wanting for water. We placed the white flower we got at the flower shop and prayed here for some more.
My girlfriend treated me for Hiroshima-style Okonomiyaki (Japanese Pancake) in Kamiya-cho after this. I got on to a Shinkansen bullet train, and I saw a double rainbow circling the sun from the window. The photo is not clear through the window, though.

5月24日沖縄の首里城再訪。2年ぶり2回目でした。とても強いパワーを感じました。 Shurijo Castle, Okinawa: I revisited here on May 24, 2012. It was my second visit. My first visit was 2 years prior. I felt very strong power there.
The Kingdom of the Ryukyus reigned over Japan's southwestern islands for about 450 years from 1429 to 1879.
Since 32,000 years ago, humans lived in the Ryukyu Archipelago, a chain of islands stretching from Amami-oshima in the north to Yaeyama Islands in the south. Political forces on these islands began to appear in the 12th century, a period corresponding to Japan's Kamakura era.
Through wars and reconciliation, local warlords known as "aji" were gradually reduced in number as power was consolidated by a few. Finally in 1429, Sho Hashi defeated the major ajis to establish a unified nation. This marks the birth of the Kingdom of the Ryukyus and the Sho Dynasty.
The Ryukyus gradually evolved. Through trade and diplomatic ties with China, Japan, Korea, and Southeast Asia, the Ryukyus developed as an ocean-faring nation, with Shurijo Castle as its political, economic and cultural center.
I took a shuttle bus from the hotel in Ginowan city to Naha airport. I stored my luggage in a prepaid locker. Then, I took a monorail, called "Yui-rail" from the airport to Shurijo station around 30 minutes. It's 18 minute walking distance from the monorail station to the entrance gate. I took a local bus and walked 5 minutes to the entrance gate.

Two days ago they tweeted the photo of the first bloom of the Sunflower in the area. I took it with my iPhone and uploaded it here.
"Megumi JAPAN"'s headquarter is located near "Rikuzen-Toyosato" station in Miyagi Prefecture. I left my hotel in Shinjuku at 8 AM on May 18th. I took an "Chuo-kaisoku" express train to Tokyo Station. It was raining in Eastern Japan while I was riding trains. It stopped raining when I got to "Rikuzen-Toyosato" station and became cloudy. I saw the slide of photos taken right after the 3-11-2011 disaster in Ishinomaki area and helped packing Sunflower seeds for 20 seeds per plastic bag, and dowsing off from the jet-lag in the afternoon. There were several inside, but 15 people were out volunteering in the rain. They came back little after 5 PM.

It was a 1 day trip, 1 hour 35 minute drive from Phoenix, AZ, where I was staying for a horseback riding and Yoga retreat from Nov. 23 to 28, 2011. Sedona is a well known power spot. 地球のエネルギーが沸きあがる場所、ボルテックスの岩山に建てたれたチャペルです。 It's a chapel built on a vortex, where energy from the earth flows out.
History--The first conception came to Marguerite Bruswig Staude in 1932 in New York City while observing the newly constructed Empire State Building. When viewed from a certain angle a cross seemed to impose itself through the very core of the structure.
Built on a twin pinnacled spur about 250 feet high, jutting out of a thousand foot red rock wall, "solid as the Rock of Peter" the building of the Chapel was completed in April 1956. Just the physical construction was a physical miracle, overcoming difficult conditions to construct this chapel.

Inside the chapel is quiet. Red candles lined up on both left and right side of the walls. It's hard to take photos, because it's against the sunlight from the windows.
Someone once told the vortex at the chapel was supposed to invoke feelings of gratitude. I found that to be true. I was filled with gratitude and lit a candle for a prayer. There is a donation box to light candles.

On August 2, 2011, Yoko Ono visited Nagasaki city for the first time. She visited and placed flowers at the atomic bomb attack epi-center and atomic bomb museum. The city Mayor, Tokuhisa Tanoue gave her "Nagasaki Peace Special Agent Certificate".
At the press interview, Yoko Ono told, "Foreigners should visit here and know how cruel thing a human being did."
I agree with Yoko Ono's statement. You will not understand the suffering of the people unless you visit where the atomic bomb was dropped and look at the displays at the atomic bomb museum. 長崎市路面電車またはバスで「松山町」か「浜口町」下車
